Publisher's Summary

Samuel deserves to die a thousand deaths.

I was so close to going home and then he ruined it all. Now, I have to focus on how to survive because I don’t think I can go home. And to be honest, after a few more nights with Benny, I’m not sure I even want to.

Plus, the more I learn about the circus, the more intrigued I become. I discover that I have abilities I couldn’t have even dreamed of, if I’d stayed in California.

But, if I’m to survive, I might have to embrace dark magic.

Can I do that without losing myself? Or, am I destined to become evil?

Captivating!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Callie continues her battle with Samuel. In this installment, I feel like we get to know Samuel a bit better and I did not like him at all. Callie continues her game with Samuel during the book and at the end only one can be a winner. The plot twists were great and I didn’t see them coming. The narrator, Sarah Puckett did a wonderful job portraying Callie and the other characters.

Great Cliffhanger Ending!!

Wow!! what an awesome cliffhanger ending. Callie grew alot in this book, personally and in her powers. I liked her more than in the first book. The world the author has created is so interesting. The narrator is one of my faves & does a fabulous job bringing the characters & stpry to life.

Couldn’t stop listening

I couldn’t stop listening to this story. Usually I listen to audible only when I am multitasking and can’t sit down to read. However, I couldn’t stop listening to this story and ultimately finished it in one day. Although I sometimes think too much is expected of a 16 year old, overall the story is gripping. Ends in a cliffhanger that was completely unexpected. I can’t wait to listen to the next book.

Callie is so determined

Callie is so determined to figure out what is going to happen and how to get off the island. She learns that Samuel puts little things in his contracts that make it so that if anyone tries to hurt him someone can die. This isn't revealed until it is too late and Callie is left feeling so much guilt for what happens to the islanders next. Book three here I come.

Creepy, Creepy Fun

I was given a copy of the audiobook and I’m leaving an honest review.

4.5

So much creepy fun!

I love these characters. Callie, well, I wouldn’t say she’s the brightest bulb in the box but I’m enjoying following her story.

Samuel! I love him! Well, I hate him. But I love to hate him. Seriously, a villain I really enjoyed. So dark. He gave me the creeps and I loved it. I want more villains like him.

The rest of the cast of characters are all well developed and interesting in their own ways. It’s been a while since I read a book that I felt like I couldn’t get enough of it. I’m on the edge of my seat for book three. How do I get on Ms. Loth’s ARC team???!???

I really enjoyed this as an audiobook. The narrator is very good. I recommend it either in print or in audio.

Thrilling, suspenseful second book in the series

This exciting continuation follows on directly from where the Circus Of The Dead book one left off. Trapped back on the island, Callie discovers abilities she never knew she was capable of and makes plans to try to escape again. Samuel increases the pressure for her to either become his concubine or die. Benny comes to her aid in a most unusual way but not before she has made some far-reaching mistakes. Things don’t go as Callie planned, as all is not as it seems on the island and at the end of the book you are left shocked and dying to find out what will happen next. The narrator of the audiobook is easy to listen to, keeps a good pace and gives the characters individual voices. This is a great series and I look forward to the next audiobook in the series.

Absolutely perfect!

I have already read this entire series, but I loved it so much I also wanted to listen to it. I'm not disappointed at all! Reading this book was absolutely amazing, but hearing it come to life was even better. I cannot wait to listen to the rest of the series. It's definitely a favorite ❤️

Didn't see that coming.

Oh my gosh, this series is amazing. Just when I think it can't possibly get any better, it absolutely does. The storyline is very unique, I've never read anything quite like this. This island is shrouded in so much mystery, there are somethings you will see coming. But it's the things you don't see coming that make this so jaw dropping, I'm not one for the circus as clowns creep me out. Still reading this, has it's jump scare moments. The characters are so well written, that even the bad guys steal your heart. Callie is stubborn and headstrong, but lacks confidence. She's definitely a great main character, and Samuel and Benny are very interesting. This book ended with a cliffhanger, that has left me totally reeling. This is a series that is definitely worth reading, and will possibly become a top favourite for most people.

Unpredictable twists and turns

Unpredictable twists and turns that keep you guessing. I liked finding out more about Samuel but he was a little bit yikes at some points! Overall the world building and fast paced story in this book makes up for any down falls I feel for the character flaws I occasionally have definitely well worth a read.

Again the narrator for this audiobook has captured the characters and pace of the story absolutely perfectly!
