Story
Never mix business with pleasure. Never bring politics into the bedroom. In a way I did both when I took Jackson Rutledge as a lover. I can't say I wasn't warned. Two years later, he was back. Walking into a deal I'd worked hard to close. Under the tutelage of Lei Yeung, one of the sharpest businesswomen in New York, I had picked up a thing or two since Jax walked away. I wasn't the girl he once knew, but he hadn't changed. Unlike the last time we'd drifted into each other's lives, I knew exactly what I was dealing with...and how addictive his touch could be.

Story
A sizzling encounter that turned into a scorching biweekly affair. How he’d ended up in bed with a woman like Robin was still a mystery to Paul. One minute they were riding the same elevator and the next he was riding her, the attraction so fierce and immediate he couldn’t remember how they reached his room or even shed their clothes. But when Robin suggested they take their relationship to the next level, Paul panicked, prompting her to walk out on him with her head held high and his heart in her hands.

Publisher's Summary
A Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post, and Amazon Charts best seller
From number one New York Times best-selling phenomenon Sylvia Day comes a hotly anticipated and passionate new love story.
Once, I would never have imagined myself here. But I’m settled now. In a place I love, in a home I renovated, spending time with new friends I adore, and working a job that fulfills me. I am reconciling the past and laying the groundwork for the future.
Then Garrett Frost moves in next door.
He’s obstinate and too bold, a raging force of nature that disrupts the careful order of my life. I recognize the ghosts that haunt him, the torment driving him. Garrett would be risky in any form, but wounded, he’s far more dangerous. I fear I’m too fragile for the storm raging inside him, too delicate to withstand the pain that buffets him. But he’s too determined…and too tempting.
And sometimes hope soars above even the iciest desolation.
Emotional and heartrending, Butterfly in Frost marks a brilliant return by global sensation Sylvia Day, the number-one international multimillion best-selling author of the Crossfire saga.

Good -- until the plot 'twist'
Enjoyed the story until the last two chapters. The plot twist felt contrived and was a complete 180 to the story. I didn't buy it at all, especially given the characters' behaviors throughout chapters 1-14. Completely changed my opinion of the story. The author needed to add more clues and some of the earlier dialogue and behaviors ended up making no sense based on the reveal.
Wanted to like this but was disappointed.

Not the best Sylvia Day book
I have listened to most of her books and the narrator on this one leaves some to be desired. The story line just doesn't grab my attention like her other books. I actually was listening and had to switch to another book. I listened for about two hours or halfway thru and just decided it wasn't worth the other two hours. Unfortunate for me, I pre-ordered this book and was out of the country when it came in and I cant return it.

Not. A. Winner!
I could not wait for this to end! I did not connect to either of the main characters. The narration of the male voice was a bit freaky to me, and not in a cool way. The swearing was unnecessary and added no excitement. Not hot. Not sexy.

Loved It!!
You can't compare this to Cross Fire, It is completely different and it drives me nuts when people do that. I go into each book with an open mind.
I loved the narrators, I would of loved to hear more Joe Arden but I felt like Emma Wilder was perfect for her character.
I loved that we got updates on the Crossfire main characters, That was an added bonus. I love Ava!!
Without giving anything away I loved the end. I wasn't excepting it for some reason.
It wasn't what I excepted at all and I wish it would of been a lot longer just because I love Sylvia Day and her books. I recommend it. It had just the right amount of love, story, and lust. It wasn't missing anything and the end summarized everything.

Listen twice
This is one of those stories you'll want to hear twice. Especially after the ending, I won't post any spoilers though. I do like the fact that Sylvia touched on the grief of losing someone close to you, not simply right after but the struggles that come months later. The narrative was excellent and I really enjoyed this book.

Don’t recommend this one. Romantic passages are just too graphic. Difficult to feel the passion amidst torrid descriptions of sex organs on display. The ‘mystery’ seems to play second fiddle to the mish-mash of sweaty dialogue.

OMG!!! I totally didn't see that twist!! This book was so good!! I am speechless and am trying not to say anything to give this away! This book is a must in my opinion. My only complaint is that I didn't want it to end, wanted more!! I believe there was so much more that could be added. Maybe it will be a series??

Wait, what?
The end threw me for a loop, and not in a good way. I’ve been reading this author’s work since she first was published by Ellora’s Cave back in 2005. It is EXTREMELY RARE that I don’t like a book written by her. But this one has a little twist at the end that ruined the whole dang thing for me.
I had a feeling what was going to happen when the hero said the heroine‘s name at the very beginning of the book when they hadn’t even been introduced yet. But as the story went on I figured it was a fluke.
And I wish it had been. That ending absolutely sucked. I wish the author had just skipped that little twist and let the romance play out in the way it was going.
The narration was good but I wish we’d heard more of Joe Arden. He had one scene (not even a whole chapter) at the very end of the book and that was it.

Confusing
First, I've never listened to any of this author's work before so had nothing to go on as far as the style of her writing or familiarity of other characters mentioned. I fast forwarded a lot of the story because it was boring listening to all of the unnecessary descriptions of clothing, graphic sexual scenes and physical attributes of the characters. Ok so he's hot, get on with it. Geez. And by the end when the whole "twist" comes in, I was just confused. There's nothing that ties all of it together. One minute they don't know each other at all, the next they're getting down and dirty then bam- they had a past? And did she remember or did she have ptsd amnesia or something?! It just didn't flow, make any sense. Usually there are references to the past that make sense, ties things together but this was not like that. There wasn't any depth to her past because apparently she didn't want to ever talk about it. Left the listener just wondering. When the conclusion comes, I just thought, wth? Where did that come from? I don't know if I would try any of her other works or not at this point. All of the graphic sex descriptions in these stories are really getting old and boring. These writers need to come up with better storylines instead of all the sex fillers.

I love Sylvia Day (except this book)
Very short story so you don't get as immersed into the stories and characters like you usually do with Sylvia's writing. Overall it was just OK. I think the whole mention of Eva and Gideon was a marketing ploy, didn't add anything to the story and was completely unnecessary.

Trashy and pointless
This book had the potential to be a deep and meaningful book, but was confusing, pointless and absolutely awfully handled a very sensitive topic.
