Publisher's Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Laura Lee comes the sexy and heart-wrenching new stand-alone story set in the Windsor Academy world.

They call me a player. A joker. The guy always down for a good time.

But if they knew the secrets I’ve been keeping, they’d call me something else entirely.

For the last two years, I’ve been buried in shame, numbing the pain with various vices. Drowning in self-hatred and concealing it with a smile.

I had a system in place, a surety that no one would learn the truth. Then Sydney Carrington came waltzing back into my life.

She’s the new headmaster’s daughter. The most beautiful girl I’ve ever met. The one person on Earth who can expose what I’ve worked so tirelessly to hide: That I'm the f--king villain in this story.

This audiobook may contain triggers for sensitive listeners. Due to mature subject matter, it is recommended for listeners 17+ only.

Solid little story

I listened to this with some enjoyment although the high school setting didn't ring true to me at times. Perhaps due to the characters supposedly being from the rich side of the social setting and going to school at a prep school? that is out of my experience so it may just be me and kids these days do behave and react in this way, with very little involvement or supervision from the adults in their lives. I did find it distracting though. The narration was good and if you enjoy teenage angst you'll enjoy this book.

Broken Playboy

I’m always a sucker for a broken playboy that finds redemption, but I found myself having a hard time liking Bentley. Eventually he grew on me the more his tragedy unfolded, but he’s not my favorite. I know these characters are 18, but for high school kids they sure do have a lot of sex! It was still a good story, just not one of my favorites. Very much enjoyed the narrators.

Savior in the Shadows

When you feel as if you killed your one true love your life doesn’t seem to matter. Then you see what seems to be a ghost from your past only it’s not a ghost it’s actually your living savior. Although you don’t see it in the beginning

broken playboy review

story was traumatic but the female voices were drawn out, exaggerated and were more on the annoying side. book took longer to finish because I had to keep walking away out of irritation stemming from the female character drawn out whining and just condescending exaggerated sound. book would have been much better without that

Love this book, these narrators were perfect!

An amazing book- Bentley and Sidney have such an emotional and steamy story, and these narrators totally brought it! The emphasis they put on *certain* scenes was so spectacular, I could see them as if I was right there in the story with them.

Love this story

I have read this book a few times and new I loved the story already. The performance of the narrators threw me off a little at first (they didn't really sound like I had expected) but overall it was very enjoyable.

Amazing!!

Loved it!! Great story for Bentley. I was so happy to finally hear Bents story and Laura Lee did not disappoint. She did an amazing job. If you have not read to previous Windsor academy trilogy please stop and read it first. This is amazing story and glad Bentleys story was just a standalone.

loved

Loved the dual narration of Lessa Lamb and Conner Goff

In Broken Playboy the story picks up from the point at the end of book 3 ,

Bentley is a tortured soul , but with all his bad decisions he was a good person and Sydney was a complete badass Bent and Syd have amazing chemistry.

SO GOOD

Laura Lee has once again managed to rip my heart to pieces and stitch it back together. This book was everything—and then some—that I was hoping for.

Beautifully broken Bentley—ever the joker and playboy—stole my heart in the original WA trilogy and now, he is firmly rooted in my memory.
Finally getting all the pieces of his story was eye-opening, heartbreaking, and bittersweet.

I knew he would need a strong partner—with all the drama that surrounds their friend group—and Sydney was a perfect match for our broken playboy.
Sweet, sassy, independent, and strong-willed; there was no doubt in my mind they would end up in a place that would heal the hurt created by their story.

There is plenty of angst, some very hard subjects to work through, steam, snarky banter, along with the fun and playful interactions we have come to love from Jazz, Kingston, Bent and co. Add in Cam to that mix and I was snorting drink out my nose in places.

Lessa and Conner absolutely nailed the audio. SO GOOD

So so so good

This is a Laura Lee book so I knew it would be good, what I didn’t expect was how good it would turn out to be. There are so many lies and twists and turns that you don’t know which way is up or down until the characters are willing to share and I loved every second. This isn’t a nice relaxing listen this is a stay up all night desperately seeking the truth and for it to never end. I loved the narration of this one it really highlighted the emotions that the characters were experiencing and just made it a fantastic listen.
