I was a top-notch Were agent for the secret paranormal Council and happily living in Chicago, where I had everything I needed - a gym membership, season tickets to the Cubs, and Dwayne - my gay Vampyre best friend. Going back now would mean facing the reason I'd left, and I'd rather chew my own paw off than deal with Hank. Hank the Tank Wilson was the six-foot-three, obnoxious, egotistical, perfect-assed, best-sex-of-my-life Werewolf who cheated on me and broke my heart.

Michael J. Sullivan garnered critical raves and a massive readership for his Riyria Revelations series. The first book in his highly anticipated Riyria Chronicles series of prequels, The Crown Tower brings together warrior Hadrian Blackwater with thieving assassin Royce Melborn. The two form a less-than-friendly pairing, but the quest before them has a rare prize indeed, and if they can breach the supposedly impregnable walls of the Crown Tower, their names will be legend.

Publisher's Summary
Casey Donovan has issues: hair, height, and uncontrollable trips to the 19th century! And now this - she's accidentally taken Nate Mackenzie, the cutest boy in the school, back in time. Awkward.
It's the eve of the American Civil War, and protocol pressures Casey to tell their hosts that Nate is her brother. No one is more surprised than she is when they are forced to share a one-room workers' cabin. Super awkward. Nate's slow to accept their new reality, but when he does he realizes he needs Casey to get back. His nearness is intoxicating to Casey, but she keeps her cool by hanging a privacy blanket and staying aloof. Knowing Nate has an evil girlfriend waiting for him at home helps.
Over time Casey gains the attention of a handsome, wealthy (and unwanted) suitor, and something changes in Nate. Are those romantic sparks, or is it just protectiveness?
When they return to the present, things go back to the way they were before: Casey parked on the bottom rung of their school's social ladder and Nate perched high on the very top. Except this time her heart is broken. Plus, her best friend is mad, her parents are split up, and her younger brother gets escorted home by the police. The only thing that could make life worse is if, by some strange twist of fate, she took Nate back to the past again.
Which of course, she does....
The Clockwise Collection is light science-fiction (historical) time travel with a nice splash of young adult romance!

Time Travelling Teens
I really enjoyed this story. Even though the main character time travels, that is not the main focus of the story. It is the relationships (K.C / Casey?) she forms with people both in our time and in the past that make the story so interesting. It is also the survival techniques that she develops over time starting at the tender age of 9 - her first jump. I'm glad I chose this book, both on Amazon and Audible. What is great is that if you purchase the book on Amazon, you can get a great discount for that book on Audible.

Fun story, Perfect Narration
What did you love best about Clockwise?
I adored how the narrator embodied everything the author said about the main character, Casey. Casey is supposed to be tall and slightly awkward and the narrator nailed it. She had a tomboy edge to her voice somehow. It worked perfectly. I can't imagine a better voice for this story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Casey was defiantly my favorite. She isn't your typical heroine. She has spunk,is unsure of herself, is tall and awkward, but she is feels real and is fiercely loyal. She is someone I'd want for a friend, even if she did randomly catapult me back in time.
Which character – as performed by Andrea Emmes – was your favorite?
Again, Casey. Her voice was exactly right for uncertain but brave Casey.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I had several moments that moved me. I don't want to say to much... (Spoilers!) so I'll keep it vague but I loved the part when Nate first goes back in time. His reaction was priceless and the ending was a perfect twist.
Any additional comments?
Clockwise is the story of Casey, who seems like an ordinary girl, except that she randomly travels back in time. This makes life, interesting. Interesting almost turns into disastrous when Casey accidentally brings the boy she has a crush on back in time with her. It is a fun story and I'd say it's geared for younger teens but I'm completely grown up and I enjoyed it. The blend of history and time travel paired with Casey's personal growth made it pleasant entertainment.
I received a copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for my review.

Fun YA adventure with colorful cast of characters
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, I'd recommend this to ya scifi and fantasy fans, who don't mind romance and time travel elements.
What other book might you compare Clockwise to and why?
Timeglasses series by Chess Desalls- ya time travel adventure romance
What three words best describe Andrea Emmes’s voice?
Youthful, Vibrant, Reliable
What would have made this romance irresistible?
More believable timeline, less wishy-washyness
Any additional comments?
I loved the idea of this story and it may be one of those rare cases where the written version might outshine the audio. At times the narrator was a bit flat and forgetful of which character's voice to use, but overall she was a great choice.

Love this story!
This one of the best time travel stories I've read/listened to. I loved all the characters, and the way the story developed. It's funny, emotional, endearing. I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next.
Great narration really brought the characters to life and added dimension to them and to the story. I will definitely read/listen to more by both this narrator and author.

Fantastic story and narration.
Okay, spoilers follow.
This is a YA, which will defo entertain any age. It's such a fun and enjoyable listen.
Casey is a very normal kid in the fact she's not gorgeous and she's smart, with nobly knees and fly away hair. I think half the teenagers around will be able to identify with her. She's 15 approaching 16 and her parents are separated.
But her life is far from normal as she time travels, well not totally sure if it's in as physical a sense as she thinks. But time her end doesn't move, and she jumps back to the 1860's.
Her biggest issue is not only doing that, and knowing when she can travel back home, but that with skin to skin contact she can take someone else or other objects with her.
This is a bad thing she's taken her best friend there when they were 10, and now at 15 she takes her high school crush, Nate.
This is an adorable journey for them both because Nate can't believe what's happening and can't believe that Casey (a girl) knows how to kill and cook a wild animal.
There's so much fun in here, yet, there are also some very serious undertones, on slavery and the governments from the 1860's 1960's and of course present day inter-relationships.
What Andrea brings to the table is a wonderful young and excitable voice, she does both Casey and Nate's voices with great skill. Then of course add in Samual, and the other members of the Watson family and she's perfect.
I have to admit, when Samual kept disappearing just like Casey does, I was suspect. And Casey kept saying there was a reason she kept going back to the 1860's... of course there was, she and Nate needed to save Samual from being killed by Robert. uggh what a horrid horrid man. I also know he was going to be the worst kind of human being.
Sarah and the Watsons' got a lucky escape in her not having to marry that awful man either. Maybe Casey was supposed to stop her marrying that awful man to.
I have learned this is a series of books! Squeee..... my inner 16 year old is very happy now, and I can't wait to listen to more of Andrea's narration within this Time Traveling world.
A match that was made for each other, I will keep looking for more in this series. Thank yo both for the very entertaining few days while at work. Just loved it. :)
