Our thought lives have incredible power over our mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. In fact, our thoughts can either limit us to what we believe we can do or release us to experience abilities well beyond our expectations. When we choose a mindset that extends our abilities rather than placing limits on ourselves, we will experience greater intellectual satisfaction, emotional control, and physical health. There are many reasons for a person to develop anxiety, but the outcome is the same: difficulty in properly living. It can negatively impact every aspect of your life, including your interaction with your partner. This could become an opening for other problems to occur, no matter how much you love him/her or how seemingly "normal" things currently are. Maybe you've encountered some already, like one day you're okay with them, then the next day you're upset because of jealousy, and self-doubt.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Don't buy this book buy the app instead
heard about this women on a podcast and i thought she was so great and the ideas were so interesting i wanted to read about them. There is useful information in this book but it's literally read as a ad. she repeats the same phrases literally 5 or so times every chapter and it essentially boils down to a 6 hour ad for her app(which also costs money) overall terrible book great ideas though if explained properly. Save your time and get the app instead if you are interested like i was.

Cool research, but very repetitive
Like another reviewer mentioned, the content in this audiobook is very repetitive--to the point that I wondered if I should continue at some points. Aside from that, the content does share a helpful method for reframing negative thoughts along with practical examples of how to do so. But I can't help wishing it were more concise and cut out all of the fluff. I think the author's YouTube videos on the topic of neurocycling are better in that respect.

Maybe a rewrite??
Wow. I’m only saying this in the hopes an author can revise this. I couldn’t even finish it. The repetitive information is killing me so I finally just went to the chapter that by title should lay out the 5 steps in detail and from the lost earring story to the head severed story, I got nothing except what was already repeated over and over again and I just had enough. I think a professional reader would do this book some good too.

I knew with in 20 seconds that this book was going to disappoint
Your body can go 40+ days without food. Over a week with out water....
There is no forced treatment in mental health.
I know for a FACT... the ones that are made to make their own decisions in a state of psychosis because it is “their right” suffer the most.
So disappointed in this book.

Authors Voice is calming to listen too. I simultaneously used the neuro cycle App whilst listening to the Audio Book over a couple of weeks.
This gave me a lot better understanding and confidence that the program would work. So far after
11 days in my sleep has improved dramatically. Mainly due to doing my writing every morning vis the app. Yes, there is a lot of repetition in the book, In my opinion it's needed to remember better.

Game changer
Thank you so much. The thought of really listening to and breaking down my toxic thoughts scared me so much at first I immediately deleted the whole audio book 😂
I soon recovered and have since started using the app. Your technique is really helping me. I have stopped trying to push away my thoughts, and rather look at them with curious eyes and ask them what they are trying to tell me in a positive and constructive way. After a bit of attention, they much more obediently settle comfortably back into my head .
This book is repetitive, but only in that it repeatedly addresses key points, which I found useful.

monotonous reading of research material.
I bought this book after watching her interview on Youtube and was interested in applying specific 5 steps she continually mentioned. To come to those 5 steps you need to endure listening for hours about her research that led to writing this book then some really weird examples of their application ( lost earing in her bath tub)...I fell asleep several times while listening in the middle of the day waiting for her to get to the point. Too much info on research and her"Leaf" scale of rating and too long for anyone who is looking to help themselves as the instructors on exactly how to do that are nowhere as detailed and long or relatable as they would have to be. I was so excited to start listening to this book but that quickly ( or not so quickly as I was nearly 4 hours in before she even started talking about those steps) turned into disappointment and frustration. I do appreciate all the research she has done but I truly don't need to know every detail of it, every step she took in order to prove that these steps work and countless comparison between the test groups as that just felt like reading a very lengthy research paper that you never intended to read...she could have shortened the whole book for at least 40% and go to the point of it as per it's title ( editing ).
