My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me. Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years.

Publisher's Summary
Bloodlust and dark forces are at work at the House of Night....
Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird's adventures at the school are about to take a mysterious turn. Those who appear to be her friends are turning out to be enemies. And, oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends. So begins the gripping third installment of this "highly addictive series" (Romantic Times), in which Zoey's mettle will be tested like never before.
Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn't have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae discover about the secretive and sinister power that's turning dead fledglings into bloodsucking monsters must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity. Speaking of rare: Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected position of having three boyfriends. Mix in more than a little forbidden desire to the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster of massive proportions.
Then, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like the People of Faith, and Zoey's horrid step-loser in particular, are tired of living side by side with vampyres. But, as Zoey and her friends find out, things are not always what they seem....
Chosen is the third audiobook in the House of Night series by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast.

Please Stop Changing Readers
I have loved this House of Night series for years and I have re-read the books many times. The books get 5 Stars! The first two books were read by an amazing reader, Edwina Wren, and she was phenomenal. Then one of the worst readers I’ve ever heard read the third book and after just a couple chapters I returned it. I have 110 books in my library and Caitlin Davies is a horrible reader and unfortunately it looks like she has read several House of Night books which disappoints me. I have heard many readers but she is the worst except for Cassandra, who sounds like a 10 year old, and I think I’m just going to have to read them myself the old fashioned way. Please Audible or book publisher, stop changing readers and choose a professional reader that is older than 10, or at least sounds like it, and can captivate the listener. It really is a shame because the book series will suffer when new fans listen to the audio book first and not actually read the books.

Worst narrator ever!
I’ve read the series probably five times over, and absolutely love it even in my 20s. It’s easier for me to listen to it now. The first two were a great performance, but Caitlin Davies makes this almost unbearable. Her cadence isn’t human, she emphasizes the wrong parts of sentences, and makes other characters sound so wrong. I know it’s an old book and an old recording but holy cow, I don’t know if I can finish it.

Caitlin Davies is the worst narrator I’ve ever listened to! Her performance is robotic and halting. She puts the emphasis on the wrong parts of the sentences and has a horrible cadence! The whole thing is abysmal! I couldn’t even finish listening to it!!

I was hooked from the get go on this series!! it hooks you and leaves you wanting to listen all the time. I cant wait until I start the next book!! the narrator is a good actress and gives each character their own voice so you can easily distinguish between characters.

Face palm
I’ve read almost the entire series when I was a teen and I gotta say this is my least favorite in general. Spoiler***
I cannot stand this book. It’s almost like Zoey decided to be the biggest idiot in the world in this book. I understand we make mistakes but the first two books her personality and her morals were strong. This book she pissed it all away and made huge mistakes on top of mistakes. She can’t put her foot down with any of her “boyfriends” and it’s infuriating she couldn’t just break it off with Eric to save him from being hurt further. I understand why she didn’t tell her friends about Neferet or Stevie but the part where Stevie Ray shows up at school (at the end) and they’re all shocked, it bothered me so much that that scene was dragged out so long when in reality Zoey should have just spit it out about what was going on but everyone kinda just stood there making small jokes and not reacting fast enough because clearly someone texted Stevie ray and it wasn’t zoey. Zoey knew this. But instead of rushing around it she just stands there wasting time. I hate Zoey In this book. She has no control over herself.

Intense drama
This book had a large helping of drama, and it kept me hooked. It's hard to imagine so much going so wrong, but it did. Some was satisfactorily resolved, others not so much, but all of it was entertaining. Toward the end, it was intense enough that I had to stop everything just to listen, though I usually do chores and listen at the same time. I'll be getting the next book immediately!
