It can range from very subtle to quite extreme, when a person makes terrible sacrifices just to earn their partner’s approval. Codependency can be hard to recognize. Story
Codependency is a set of emotions and attitudes that can lead you to manifest concern for the problems of another person with whom you are emotionally connected in an excessive, even inappropriate way, even leaving aside your own needs. All this is unhealthy. Codependency is one of the biggest symptoms of having low self-esteem. You normally feel the need to please and be liked by others, you have a hard time expressing your feelings, and you feel afraid of being rejected or abandoned, among many other negative behaviors.

Still struggling from the effects of an abusive relationship? Many people do and sadly there is very little information available to be found online or in the written research, or with counsellors and therapists that can help. The Gaslight Effect is not officially recognized, nor is it widely even known. Even when it is accepted, recognized and known not many people seem to know what to do about it to heal it.

I am well-guided by it.
As the book imparts, there’s a certain amount of life-learning that comes from fixing one’s own mistakes. If you come in and fix everything for someone, that person loses a chance to learn coping mechanisms and develop self-confidence. How valuable are these pieces of information!

Isn’t this informative?
Some situations cannot be rectified with either support or saving. Being the perfect partner or family member will not fix someone’s abusive behavior. Nor will it cure their addiction. Most people need mental health treatment before they can quit abusing others. People with drug or alcohol addiction may also need rehab.

Lots of meaningful advice.
In a relationship, if one partner is giving too much, then the relationship is not a healthy one. A healthy relationship is a give-take one, initiating both partners to grow and the relationship becomes an ideal one. Don’t you think so?
