Publisher's Summary

New world. New body.

Mind-blowing possibilities.

Maybe this world full of jaw-droppingly beautiful women and martial arts magic is just some sort of delusion.

Maybe this strong, capable body I’ve found myself in isn’t real.

But if it is, then there’s a path that could lead me to everything I’ve ever desired.

The training comes first.

Then the tournament.

After that...anything is possible.

I just need to survive to experience it all.

Inspired by the Wuxia, Xianxia, and Cultivation stories of Asian mythology, Champion is the complete trilogy in one book. It contains a shit-ton of magical, martial-arts action, and is set in a world where untraditional relationships are common.

If such things are not to your liking, you’re in the wrong place.

One of the quickest Nopes I've ever had

Protag starts out as a slave, surrounded by other slaves. They're being whipped and tortured to collect some magical power fruit. He eats one while the slave owner watches on, her hired enforcers beating the slaves non stop.

She beats him to within an inch of his life when he tries to escape.

Through all that, she's hot though, so he's still attracted to her.

This is all within the first hour.

Maybe an attraction could genuinely blossom over time if she's shown to not be a rotten, slave owning and torturing PoS (she is).

He's still a slave btw.

I noped out there.

I don't mess with that level of porn logic.

Maybe if she'd somehow rescued him, instead of just stopping him from escaping. And maybe if it took longer than the time it takes to see how hot she is to fall for her, I might have grit my teeth and bore it.

Maybe there's just something within me that finds slavery so revolting, that falling for your master makes me feel like there's ants crawling under my skin.

I don't need that in my life, thanks.

My Opinion on some reviews

I normally don't write reviews but I feel a need to correct some wrong reviews for this books series. I am also not afiliated with the author in any way just so you know (Believe me or not). The biggest one is that if the author says in the review they haven't read that far that should be a warning. Not that the book is terrible but that their review is BIAS! I would like to say that Jack is trying to make the best for his listeners by selling 3 books for 1! That is a steal you we should appreciate it if nothing else. Also before I start my (personal opinion) correction on others reviews if you look at the other singular books sold on audible they are all rated really well. It is only when this book became cheaper for us people started being overly negative.

Now going on to correct some things. The biggest upvoted review is a hater that goes on about slavery and while I understand the sentiment that doesn't mean that the book is trash just that there is some backstory about something unpleasant. If you hate it that much fine don't buy it, return it, but don't say the entire 3 book for 1 price is terrible. That is like spreading rumors on an overheard conversation. You could have it wrong not hear the whole story or heard something out of context. By doing that you are potentially permanently scaring the person you are spreading rumors about. Same goes for reviews, reviews written with only an hour or two of actual listening can hurt the authors sails and reputation.

Second is the one about Christian J. Gilliland having made the main character sound like a frog. I disagree I don't know how else to say that one his voice sounds fine and if you don't believe me listen to the audio sample of this book or any one of his other books. (there are a lot)

Please think before you review. Negative reviews can hurt people's livelihood if you are not careful. That being said I hope you take this review as well as all the other ones you read with a grain of salt. All reviews are personal opinions and the only real way you should decide if a book a good or not is by reading the bio and listening to it yourself. Happy listening

P.S. After finishing book 3 I need to correct the story stars from 5 to 3.5. To me the third book leaves me lacking, much harder to get through all of it. That being said if I could rate the overall portion 4.5 stars I would. Still a credit I think you should spend 20 hours worth $10.

Just no.

I did not make it to chapter 7. Gillard voice was annoying. I was fully expecting him to ribbit at any time. His cadence was off. He has taught me to listen to the sample before buying.

three fantastic books!

Great story and narration!

This is a fun izakai harem adventure series! The MC is reincarnated into a new world where martial prowess greatly affects one's life and status. He grasps a once in a lifetime opportunity and rockets his way into the martial world!

Christian and Jessica do a fantastic job with the narration!

Each of these first three books in the series are well worth a credit, but getting three for a single credit is a crazy good deal!

I thoroughly enjoyed the series up to this point and can't wait to find out what happens next!

Harem novel with a beastkin fetish

The story is similar to others of this genre, the human MC wakes-up in a different medieval-like realm, acquires a unique ability to gain lots of skills, and begins to level up and, eventually, begins to build a harem with horny female magic users.

There's only vague references to his prior life with little substantive backstory. The is a fair amount of intrigue that eventually surface as the story progresses and the tourney-style fight encounters are thrilling. The adult sections are fairly explicit which eventually go full group participation.

Christian J. Gilliland and Jessica Threet narration was performed well.

Pretty good

Really smooth story overall, I’m personally glad for the omnibus because it feels better together as one piece. Narration was good, characters were interesting enough. Good to pass the time.

Decent story ok narrator

I liked this story. It had one major flaw though. The guys s’s come out with a super sharp whistle like Herbert on family guy. Maybe not a big deal but I listen with noise cancelling headphones so it just killed my eardrums. The audio engineer should be fired.

Seriously,..

Author needs to go back to school so his teacher can tell him "show don't tell". An entire fucking book just to tell about the tutorial where the first third is just a stupidly long introductiob. Then two more books of long winded build up...

Excellent as usual

I've been a Jack Porter fan for a while now but somehow kept passing this series up. My mistake. That's been rectified now, so on with the review. Christian Gilliland and Jessica Threet are a great duo that give life and depth the characters. Then there is the story which I couldn't stop listening to. All in all, a really go value for the credit.

Multiple Audio Issues

The number of audio issues made the book cringy for me. Was good for a martial arts fantasy book but the character relationships were not written well.

An interesting trilogy

It was an interesting trilogy. The overall story was great, but honestly a but too much porn vibes at times. The ending wasn't wrapped up as nicely as I would have liked either, but still a good story.
