Story
For decades, Cape Noire had existed on the Northwest coast, a bustling metropolis of international commerce. Over time, it became a nexus for all manner of evil and corruption, fed by a dark, insidious spirit of darkness that seemed to infuse itself into the city’s very foundations. One night, the strangest creature of them all was born in the midst of thunder, lighting, and murder. He wears a torn black trench-coat, wide-brim fedora, and a bone-white skull mask while wielding twin silver-plated automatics. He is Cape Noire’s supernatural protector: Brother Bones, the undead avenger.

Story
Burning action in the savage skies over Nazi Germany! Written as history was actually unfolding, this story mirrors the horrors of war in 1940. First Czechoslovakia fell. Then, like dominoes, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Norway, and France. England was planned to be next. Day and night bombing raids over London paved the way. And against this background, "Death Has No Wings" was set.

Publisher's Summary
The ways of magic....
During World War II, C.O. Jones, under a different name, was recruited into a special unit of the OSS (Office of Strategic Services). Special in that all the members had some kind of extrasensory abilities bordering on magic. Their main mission was to seek out and combat the Nazis' top secret Occult Practitioners.
But the war is now over, and C.O. is just another veteran looking for a fresh start. He hopes the quiet little town of Brownsville, Pennsylvania, is the perfect place to do so. That is, until he gets involved with the local criminal element and discovers, through his own unique gifts, that someone is using dark magic to further their own illegal agenda. For C.O. Jones, it seems the ways of magic are to be found in the most unlikely places.
Popular new pulp writer Fred Adams, Jr., delivers another scorching thriller that races across your ears with fresh, original characters, suspense, and ever-exploding action. Hold on to your seatbelts as you meet C.O. Jones, one of the toughest new pulp heroes.

A dirty job...
C. O. Jones is one of the more unusual characters I've run across in the occult genre. He's a mob troubleshooter by profession, but his background and training in the OSS makes him an occult investigator...and he can't help but combat magical and paranormal threats when they cross his path. Also, though he works for the mob, he himself is likeable, and those he works for and with, though clearly criminal, don't seem like such bad sorts. The setting is strong...but in stereotypical fashion, he must move on at the end of the story, drifting...or guided by destiny to the next place he's needed? Looking forward to reading more of C. O. Jones' adventures. The narration was excellent as well...
