Publisher's Summary

Dani Carrigan has always relied on logic when making important life decisions, but when she discovers she's pregnant - and that there's a chance her baby may be born "not perfect" - logic lets her down.

It would help if the baby's father would pop the question, but widowed father Adrian seems more interested in protecting his six-year-old daughter than committing to his new relationship with Dani. The last time she felt this alone and scared was when she was 16 and her mother died, leaving Dani to raise her younger sisters with precious little help from her distant and disapproving rancher father. She felt so inadequate then, but is she any more prepared to be a mother now?

Support comes from an unlikely source. Dani always saw her next-door neighbour and friend, divorce attorney Elliot Gilmore, as a charming, handsome, playboy-type. But with each challenge she faces, from pregnancy, to delivery and beyond - Elliot reveals himself a better man than she ever guessed.

Is it possible that Elliot hasn't been playing the field - but waiting for her?

Absolutely loved this! Need more.

I didn't realize this was a short book. I wasn't ready for it to end!!! I hope she follows Beverly in the next book. I loved this. I'll be honest, it made me cry more than once. So accurate with the feelings of a new mom, with or without a special needs baby.

Not as good as previous book

Didnt enjoy this book as much as the previous one.
The FMC not as engaging and the connection between h/H not as believable.
Narration also lacking, very monotone. The male voices were grating & a couple of the female voices sounded exactly the same as the males.

Mixed feelings!

Dani’s story left me with mixed feelings. I definitely felt compassion for her fears and concerns when she unexpectedly found herself pregnant and then learns of the possibility of having a child with Down’s Syndrome. I understood her reluctance to share the news with her sisters and felt her confusion and anguish. What I didn’t understand was how an intelligent woman could fool herself into thinking she had a fairy tale relationship with a man who was clearly not as invested in the relationship as she was and proved it to her again and again with his words and actions. I felt sorry for Elliott who supported her through everything while she didn’t realize he had feelings for her and for them to fall instantly in love at the very last minute is disappointing. I listened to the audiobook version and I liked the narration performance of Emily Caldwell.
