Very useful

I started listening to this book without any prior experience with programming. I finished with a solid, overview level understanding of the various skills and technologies necessary to work as an entry-level software developer. This book also tackles the questions I had about breaking into the programming industry as a self-taught programmer.

Lots of detail and great introduction

Lots of detail and a great introduction. I have very little background in programming and decided to take up C++. This book is organized to give a very general overview of the C++ language. Each chapter goes into extreme detail on each one of the topics. Great introduction with lots of examples to clarify. Would've been nice to have a chapter devoted to C++ projects though.

Extremely simple to understand

The writer makes the entire point extremely simple to understand. I would highly recommend this book to someone who knows how to program but doesn't have experience with modern C++. The book is clear, easy to understand, and does a great job conveying some of the nuances of modern C++ without getting too deep in the weeds.
