Story
A master storyteller at his best - the O. Henry Prize winner Stephen King delivers a generous collection of stories, several of them brand-new, featuring revelatory autobiographical comments on when, why, and how he came to write (or rewrite) each story. Magnificent, eerie, utterly compelling, these stories comprise one of King's finest gifts to his constant fan. "I made them especially for you," says King. "Feel free to examine them, but please be careful. The best of them have teeth."

Story
This statement was true when H. P. Lovecraft first wrote it at the beginning of the twentieth century, and it remains true at the beginning of the twenty-first century. The only thing that has changed is what is unknown. With each passing year, science, technology, and the march of time shine light into the craggy corners of the universe, making the fears of an earlier generation seem quaint. But this light creates its own shadows. The Best Horror of the Year, edited by Ellen Datlow, chronicles these shifting shadows.

A great collection of numerous Short Stories
This is a great collection of over 40 short stories. Most are really good, some are great, and just a few are so-so (in a collection of this many tales not everyone can be a diamond, although I also think that if this had been split into thirds rather than one huge collection the so-so's might stand out more. They aren't bad, just when you compare $100 to $1000 the hundred seems not as impressive. So don't get the wrong idea.
The stories range from all types, and everyone will find something that fits their particular style of horror story. As anthologies go, this is one of the best I have seen, even if it is only made up of the work of 4 combined authors. Most anthologies hit you with one writer per tale, but here you really get a good bite of each man's work, and so you get to know them a lot better than the standard collection allows.
As a horror junkie I can't say these stories terrified me, little does. I haven't seen a "scary" movie since 1975. I am desenitized to it, even though I love it still. This does not mean that the stories are not moving, or disturbing. Quite the oposite actually. I might not have had to sleep with one open, although I am certain that less armored readers would, I was still moved and forced to think about the stories for a while after, and that is a sign of good story-telling. Tales that stick with you like a great stew, rather than a weak broth.
Either way, I look at it like this, the price for this gem is the same for a similar one with 1/3 or 1/2 the stories, and those books always suffer from about 1/2 the stories being good, a few mediocre ones, and the rest just suck outright. Here, you get a least double the normal stuff, and everything in it is decent or waaaay better. You can't go wrong.
If you like horror, dark themes, madness, and demons from hell this is the book for you!

Paid for Reddit stories
One would think buying a book would get you stories written for special for that book, or stories at least from other collections or something like that. Not this time. Most if not all the stories are taken from Reddit NoSleep. I know this because I’ve read most of them. $14 bucks for stuff I could have read for free.

Great collection of short horror stories with several by each contributor
I enjoyed all the stories, some were just fantastic. Having several stories by each author gives a great sense of each writer's style and a chance to explore their interests.
The reader was great at carrying the suspense of each story. I would only say that I generally prefer more than one narrator for story collections to provide some transition between stories.

I loved every minute I spent with this book! I’m only sorry there aren’t more stories to listen to, not that there aren’t a lot, I just couldn’t stop! These are A + writers all gathered in one great book! The cover art is awesome too! Very creepy and very well done! Paul Jenkins does a great job of making these interesting characters come to life. Tobias, Kyle, Ha-yong and David, you have outdone yourselves! Thank you for a very enjoyable evening. I look forward to more stories from each of you!

reasonable stories, read by a robot.
The individual stories are okay and entertaining enough to pass the the time. There's nothing here to really give you a scare however.
The narration is very monotone and lacking in emotion to the extent where the experience of each story is reduced as a consequence of the lacklustre effort put in by the narrator. Glad it finished when it did and overall was disappointed with all.
