Call me what you want: Bad Boy Next Door. Trouble. That Kid Who Can’t Do Anything Right. When Willow moves into my neighborhood, nothing should have happened. She’s geeky. Shy. A true wallflower. Willow is a good girl. Too good for me. And how the hell was I supposed to know that she’s related to Loren Hale - yeah, that douchebag celebrity that lives on my street. The same guy I've been pranking by spray painting vulgar words on his mailbox and worse. Much worse. I'm cursed. Simple as that. People who are cursed break everything they touch. And yet...I still want to touch her.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

In my defense, I was left alone with a bottle of single-malt and a lifelong penchant for protecting my baby sister. Still, that's no excuse to send 10 drunk-texts on why her hasty marriage would be a mistake. If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman. I also used the phrase “super hot wingman”, so I’d like to die now.

Ever hear the story about the bodyguard who falls for the rock star? Yeah, it never ends well. Each day I remind myself that it's my job to protect Stone. And nowhere in the job description does it say I should lust after the charismatic, charming man. Especially since we're opposites. But every night I spend with him the dangerous, off-limits attraction grows more intense. Until one night in a limo when we combust. One time only will have to be enough. One scorching, forbidden night. Because the mistakes from the past are chasing me. And if I give in again, I'll lose everything.

Look, when I met the sexy, witty Brit on the streets of London last night, I had no idea who he was. He was just that hot guy I wanted to have a drink with, so I asked him out for my first evening in town. One thing almost led to another. After a midnight kiss, we made plans for a whole lot more the next day. But when I unlock the door to my rental in the morning, the English hottie is lounging on the couch like he lives here too. Great. For the next year, I’ll be sharing a tiny flat with the sexiest guy I’ve ever known.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. You think you know me. That's the way I want it. Making you feel like we know each other - like we could go grab a beer sometime - is part of my job. Maybe the most vital part. It doesn't hurt that I'm easy on the eyes, single at 35, and born richer than sin. My aesthetic matters much more than it should, but all the better for my worthy cause. And it's a worthy cause. I've made an art out of making you feel good, and my influence makes you want to be good. Good like me. You think you know me, but you don't. Everyone has secrets. Mine could cost me everything.

Publisher's Summary
As the hottest bodyguard on Security Force Omega, Oscar Oliveira has no trouble finding a warm body at any odd hour. But he's ready for more.
And for the first time in this ex-pro boxer's life, he just got rejected. For a kiss.
Oscar's friends warned him not to fall for the straight guy, but flirty, sexy-as-hell Jack Highland made that difficult. Now Jack has Oscar's sweatshirt. His belt. His bandana. And Oscar seriously wants them back.
As for Jack - well, Jack wants a lot of things.
But for the first time in this confident filmmaker's life, he's absolutely 100 percent...confused. Add another ultra-complication in a sea of complicated: Enter Charlie Cobalt.
The enigmatic famous one who Oscar is sworn to protect wants his own show, and he's asked Jack to film it. A Charlie-centric docuseries will force Oscar and Jack to share the same air again.
Option one: Ignore each other.
Option two: Flirt, aw yeah. And act like the rejection never happened.
Option three: Confront each other about the rejected kiss.
With options on the table and their romantic lives unsettled, both Jack and Oscar are concerned about why Charlie wants his own show. And the longer filming lasts, the more tumultuous their personal and professional worlds become.
Chaos reigns when you're around the Cobalts, and Jack and Oscar are swept up among the most destructive one.

I prefer to listen to books rather than read books. This was one of the few books that I read first because I was so excited that I couldn't wait for the audiobook. This book was a one click purchase, turn off current audiobook and start CLU. This book is amazing. I love love love the famous families. While I'm firmly on Team Hale, I couldn't help loving Charlie Cobalt for what he does. Teddy Hamilton is the perfect Jack. I haven't ever listened to Brian Pallino before. I really enjoyed his narration and will be checking out more from him.

Very sweet story!
Charming Like Us was a sweet addition to the Like Us series. It was entertaining to get into the minds of Oscar and Jack, characters who've really only been on the periphery of the series so far. Although it felt a little odd not having one of the three families in a starring roll! But we got a good dose of Charlie, which I really liked- he was like the 3rd main character in Charming Like Us. Even without his point of view we learned some interesting things about him, which just showed how much more there is to him than we've seen so far. I'm not sure I'll ever really forgive him completely, when it comes to how he treated Moffy, but getting the peeks into him that we did, color me intrigued- I hope he eventually gets his own book,
This was a lighter, easier read than the other books in the Like Us series, even though Jack and Oscar faced some of the same troubles the famous ones do, thanks to the crazy "fans". But overall you won't find the same angst and drama as the other books, which was a nice change of pace for these two.
I thought Jack and Oscar were really sweet together and I enjoyed their romance. It was a little on the insta side, especially when it came to Jack- considering he'd never imagined he'd fall for a man. But I liked that once he really faced his feelings there wasn't much hesitation on his part. And I was happy for Oscar, after all his worries and embarrassments, getting the man he wanted!
Brain Pallino is a new to me narrator, but after listening to this book you can bet I'll be searching out other ones he's narrated! He was terrific as Oscar, I liked the deep, gruffness to his voice. And Teddy Hamilton, he's pretty much narrator perfection, in my humble opinion, He always does such a great job of bringing the vulnerability to a character, I think that's one of the best things about him. And his Jack was no exception. I really enjoyed listening to this book, having Brain and Teddy brings the characters to life was a treat!

