Story
Ever since Ryan Bellamy’s wife died, he hardly knows how to celebrate Christmas. He’s decided to take his daughter Zoe to Florida, and Evergreen is just a quick stop on the way to the airport. While they’re there, Zoe partakes in a local tradition, making a Christmas wish on the snow globe at the town diner. But neither Allie’s nor Ryan’s Christmas goes as planned. They’ve checked their wish lists twice, and they didn’t say anything about meeting someone new...or about a fresh chance at love.

Story
While promoting her next novel, a Christmas love story, author Riley Reynolds is caught off guard when she’s asked during a live national television interview how she can write about romance when she still hasn’t found “the one” herself. Scrambling for an answer, she quickly answers that she has had great love in her past and that love inspired her novels. Little does she know that this one offhanded remark will turn her world upside down. Three of her ex-boyfriends see the interview, and each, believing she’s talking about him, shows up for her Christmas Camp book event.

Christmas Charms
Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson
Contemporary holiday romance by Harlequin Publishing. Second chance troupe.
When Ashley’s long time boyfriend rolls his eyes on getting married, Ashley breaks up with him and goes home for the Christmas holiday. She is gifted with a magical charm bracelet that seems to match her experiences at home as she reconnects with prior hometown boyfriend and friends.
Sweet, poignant and magical.
Ashley assesses her life, her goals and her perception of her home town. And Aidan is always there. The decorated home, the snowman and snowball fight, the dog, the ice skating, the good friend are all standard Hallmark trademarks. It doesn’t matter. The author does a marvelous job weaving the story with sentiment and that touch of fantasy that makes it a breathtaking romance.
I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Arielle DeLisle. The performance was very well done with distinct voice for the heroine and hero and various other characters. I listened to this at 1.3 which felt like the most natural conversational speed.

Good Christmas HEA
I love a good second chance romance and this is a cute holiday read. As you can imagine from the publisher, it reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie: a woman finding her way in her career and her love life by being back in her home town, lots of Christmassy traditions and sweet moments, family and friends that are almost too good to be true. Of course it’s predictable, but no one’s reading this kind of story for the plot twist. The narrator fit the character well but I found her delivery a bit tough to listen to. The only thing I really struggled with was that there are some descriptions that the author uses over and over. I’m not sure I would have noticed in the text version but in audio it was a bit much. Overall though, it was a sweet seasonal bit of escapism and by the end I found myself really rooting for the couple (and ready to move to Owl Lake!)

A Seasonal Treat
If books can be comfort food, be comforted. I have listened several times over the years & find it full of what we like in a holiday read. Likeable characters, snow, small town homey-ness, romance, etc. My favorite part is the main female character realizing who she is & what she is all about. I recommend to romantics. The narrator does a good job with male & female voices.
