Story
Imagine this. You're ready to leave after a one-night stand, and you're figuring out how to - shock horror - leave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sister's wedding this weekend. When he wakes up. Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date. Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about.

Story
As the owner of Pick-A-D*ck, New Orleans' premier hook-up website, my job is simple. Connect two people for a no-strings, no-expectations hook-up. The plus for my clients is that I'm the one who gets to sift through the d*ck pics - except this time, they're required. My problem? My brother, co-owner of Pick-A-D*ck's sister dating site, doesn't believe it's possible to hook up with someone three times and not fall in love. I disagree. I know it's possible. And my disagreement is exactly how I end up reconnected with my high school nemesis, Elliott Sloane.

After four years living the single life, it’s decided that I, London Stuart, am back on the market. I’m not even mad when my cousins and best friends put my name down for the speed-dating sessions. In fact, I’m actually a little excited about it. But then one of my dates turns out to be my six-year-old son’s irresistibly sexy soccer coach - his irresistibly sexy British soccer coach.

Don’t sleep with your best friend. Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful - I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad. The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables. But I can't forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes.

Story
Let your homeless best friend stay with you, he said. Being roommates will be fun, he said. It's only temporary, he said. He never said I'd fall for him. You know what isn't temporary? The endless stream of dirty socks in my bathroom and empty food packets under the sofa - and don't even get me started on the hot guys who take over my living room every Sunday to watch sports. I can't take anymore. So I propose a roommate agreement. One that will bring peace and order back to my life, complete with rules that might just stop my newfound crush on my best friend in its tracks.

I, Elle Evans, am on the run. Not from the fuzz - although that would be more exciting. No, I’m on the run from the four-year-old private tape that, thanks to my vengeful ex, has probably already ruined my vlogging career. There’s nothing like the entire world knowing what you look like mid-O. Creek Keys, Florida, is a million miles away from NYC, and it’s the perfect place for me to hide for the rest of summer until I can figure out what I’m going to do.

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

There are some things you just have to deal with - like your hot-as-hell college booty call moving in next door with his adorable daughter. The only time we've ever gotten along is under the sheets. Old habits die hard because two minutes on my front porch is how long it takes us to bicker. Not that a little fact like that bothers my healthy 80-year-old grandmother and roommate who's determined to see me married before she bites the dust.

Bad idea number 241: sending a dirty text to your number neighbor. In my defense, my friends did it, too, and their neighbors took it as the joke it was. Mine didn't. He responded with a dirty text of his own. Next thing I know, I have a standing texting date every night at 10:30. Until I have to miss it because the stray kitten who adopted me one week ago is sick. The only person I know who can help me at this time of night is my British next-door neighbor and local vet, Isaac Cooper.

What I wanted for my birthday: Books. What I got for my birthday: my brother’s best friend playing matchmaker. Let it be known that I am 100 percent against being set up with somebody. And I’m 1,000 percent sure that Josh Carter's not the man to find me a boyfriend. I mean, if I’m so great, why isn’t he the one dating me? (For the record, I don’t know the answer. That’s just what the guy on the internet asked.) I’ll humor him. If I go on his little dates, he’ll teach my bookish, introverted self how not to be totally, completely, utterly, unforgivably awkward.

What do a wrong number text, a burning building, and a quirky florist have in common? A hunky firefighter with an extra-large...hosepipe. In hindsight, I never should have opened that text message. The last thing I needed first thing on a Monday was a picture of some stranger's, um, eggplant, in my inbox. I also should have replaced the batteries in my fire alarm, because my Friday night did not need to end with my apartment building going up in flames. But it's fine. It's fine. Everything is fine.

The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

Publisher's Summary
It’s not you. It’s me.
No, seriously. It is me. Not only does my name literally mean “unfortunate”, but that’s the story of my life.
Everything I touch turns to crap. An apartment fire - that I swear I was not responsible for - means I’m living back at home with my sex-mad parents. Yay, me!
Which is why I need my new job as personal assistant to Cameron Reid to get back on my feet. Three months in this job and I can move back out and, hopefully, remember to turn off my flat iron once in a while.
Ahem.
On paper, my job is easy. Make coffee. Book appointments.
Keep everything in order. Until I walk in on my boss, half-naked, wearing nothing but the kind of tiny white towel that dreams are made of.
Now, nothing is easy - except for our mutual attraction. But he’s my boss, and you know what they say about mixing work and pleasure: unless you do p*rn, it’s just not worth it.
Or is it?

Cute.
It's a 3.5 stars. This is my 2nd book with this author, Emma Hart. I bought her books awhile back and it was just sitting on the self. When I finally dive in the story, it took me by surprise. It was far much better than, the 1st book I read which was Four Day Fling. They are likable characters and just a feel-good kind of read. It is a lot of flirting and funny moments. I will try more of her books. The author is warming up on me. Haha!

What was the point of this book???
Started off well, and I liked the characters to start with, but it just went nowhere! There was no real story line, literally nothing happened, other than them meeting, deciding they fancied each other and then getting together. Several hours of my life I'm never getting back. Very very disappointed!

Love this book
Holy hot fudge sundae. Emma Hart has only gone and done it again! After Tequila Tequila I didn’t think it was possible to beat but Mallory is one sassy chick and I love Cameron. He is definitely new book boyfriend material.
Mallory is a walking disaster. If first impressions were everything this girl would stick in your mind for the wrong reasons. She’s moved back home and currently looking for a new job. Her recent set of interviews offer the promise of an office job. The problem is her new boss. He may or may not have seen her dirty laundry.
Cameron Reid is a rich, sexy bachelor with a mind for business and a body to die for. Nobody’s boss should be that good looking but what does a little eye candy hurt? The problem is these two have already met and Mallory is more than the average assistant. She will spill your coffee but won’t leave you hanging.
Mallory is a fun loveable character. She’s clumsy but adorable. She’s the perfect assistant but you have to learn her quirks. Cameron and Mallory gel. He really is perfect.
This is a romantic comedy. It’s funny (no cringe-worthy moments), it’s loveable and sweet. Mallory is a True Crime and nacho kind of girl. Cameron wants someone with character and sass. This is a great combination.
This is a slow burn romance even though it’s set over a short period of time. Mallory is hardworking and tries her hardest not to be a klutz. Her personality is fun but not over barring. I love this book!
I read this book before listening to the audiobook. The voice of Mallory wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought she would be more upbeat but as I settled into the story I enjoyed it the way it is.

Nice romance. Narrators were great.
In my humble opinion, the story was funny, quirky and sweet. It made me laugh so it gets 4 stars just for that, I was enjoying it but I have 2 small critiques:
1. This particular shortish story could have been told from the female perspective only, and we would have had to figure out Cameron's feelings - showcasing more of Emma's style of writing. However, I must add that Brian Pallino was my favourite narrator of the two here, he did all the female voices so well and Cameron so yumm. So a bit of an oxymoron, there I admit.
2. A little soft on the tension between Cameron and Mallory. An office romance that had a feel of normal to it. Everybody was so....nice....to each other. The humour saved this story for me.
