Alice

My name is Alice, and I live in the Bugpocalypse.

I survived my first post-apocalyptic winter, and spring is here. That’s bad news! With warm weather comes the endless swarms of deadly bugs.

I need to forage for food, but there’s just one little problem. Okay, so “little” isn’t the best word to describe the fierce Xarc’n warrior who is obsessed with me. Kaj’k is freakin’ huge! And his sharp claws, pointy fangs, and massive horns are scary AF.

I reject his gift of food and flowers, but my massively muscled alien hunter doesn’t get the hint. He tosses me over his shoulders and carries me to his shuttle. I expect the worst, but all he does is purr at me.

Kaj’k

I’ve spent my entire life fighting the swarm. Genetically engineered to hunt the scourge across the galaxy, Xarc’n hunters are the ultimate predators. It takes a lot to take one of us down. Then I meet the little human female who brings me to my knees.

My Alice is full of fire, and I have no doubt she can survive on her own. But she’s my mate, and she’s mine to protect. When cannibals and scourge threaten my female, I toss her over my shoulder and carry her to my ship.

Now that I have my mate in my arms, I’m never letting her go!

If you’re missing IPB

If you’re missing Ice Planet Barbarians I HIGHLY recommend this. Honestly enjoyable and a little silly. Not crazy spicy but a nice light book. Def worth the listen.

Great new alien series

Post apocalyptic story dealing with large flesh eating bugs, having to scavenge for food, and no working government. Women are looked at as commodities so they often break away from the human groups. Trying to make their way together, two friends, Alice and Natalie, make a home for themselves in the rubble constantly looking out for trouble from the bugs and the men. The people of earth blame aliens for the scourge of the humongous bugs, so relations with the alien warriors is not good. The aliens, however, are fighting against the large bugs, trying to save as many humans as they can. Kaj'k scents his mate in Alice one day while she was foraging and begins to court her. Terrified of him at first, she rebuffs him, but as he gently and courteously tries to befriend her while always being there when she needed help, her view of him softens. Lots of great world and character building make this a story one you don't want to end. Humor, battles, friendships and quirks also lend to it's enjoyment. Both narrators are great, fitting the characters well. Worth the time for sure!

Narration Perfection

Beyond loving this alien romance about a human & alien warrior escaping loneliness & finding love; I absolutely LOVED the narration for this. I love it when a male & female share the narration on a story, and the people narrating this were absolutely perfect, especially Troy Duran. He had the perfect voice for our Xarc’n warrior. Definitely recommend the story, and even more so, with it coming to life with just the right voices.

I’d like my own Hunter.

First about the story; this series is one of my absolute favorites. It’s just something about the devastation of a bugpocalypse, finding love and learning to live with a new normal. The characters are people that you can relate to. The kind that you say hi to as you run and grab the mail. Even the Xarc’n warriors are the kinda of guys you want next to you when the going gets tough. With each book in the series I fell a little more in love the world and the characters in it.

Second about the voice actors….um yeah the male voice actor, Troy Duran, had a voice that makes you get all tingly feeling in all the right ways lol seriously delicious and sexy! The female voice actor, Keira Stevens, is sexy, fun and really made me feel like she was Alice.

I truly hope you give this one a listen! I highly recommend this fantastic read!

Enjoyable listen

This story, series start, was a lot more enjoyable than I had anticipated. It's pretty straight forward, but I liked the low drama and simplicity of it. The story is just a slice in time and think that is going to make the entire series different than the typical saving the universe/saving my people themes.

The books are all out on Audible, but story length and prices vary so keep that in mind if you are using credits only to purchase.

Bug-apocalyptic Nightmare

This would be my worst nightmare - to be afraid of the teeny-tiny bugs we currently have on earth, and then have earth be taken over by a giant bug alien scourge. But, the handsome purple warrior desiring to keep me happy and safe would be a nice plus… Alice and Kaj’k have a non-traditional courtship - he “stalks'' her for season, she rebluffs him, he saves her from a bug hoard, etc. I loved Alice’s spunky personality and her perseverance; add in Kaj’k’s swoony instance that Alice’s happiness is paramount. The narration of this story is superb: Troy is amazing as the growly hunky Kaj’k, while Keira brings spine, grit and spunk to Alice. An exciting story to listen to.

Funny apocalyptic love story with plenty of heart.

I kind of loved this story. It was funny, entertaining, and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. Natalie was awesome. She was down to earth and a realist but she also had a pretty good attitude. Alice and Natalie were cousins that had survived the bug apocalypse (so far). Every time Alice went out to forage she had to chance running into the bugs, cannibals, or the alien warriors that had arrived to fight the scourge (bugs). Kaj’k was an alien warrior and he was determined to find his female and destroy the scourge. Alice and Kaj’k had chemistry but Alice had heard things about the warriors that made her fight her attraction to him. There was plenty of “funny business” some drama and a touch of angst. I loved their happily ever after even though I wanted more. I recommend reading this book.

Listening to the audiobook was enjoyable as well. The narrators did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. I recommend listening to the audiobook if you have the chance.

Who wouldn't want a sexy alien warrior devoted to

Listened to audio narrated well by Keira Stevens and Troy Duran. These narrators were AWESOME! Duran's Kay'k voice gave me goosebumps and Stevens delivered an equally good performance. I highly recommend this audiobook and these narrators.

Alice and her cousin Natalie are trying to survive the Scourge invasion on their own. After Natalie is injured it's up to Alice to do the foraging. She's only been able to count on her cousin and herself. Her dreams of finding someone special up in smoke ever since the invasion.

Kaj'k is a genetic alien created to fight the Scourge. He's led a lonely existence but Alice gives him hope. When he scents Alice, he watches over her from a far over the winter. Once spring arrives, he starts to reach out to her, but once she's endangered by a human gang he places her and her cousin under his protection.

Lonely, incredible alien warrior protector wins Alice over and proves he'll not only take care of her but her heart as well, all while slaughtering the Scourge."
