Publisher's Summary

The first wave was just the beginning....

The United States is in ruins. It has just suffered one of the worst hurricanes in history; the people are demoralized, and the president is a religious fanatic. Then things get really bad - the Clickers return.

Thousands of the monsters swarm across the entire nation and march inland, slaughtering anyone and anything they come across. But this time, the Clickers aren't blindly rushing onto land - they are being led by an intelligence older than civilization itself. A force that wants to take dry land away from mammals. Those left alive soon realize that they must do everything and anything they can to protect humanity - no matter the cost. This isn't war; this is extermination.

Loved it, but had a few stretches

Spoiler: How did the dark 1s know Washington DC was the US government center? I know they are supposed to be intelligent, but where did they get such information from? Also, how did they know about backup generators and how to disarm them? Being intelligent and having information from out of nowhere is not the same. Also, that administration and it's members were tf outta here lol. The president had no checks and balances, his advisors did nowhere near any advising. He said anyone who posts that story and refuses to stop will be executed. Sounds like some Amendments being violated to me and none of his people around him were like nah. Good series thus far, just a few things that weren't really believable, or shall I say, weren't explained well.

um... kay

great concept but good lord could he beat you over the head with his politics any harder. the story is great when it sticks to the actual story but the minute he starts trying to inject social commentary (and he does) its about aa subtle, and as gentle, as a hammer to the head. I enjoy the world but please stop shoving your leftist ideology down my throat. Worth a listen tho if you are into lovecraftian horror.

Great narrator. Meh story and politics.

Started off just fine, but devolved into politics. Story was pretty mindless and nothing new was really added. Not bad, but not a great addition.

Uh?

Whats with the character "tim"? Seriously, this book and the one previously are fun little popcorn horror movies of books, knowing that's what they are and reveling in it. There's alot of over the top cheesy stuff, Monsters that should be silly but are deadly, ect, but the tim character and what happens with him is out of nowhere and frankly a reason i removed a star from the story. It adds nothing and had me scratching my head as i was taken out of the narrative. Some people are saying the book is too political, and maybe its just because i'm not a christian, but the president does seem for sure like the type of person who would break under the weird circumstances of the book. I suspect people don't like it because of the angle of the president and why he breaks rather than him doing it. Eh, for me it just as fine if the president went power mad any other way, i don't truly mind it. Overall its fun but while the first book was a rocky ride and meant to be that way, this one was off the rails in some truly odd ways. The narrator was good, i quite liked him.

Everything You Want In Monster Movie

Monsters. Surprise. Gore. And easily hated idiot antagonists. This series should be made into movies yesterday. But this entertaining jaunt into lovecraftian horror makes car rides and long walks into adventures.

Such a let down

I enjoyed the first one so of course I gave the sequel a chance. The story is pretty disappointing and I struggled to get through the long winded bs. Save your credit and time for something else.

Next wave Is Tidal!

I’d personally suggest clickers II to anyone who either enjoyed the first book or enjoys horror fiction that takes absolutely no prisoners. The story kept me reading until the final sentence.

The best fan-fiction I’ve heard yet!

“You know that part in the horror movie where the main character does something really stupid and the audience hates them for it? This is it!”
Trisha Jenner - Jeepers Creepers.

Okay. That’s me communicating how I feel about this audio book with a quote from the all-time best B horror movie.
Ya’ follow?
I enjoyed this audio book more than many more main-stream horror/action books written by big name authors.

It was refreshing to have a male character face a terrible situation almost exclusively aimed at female characters.

Excellent narration by Chet Williamson, a man who can voice both male & female characters, with & with no accents, believably - and all without overacting. Hoo-ray!

CLICKERS II - Thumbs up.

Ugghhhh!!! Politics!!!

I think a lot of us read to escape politics? Perhaps, reality in general at least for a while. I know I certainly read crappy monster stories for this reason. This one is rife with politics! Now that im invested in going to get the third.....I hope it is more enjoyable than this one was.
