Publisher's Summary

The Library of the Profane has everything your black heart desires. But we don’t just allow anyone to get a library card.

Need to summon a demon? Raise the dead? A clan of vampires bothering you? Do you like the really nasty werewolf erotica? The Library of the Profane has all of that, but not everyone can handle the contents. (Some people can’t handle their werewolf erotica). I’ve been a librarian here for five years, and when I say I killed to get this job, I’m not being facetious.

You can’t check out our books. Some of the books are sentient and don’t like it. We have rooms to perform the spells in; hell, we do have a copy machine (copies are extra). When a witch came in and said they needed to do a little necromancy, I didn’t question it. They wouldn’t have been given a library card if they were going to raise someone really bad. I helped with the necromancy because it’s just my job as a librarian.

Except it wasn’t a normal resurrection. It was the physical embodiment of Chaos, and when he woke up, he saw me first, and now he’s attached. Chaos personified is a horrible library guest and he won’t leave with the witch who raised him. He’s constantly getting into things he’s not supposed to, and he’s really into the werewolf erotica.

It’s not like I can let him out, because the Library of the Profane is meant to contain Chaos. The rest of the world isn’t. He’s awful about keeping his identity secret, too. A warlock, a Hellhound, and a vampire know he’s here, and they are bugging me to let Chaos have a little fun.

I just want a normal day of summoning demons, cursing people, and telling people to be quiet in my library. This is too much.

Not enough to make me want to continue

I feel like this story had a lot of potential but was kind of a letdown. Anytime you name a badass female character Ripley, just assume your readers are picturing Sigourney Weaver (sp?). That was already contradictory to this character’s brand of “badassness.” The narrator’s voice didn’t help things. I didn’t enjoy it at all. Additionally, not much transpires during the course of this book. And everything seems fairly passive. Like the reader is just supposed to go with the flow. When the book ended, it was so abrupt; I almost missed it. I understand the story continues, but this installment didn’t seem to have much of an arch.

With the exception of the narrators for Chaos and for Felix, I didn’t like any of them. Ripley’s—especially—I felt unfitting. She sounds more like a mom.

Very Entertaining!

This was my first book by JB Trepagnier, and I will have to go and check out some of their other books.
Chaos was very entertaining and the full cast narration was awesome!
Ripley (FMC) is my favorite kind of character, full of lots of snark and sass.
All the characters were unique, well described and had their own voice actor.
It was nice that even though the group was on a mission to stop disaster they still had time for snuggles and witty banter.
I really enjoyed the humor JB Trepagnier infused into the story.
My only complaint was that the book could have been a little longer… but isn’t that always the way with the ones you enjoy.
I definitely recommend giving Chaos a try and I will be looking foreword to the next audio in the series.
Now I think I will go and try to find some werewolf porn 😉 you’ll get the joke after you listen.

I was provided with a free copy of this audiobook, but that in no way influenced my review.

A sexy librarian and all her men

Fun book with an interesting and unique plot that's easy to follow. If you like God's that tell you you're going to be his wife, talk of werewolf cock, shifters, vampires and more then take a read. There wasn't much sexy time, instead it sets up the characters for this future reverse harem. you're left on a minor cliff hanger and I plan to look for the next book now.

Brilliant Absolutely Stunningly Brilliant!

The library of the profane? Oh my word YES! Brilliantly written and fabulously narrated is the understatement of the year! Unbelievably witty, undeniably snarky, unimaginably unique, Chaos checked every one of my boxes! If I had to describe this fantastic audio in one word it would be Adult Fun! Okay, that’s two words. I guess I can’t be restrained any more than Chaos can, oops! THIS is the audio you didn’t realize you needed until you start it, and one you do, forget about stopping! I found THAT impossible! The heat builds at a appetizing slow burn pace, all the while keeping the listener fully engaged, amused, and wondering what on earth this delightful cast of unique characters will get up to next! What a way to kick off a series. As the saying goes, alway leave them wanting more, and JB Trepagnier and this amazingly talented cast of voice actors has done exactly that! I want more and I want it NOW! I can’t wait for the next book to release in audio! Five lip smacking, delicious stars!

Fun, steamy read!

JB Trepagnier does it again! A fun story, and the narration is *chef’s kiss*
I really love duet narration, and the cast was amazing! The characters have varied (read: crazy) personalities, and our FMC is a bad**s who just wants to tend to her library. Definitely recommend!

So entertaining!!!

Let me start by saying I asked for a free copy of this book for my unbiased review after I read the blurb for it.

From the beginning of the book, I was entertained. The snark and the humor is on point. I love all the different narrators, it gives real flavor to this story. Some of them I've enjoyed from other books.

I thought I was just getting something to fill in as background noise while I worked but was so very pleasantly surprised by this book, although I found myself frequently stopping my work to listen to the story.

This is a great listen and I can't wait to hear more.

Hilarious

I was not prepared for the hilarious story!
It was full of everything you could ask for, witches, warlocks, vampires, familiars, shifters, hellhounds. And a god.

There is something going on and the universe could be at stake, can this magical crew figure it out?

Lots of laughs, great banter, excellent narration! I can’t wait for the next book!

Everything you ant in a story

JB Trepagnier has another hit with this story. Her word building is good. There is lots going on mystery, lots of twists and turns . The author wrote a story that has great detail and description. You have a god a vampire a cat , a witch and a warlock and shifters. What happens when they all meet They meet at the library that the demon wants to do something with it.

The performance of Anneliese Rennie, Portia Kay Winters, Austin Barringer, Carl Mason, Antonio Amato, Aaron Shedlock, Liam Di Cosimo, Mike Johnson was fantastic . Love how they did each character and you were able to tell by their tone. Each performer is very talented

Must listen

Ever read a book that has you giggling like crazy and then on the edge of your chair from suspense? If not listen to this one because it will give you the desired effect. I loved listening as these characters started forming bonds and the storyline was building. It’s a fantastic book and I have loved the narration as well. This is one of those books that makes cleaning enjoyable as you become so invested in the storyline and the characters that there is no thought of will this cleaning ever end?

I loved this start to the series and will be so excited to listen to more about the Profane world
