Publisher's Summary

Promises have been made, and promises will have to be kept.

After all the drama surrounding the invasion of the White Crane Hall, Seiki gave his word to Ippei that he’d join the War Games. So, when he hits level 14 and finally gets eligible for his first troops, Seiki gets ready to face the Demonic Clan and begin his climb up the military ranks.

But before he can claim his unit from the Shogun, Seiki has one last promise to fulfill. Together with the whole band, he has to clear Nezumi Temple - aka the rat dungeon - in order to secure a rare armguard for Yamura as a thank you for saving their neck back at the siege. However, the drop rate for the item could be as low as 4%. And after running the instance for close to 20 times, they’re all starting to wonder whether the darn piece even exists....

Amazing story along with detailed characters

I love this series. the mc is believable and not OP or just stumbles into winning his fights. he uses real life experiences and thinks through his actions. I like that over other litrpgs that just have their mc do things without telling us why. even worse is having a mc that just gets by with plot armor. The MC for this series is a down to earth newb who has taken his time to learn the game and apply his knowledge to it. this series is amazing and I look forward to the 4th book

As great as the previous one. Can’t wait until another one in the series. Narration was perfect too.

Ok

Good enough to get but it’s starting to all run together. I think it needs more heart.

Awesome, can't wait for the next!

I love this series. The story is great, the characters are fun and engaging. The world makes you want to play this game for real so badly. The action and dialogue are perfectly balanced and the story just keeps getting better. I do not want this series to ever end!

Another Great entry

Loved this series. Really wish it would be made into an mmo. love all the character arcs and interactions. not a fan of troop/resource management aspects of it but that played an insignificant role in the story overall.

Complex yet engaging story

Another great installment in this series. This wraps up a few threads but leaves plenty to unpack in the future. really good narration helps immensely

being the third of the series, not much to say that aren't spoilers, so just know this is just like the previous books in all the best ways possible :)

Best of the three

Thorn seems to have really found his voice. This is a very solid outing: it's interesting, clever, and hard to put down. I can't wait for Book 4!

FINALY getting TRUELY good !!!

MC is FINALY leveling, getting to know the game & NOT just getting pushed around: this brings the HOLE mood of the book up. Below is my book 2 review & still SOME WHAT true.

MC is just playing a game & not doing WORLD making / breaking things: it's good, but NOT a cliff hanger / WOW fest. Sad parts: a bit much, but push the MC & are a BIG reason why it's a 3 star book. Real life: VERY small & NECESSARY, to set up MC's motivations. Character interplay can be VERY dark or light & funny: these bring the mood more DOWN then up. Sex / romance: none. Story pace: constant & only slow at times. Character progression & powers are basic, & YOU or RL skills / knowledge come into play: martial artists fight better, maintenance / repair men craft / repair better, ect. This is an interesting & rare twist, in LITRPG books. Non-standard class names: it's HARD to tell what they can do / there's NO warriors, mages, archers, ect.

Performance: OK at best, minimal voice difference & good inflections.

I just couldn't finish

This is the 3rd book in the series and it is just like the others. And this is the major problem I had with it....it is just like the others. To me, I was hoping that the story line would progress, unfortunately, it didn't. I did enjoy the first two books.
