Story
Dr. Anna McIntyre's life was going along just fine until someone else started living it. Her patient died because of an identity mix-up, her medical career is in jeopardy because of forged prescriptions, and her credit is in ruins. Story
When her phone rang, Diane Macklin wondered what her sister wanted now. Then she heard that their mother was in the emergency room with a heart problem. The doctor tending to her mother was Dr. Joe Adams, who was far from Diane’s idea of the family doctor. He had been alone since his first wife had died, and was apparently heaven-sent as a mate for Diane, if she could only get past the trauma of her previous near-miss at the altar. The heart problem was hard to solve initially, but the subsequent difficulty turned out to be murder, and affected the lives of both Diane and Joe.

Story
When Dr. Caden Taggart saw the two men sitting in his waiting room, he didn’t think they were patients. He was right, and when they introduced themselves as agents of the Drug Enforcement Agency, things started to get bad. Then Caden felt as though someone had gut-punched him when his father, Dr. Henry Taggart, told him he probably had carcinoma of the pancreas. When he talked about his son assisting with his suicide, Caden wondered how he could talk him out of that.

The colored lights on the snow gave it a holiday appearance, but the dead woman's body in the yard added a grisly touch. How did Ina Bell Patrick die? Who killed her? And why? The dead woman had no direct heirs, so two nephews and a niece stood to inherit. Dr. Laura Morris was left to make all the arrangements, attorney Roger Morris could certainly use the money, and Zack Morris had disappeared two years earlier.

Story
The box contained a cell phone, which rang as soon as she opened the package. A voice that called Dr. Kathy Hoover by name said that her husband had been kidnapped. To get him back, she would have to poison one of her patients. At first, she didn’t believe that her husband had been taken from the conference he was attending, but soon she discovered that the kidnappers really had Darren. If she wanted to see him again, she had to give medication that would murder Kelton Rush, former Vice-President. What was she to do? How would she handle this critical decision?

Publisher's Summary
For Dr. Cathy Sewell, Code Blue means more than just the cardiac emergencies she faces - it's the state of her life when the return to her hometown doesn't bring the peace she so desperately needs. The town doctors resent the fact that she's not only a newcomer but also a woman, and the devastating results from one of her prescriptions may mean the end of her practice. As two men compete for her affection, an enemy wants her out of town - or possibly even dead.
Cathy returns to her hometown seeking healing after a broken relationship, but discovers that among her friends and acquaintances is someone who wants her out of town...or dead. Lawyer Will Kennedy, her high school sweetheart, offers help, but does it carry a price tag? Is hospital chief of staff, Dr. Marcus Bell, really on her side in her fight to get hospital privileges? Is Will's father, Pastor Matthew Kennedy, interested in advising her or just trying to get her back to the church she left years ago?
When one of Cathy's prescriptions almost kills the town banker, it sets the stage for a malpractice suit that could end her time in town, if not her career. It's soon clear that this return home was a prescription for trouble.

excellent book
I really enjoyed this book. the narrator was fine...but the best part was who was trying to kill the dr. and destroy her practice after she returned to her hometown. there was also a love story...the return to her christian faith as well as finally finding out the truth about her parents, how the killer had destroyed her mothers health by making own pills. don't want to give the whole story away. if you are looking for a good mystery story...without illicit sex, I think you will enjoy this book.

Very Juvenile Attempt
This book is very poorly written. It comes across like a junior high creative writing assignment .
The plot is stupid, the female character is hardly believable. The plot breaks in weird places
and leaves things unresolved. The author tried to create fear and suspense but only succeeded
in leaving you puzzled as to any logical follow up to the threats to Doctor Sewer.
The narration was barely adequate to keep me interested.
No Thanks to another by this author.

Homecoming can be a struggle--lethal even!
Cathy Sewell returns to her hometown to practice medicine and is run off the road by a black SUV. And so begins Richard Mabry's first in a series, Code Blue. From the first page to the last, there are twists and turns that keep the pages turning. Wrong prescriptions, and emergency surgeries...will these keep this young doctor from being awarded medical privileges at the local hospital. Who is out to get her? Can she trust anyone? How will she pay her loan to the bank if patients believe the rumors? Can Cathy reconcile her past disappointments with a God she blames? With forgiveness and faith, confusion and calamity, family and old flames, Code Blue is a thriller you won't want to miss. Having listened to the audiobook, I will note that Kate Udall does a great job of narration. Having captured the essence of the various characters she gives them a voice of their own.
