Publisher's Summary
What if you couldn't remember the last year of your life? And the people closest to you were lying about what really happened?
Gripping, shocking psychological suspense that fans of Liane Moriarty's The Husband's Secret, Clare Mackintosh's I Let You Go and Linda Green's While My Eyes Were Closed will love.
She can't remember the last year. Her husband wants to keep it that way.
When Jo Harding falls down the stairs at home, she wakes up in hospital with partial amnesia - she's lost a whole year of memories. A lot can happen in a year. Was Jo having an affair? Lying to her family? Starting a new life?
She can't remember what she did - or what happened the night she fell.
But she's beginning to realise she might not be as good a wife and mother as she thought.

A gripping debut novel
I really enjoyed the slowly evolving story as we moved between now and 12months ago.

Ok
Poor editing. Several times there was a sentence being repeated and corrected throughout. Very Distracting!

Very good
I did enjoy. I usually listen to my Audible, in bed just to get me ready for sleep, unfortunately, one night I laid in bed till 3.30 instead.

Unable to get past chapter two
Disgusted by the reader’s cod accent for the doctor. Highly inappropriate and offensive in this day and age. Extremely disappointed as looking forward to the story.

Great story, mediocre recording quality
A good book spoilt by poor sound quality. At times l could barely here it plus shabby chapter editing. A shame because it was well narrated and a gripping plot albeit a bit unfeasible.

What disappointed you about Close to Me?
Struggled to get through the book and took days to finish. Thin storyline with no direction.

Couldn't keep my interest
Persisted to half way but then gave up. Quite boring really. Kept waiting for something to happen but it didn't. Can't recommend at all.

Challenging listen
After listening to many audiobooks, this one has been difficult. I’m determined to finish it as the story isn’t awful and I’ve paid for it but the main character isn’t particularly likeable. That aside, my main issue with this book is the sound quality. It’s often mumbled and inaudible, which is annoying enough, but the sudden, loud shouting is jolting and incredibly difficult to tolerate. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