Incredulous Like Us...
Like the other books in the series, this one requires a HUGE suspension of disbelief just to get through it. But this one might have the weakest and most far-fetched plot. Straight guys don't go date guys this quickly. From attraction to dating to coming out and meeting the parents in under a month. But the manufactured melodrama between the siblings is completely unreasonable in scope--it's an extremely weak backstory.

Love, Love, Love!!!!!!
I was so excited to start this book! This is one of my favorite series. I think I am in love with Oscar! He and Jack are such a good match. I finished this one with the same silly grin that I had on my face after Moffy and Farrow’s books! The narration was perfection! I could listen to “Oscar’s” voice all day long.

Amazing and worth the wait!
And another bodyguard finds his happily ever after!
Being able to jump into Oscar’s world was incredible. Fast paced, stressful, but wonderful at the same time. Seeing him and Jack fall for each other and explore one another was beautiful and perfect.
I also adored being able to see more of Charlie, he’s just a lost soul crying out for help. I really hope we get a HEA for him in the future.
For now, cannot wait for WLU, Sulli is about to take us on the ride of her life. And I really hope we get more of Luna and certain troubles tattoo artist/bodyguard

Feel good romance
The narrators knocked this out of the park!
This really is the perfect standalone romance novel. Oscar and Jack are the cutest and softest couple so far. Their support and love for each other makes me giddy. I loved the angst and drama at the beginning of the book, which later turned into this beautiful romance. While I'm sad this is the only book they get, I really couldn't have asked for a better story for them.
This book picks up right where book 6 ends. Oscar is dealing with the most embarrassing moment of his life and Jack is trying to figure out his feelings for Oscar. We see a whole different side to these characters, throughout the past few books, these characters have been seen at a very surface level, and here we finally take a dive into their thoughts and personalities. And there was a lot to unpack here.
I loved meeting Jack and Oscar's families. Jack's younger brother Jesse was adorable! One of my favorite supporting characters in this book. I really enjoyed seeing Oscar's relationship with his siblings. His relationship with his younger sister Joana was filled with love, while Oscar and Quinn's broke my heart.
We also see a lot of Charlie Cobalt! At the beginning of the story he decides he wants his own show, for reasons unknown to us. I loved seeing just a glimpse of the way he thinks and makes decisions. We see a little bit of a softer and more compassionate side of him (just a bit). But I really can't wait to see his POV, I really hope one day we get it. And I think I saw a little tease of his romance there at the end. He deserves love and happiness and not to have so much pain inside him ahhh.
Next we (finally!) have Sulli's romance. This has been a long time coming, and we've finally made it. The ending of this book sets us her romance really well for the next book and I honestly cannot wait. Sulli is my favorite character and I am so excited to have her POV. It's going to be wild...

Great story with realistic characters & excellent performances. Love the stories like this. Stories where the characters show us that love & patience are the true winning combination

Didn't engage with story or characters
DNF - couldn't get into Oscar as a character, too much posturing and couldn't really see where the story was supposed to be going - other than the obvious - a supposedly straight guy falling for a gay guy (yawn)!

Good book but needs an editor.
I enjoyed the book. It was fun, witty, and one of them was a Slytherin, so... Yesss!!
The characters are adorable, funny, delightful, and so damn hot! I loved the slight twist of the love interest since it wasn't the usual bodyguard/client story.
It was beautifully written, with great dialogues, and it usually takes me a few chapters to get into the story, but I was impressed at how easily I got hooked with this book.
And the narrators... what can I say? They are superb 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 those two men can read anything! Gorgeous!
The only issue is that the authors need an editor and fast. Because the book lasts more than it should've thanks to unnecessary plots with the families and extra characters that not only did they add nothing to the story, but they damaged the entire book, since their extra plots were incredibly dull, long, pointless, and took you entirely out of the story to a point where you just skip the audio 30 min every time someone says... my brother or my sister... and you literally missed nothing.
They could've easily cut 5 hours of the book, and the main/good part of the story would've remained intact.
It was a good/ok book, but with an editor, it could have been a great one. A memorable one.

Great Instalment!!
This has to be one of my favourites from the series😁
I love the characters Oscar and Jack - so well suited!
It was nice to hear more about Charlie, explaining in depth more of his character and that he isn’t the bad boy everyone believes him to be - not all the time anyway.
Excellent storyline and characters, with the usual family characters in cameo.
What I was surprised at was the change in narrators.
Usually used to listening to the dulcet tones of Alexander Cendese and J F Harding. This is the first time I’ve heard these narrators Pallino/Hamilton - don’t get me wrong, they narrated well, just used to the Cendese/Harding duo!
Definitely worth 5🌟’s

Loved it!
I wasn’t sure I’d like this book as much as the others as it was directly about one of the famous ones but in some ways, I enjoyed it more as there was less emotional drama. Although saying that, Charlie played quite a big part in this book so there is some drama!
I have never been a fan of the meddlesome Charlie but he had now been forgiven. I think and I’m finally starting to understand and appreciate him more. Like him? We’ll see. As always, this was an amazing story on audio and the narrators really brought the characters to life.
