Publisher's Summary

Love and lies can corrupt even the purest heart....

In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, while her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will - the wall he has built around himself is crumbling.

As their search for the truth leads the three friends into peril, Tessa's heart is increasingly torn, especially when one of their own betrays them.

What other book might you compare Clockwork Prince to and why?

Cassandra Clares other series, the immortal instruments.

Which character – as performed by Ed Westwick and Heather Lind – was your favorite?

Got to love Tessa

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Friendship, loyalty and tradition tested beyond reason.

Love is messy.

Would you consider the audio edition of Clockwork Prince to be better than the print version?

I still prefer the print version of books, but Clockwork Prince was well narrated and enhances the reading of the print version.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Warlocks, demons, curses, angels and automatons and oh yeah, a love triangle and demon pox.

Any additional comments?

Demon Pox

Female narrator not good.

Where does Clockwork Prince rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Story is good. But you can lose the thread of it when the female narrator is in charge.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The female narrator ruined the book for me. Her voice for the pure narration is fine but her interpretation of "posh" English accents was incredibly distracting and annoying. I only struggled through to the end because it is the second story in a trilogy and I checked that the narrator was different in the final book. Ed Westwick was excellent but sadly there was not enough of him.

Infernal Devices Book 3

I have really enjoyed all of the Cassandra Clare Books, starting with City of Bones several years ago. I have however much preferred the Infernal Devices series to the Mortal Instruments one. Somehow the characters seem more believable and well rounded, whether its because Ms Clares writing has become more mature over time or whether the characters themselves are more mature in this series, being set in the region of a century or so before Mortal Instruments, and there is a lot less of the modern teen angst I'm not sure, but the characters deal well with their love triangle and the story is beautifully told; I shed a tear at several points during the story. I have only 'read' this book in its audio format, and I was extremely impressed with the narrators of the last two books in the series, especially Ed Westwick who really brought out the emotion in the story. I just wish that these two narrators had read the first book in this series, the only one of the three that I have physically sat down to read in paper format, was spoiled for me by poor narration by Jennifer Ehle. I had expected much better of her narration skills after her performance of Elizabeth Bennet! However, this was a fantastic end to the trilogy and I was really sorry to say goodbye to a group of characters that I felt really close to and fond of. I would certainly recommend these books to lovers of paranormal fantasy fiction, and although it is aimed more at older teen readers, as a more mature reader I have found the story very satisfying.

Strange way of using the narrators.

It doesn’t make much sense having a meal and female narrator if they’re not going to be used for male and female POVs why occasionally have the male narrator when in Tessas POV and likewise the female narrator when in Wills POV?
These were my favoured books as a teenager however and I highly recommend them.

Awful narrator

Such a disappointment after the narrators of the first book. If I had realised how bad the narrator was I wouldn't have purchased. Spoils a really good book by making all the characters totally unlikeable.

Switching between narrators didn't work

... especially when Heather Linda's performance wasn't great. The plot felt like it was marking time until the 3rd instalment. Still fun though

clockwork prince another gem

The London institute, Charlotte tiny but so clever and strong, Will beautiful but troubled, Jem dying from a demon induced addiction and Miss Tessa Grey. Wow thankyou Cassandra Clare.

this book was a good one and it pains me to think that i will have to wait to buy the next one. also it makes me sad that there is only one more book left in this interesting series. it has made me enthusiastic about listening to the mortal instruments.

Gripping fantasy mystery in the underground world

A brilliant compelling fantasy mystery the characters are evolving and there is a love triangle, lies and betrayal emerging, narration was very good with both narrator's, it is a shame that the narrator's are changing with each book I think it is better with the same narrator as the characters develop much better

Great book but did’t enjoy female narrator

Another excellent book, I loved it.

However I didn’t enjoy switching between two narrators.

I will say the male narrator was very good, and I wish the whole book had been performed by him. But the female narrator could not do good English accents which was very jarring.

All in all, Great!

Love the Shadowhunter stories! This was my first Audible experience. It alternated from chapter to chapter between a male and female narrator which made me wonder if it would have been better if the characters were split between the narrators like a play rather than chapter to chapter, but that could just a personal preference so all in all was great.

I love the way you write Cassandra Clare

I love the fascinating shadow world you have created especially creating back story to the Nephilim that reside in it. Easy to read especially from the era it was written from and the insight into the family of Shadowhunters what they must indure to keep the humans safe from the shadow world

very enticing

The switching off narrators was peculiar ESP considering the was no thread, link to the story, characters, of book layout etc to anticipate or understand why they chose 2 narrators
