Magical retellings of three classic fairy tales, read by Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan. Cinderella: poor orphan girl Cinderella longs to go to the grand royal ball, but her cruel stepmother and stepsisters won't allow it. Can her fairy godmother help her dreams come true? The Brave Tin Soldier: when a one-legged tin soldier falls in love with a beautiful ballet dancer with golden wings, it is just the start of his adventures. The Ugly Duckling: Mother Duck's brood of little ducklings are all adorable - except for one. The ugly duckling is large, grey and awkward. But he has a surprise in store....

Listen to classic favorites

These 3 stories: Cinderella, the Tin Soldier and the Ugly Duckling, are the classics you remember. Narrated with character and each only about 10 minutes long, they are easy to listen to1 or more at a time. Would make great bedtime stories.

Classic Tales

I like happy endings and would have liked them all to end more happily but the narrators and authors did well.

Forced happy ending

Good voices and good interpretation of the text. Unfortunately the stories read are not the original, promoting forced happy ending and forgiveness with a shocking "suicide" of a ballerina dancer willfully flying in the fire... A tad too much.
