Story
This explosive work of history unearths clues that finally demonstrate the truth about one of the world's great religions: that it was born out of the conflict between the Romans and messianic Jews who fought a bitter war with each other during the first century. The Romans employed a tactic they routinely used to conquer and absorb other nations: they grafted their imperial rule onto the religion of the conquered.

Story
The Destruction of Black Civilization is revelatory and revolutionary because it offers a new approach to the research, teaching, and study of African history by shifting the main focus from the history of Arabs and Europeans in Africa to the Africans themselves. The book, thus, offers "a history of blacks that is a history of blacks".

Story
Africa is the continent where the first humans were born. They explored the vast land and produced the first tools. And although we migrated from that continent, we never completely abandoned it. From the beginning of time, humans lived and worked in Africa, leaving evidence of their existence in the sands of the Sahara Desert and the valleys of the great rivers such as the Nile and the Niger.

Story
Guyanese intellectual Walter Rodney emerged as one of the leading thinkers and activists of the anticolonial revolution. In 1980, shortly after founding of the Working People's Alliance in Guyana, the 38-year-old Rodney would be assassinated. In his magnum opus, Rodney incisively argues that grasping "the great divergence" between the West and the rest can only be explained as the exploitation of the latter by the former. This meticulously researched analysis of the repercussions of European colonialism in Africa remains an indispensable study for grasping global inequality today.

Building upon extensive studies from the past four decades and their own archaeoastronomical and hieroglyphic research, the authors show how the early Black culture known as the Cattle People not only domesticated cattle but were also an advanced civilization.

Publisher's Summary
Nothing is new or original in Christianity. That is the important thesis demonstrated in Christianity Before Christ. The least important features, as well as the most important components, were all well developed in cultures that flourished before the time that Christ is alleged to have walked the parched paths of Roman Palestine. The information presented in this audiobook is absolutely crucial if atheists and other free thinkers are to understand the nature of the beast that threatens not only their liberties and rights as citizens in a secular republic, but also threatens to return world civilization itself back to the prescientific levels of the ancient cultures from which Christianity derived all its odd details. Every atheist needs to know what is in this audiobook!

The Afrikan diaspora should listen to this daily..
I will listen to this at least thrice. A breath of fresh air, when removing the mental shackles of religion(modern day Christianity) from ones mind. I do not believe in God, for I know I am a triumvirate of three. Goddess, God & Devil. The world is but a play on the mental hemisphere of the individual($).

Could have been so good.
While Jackson gathered many stories and practices he never actually puts it into a convincing construct. Dates are important yet he list so very few, not allowing the development of a useful timeline. Too many words, too little glue.

Shocked. I am amazed at how good this is today. And yes, I too thought "atheist" meant something much different. Makes leading into this review a bit mire difficult. I was one of those babies raised in the house of Gauwud. Ya that's a good place to start. I REALLY wanted to believe. Meanwhile the not-so-stupid part of me was trying to make sense of it all under the fear boot of the church. I never could even begin to move forward until I recognized I had to let go of some things. Getting to that point not so simple either. In my studies of deception detection I had one very useful take-away: It's easy to believe a lie when you want to. Please feel free to rearrangethat statement in any algebraic way you can. Put like it is, I had to de-program! That ...is ...hard ...and ...very, very scary. I can almost say they can no longer scare me, but with honesty toward scars I CAN say at least, my strings are cut. By now you may be wondering about the actual review. I just spotted this today, downloaded, read, and I will listen again! GET THIS ONE. LISTEN. There you go. Don't be a puppet and actually listen.

A disappointing book based on a misquote
When I listened to the sample I was intrigued by the quote from a church patriarch. He notes how Christianity has always been and Christ is the crux of the that story.
Then the author takes this snippet and uses it without context to try and prove that Christianity always was because it took pieces from other world religions.
Unfortunately these are also snippets and half truths. Much more research was needed to write a book like this and ironically the author admits a lack of knowledge by being unable to read important facts in their original language.

was a struggle... not sure what I was expecting but this was a book that in the 1st chapter, I could have explained what they eventually got to at the ending. which I have to say was shocking to actually hear a white person actually say! seemed as if it was trying to avoid the inevitable but. Kutos and Luv really didn't think that would be actually stated. shocked the books rated so high. truth is often told but not accepted or as this book showed is white washed! much Luv,prayers, blessings, and success

Worth a listen
I would say go ahead and read it because it was enjoyable hearing all the different traditions in major societies around the world, particularly Egypt, and I imagine it's a classic among atheistic books on religion. I just don't know how accurate or up-to-date it is as someone unfamiliar with the field. I'm sure there have been major strides in the field of comparative religion in the past 70 years.
