Publisher's Summary

Free yourself from limiting behaviors and connect with the truth of love....

Are you sick and tired of opening up your heart only for everything to come crashing down again, exactly as it always has in the past?

Do you feel like most of your relationships drain your energy and leave you feeling depleted and exhausted?

Is your partner always full of energy and life, and although this fills you with joy, you can’t help but still feel some kind of emptiness inside?

Sadly, the behavior patterns we’ve learned and brought into our relationships aren’t always healthy, but we often have no way of knowing this.

Your parents may have been in a toxic relationship, or perhaps you’ve sought advice from your friends or other family members and are bringing that energy with you into your pursuits.

Either way, if any of the above sounds familiar, chances are quite high that you’ve fallen into an emotionally codependent relationship, and this is why everything keeps leading you astray.

As a naturally caring and empathetic person, it can be hard to understand where your boundaries need to be set in order to maintain your own wellbeing. Doing so doesn’t mean you have to cut other people out of your life, but it does mean that a more heightened focus may be necessary.

You can free yourself of all this worrisome burden and ensure that your next relationship is one of mutual support and admiration.

In fact, with the right tools, techniques, and emotional awareness, you can ensure that you never end up in one of these situations again.

In Codependency (The Need to Feel Needed), you’ll discover:

  • The top six signs of codependency, and how to know if they’re happening to you
  • Well-rounded insight into understanding the “victim mentality” and how you can free yourself from its grip
  • How you can flip the script and begin to take positive action toward your self-love
  • Why forgiveness will set you free, and how you can learn to do this with anyone, no matter what has happened in the past
  • A play-by-play guide to building self-awareness and establishing healthy boundaries
  • How to know your personality style and why this will help you understand your partner better
  • How mindfulness can help you become less judgmental, as well as how to use this to enhance all of your interactions with others
  • And so much more

Every relationship you enter doesn’t have to be like the rest. Just because the past has always been the same, this doesn’t mean you can’t change the future.

Freedom from your codependent tendencies is possible, and no, it’s not going to require years of effort and a ridiculous amount of money spent on therapists or personal growth courses.

With the right awareness and a bit of focus, your next relationship could very well become the best relationship of your life.

Informative !!!!

I like this kind of educative book, you get a lot of information and knowledge from a simple read or listen like this one ... I was not aware of this term. How it affects our lives and relationships, I've heard many self-awareness and boundaries, but I never understood the right way to set them up !! Also, the book provides an insightful understanding of victim mentality and how to discover your type of personality to help you understand your partner better and have a healthy relationship. I highly recommend this book.

This really helped me!

I struggled with codependency for YEARS without even knowing I had a problem. A while back when I realized in therapy what codependency was, I was shocked by how dysfunctional I was in my relationships. This book was a real eye-opener and really helped me. It is very well explained and was easy to listen to as well!

Practical and Healing!

Ever since I was young, I suffered from separation anxiety, whether from my parents or immediate caregivers. As an adult, this tendency transferred to romantic partners and friendships, and I always recognized it as something that was unhealthy for me. I would receive comments, and recently, with my downtime during COVID figured I would do what I can to pull myself out of this issue.

I found Codependency (The Need to Feel Needed) in the audible store, and thought I would see if it could help me. I couldn't be happier that I did! This book helps you resolve feelings of codependency by helping you address the source of the problem, and helping you heal those difficult points of pain.

The narrator is engaging and reassuring, and the content progresses systematically and understandably. If you are suffering from issues of codependency, would definitely suggest giving this one a listen.

Great listen on breaking the cycle of codependency

This one starts by defining what codependency is — the need to feel needed by others — then moves to explain various ways by which we can overcome such a force. It’s also tactful in its explanation that some semblance of feeling needed by others is an important part of every relationship. However, when that need tips out of balance, it can often take full control over our lives.

After listening to this audiobook, I think you’ll be equipped with some great tools for overcoming this often cyclical, destructive force and will be able to take back your life from it. It also covers some of the forces the lie underneath codependency — the fear of abandonment and the fear of not being loved. It’s helpful to see how all of those forces connect with one another. I think you’ll find it all helpful as well if you pick this one up.

Interesting listen...

This book is an interesting listen about the psychology of relationship in relation to codependency behavior. I have heard of the term codependency; however, this is the first time I learned what it meant. J.C. Ragners did a good job of explaining what the term means and what are the signs of codependent relationship. Though, I have never experience a codependent relationship, I do find great value from the book about setting boundaries for oneself laid out in chapter 7. I think it would helpful if the author provides some simple sentences or phrases people can you to help them set boundaries between them and the people around them. The chapter about distinguishing between attachment and love was quite thought provoking as it shed lights on the relationships of a few couples that I know. This book does provide some good insights; however, I think people who are in trouble relationship could also benefit from seeking couple therapy or counseling.

Well written book How to try to Leave Copedency

I never knew I will find this kind of book which explains and helps people in this subject, usually, people go to therapy to solve the problem but with this book, I think you don't need to spend on therapist money. This Copedency happened a lot of time with my ex-girlfriends and I feel like now as well. Especially if the couple is young. They just depend on each other and after a while one of them can not make decisions by themselve. They have to wait for the other to decide which way to go. This books going to explain to you properly what is Copedency, and how to exit the cycle of it. Really proper guide for your life how to stand up for yourself and build a strong personality like that you going to have confidence in every situation of life or relationship and you can stand up for yourself.

A much needed book. Loved it

I just wanted to start this off by saying i really really enjoyed but more so needed this book. This was such a helpful guide, which was clear and concise, very straight forward and extremely informative about codependency the definition, expressing, and illustrating which in which it can manifest. The author did amazing ways he shares his thoughts on the topic, which was extremely helpful. One of my favorites chapters was the chapter on self-care, I love how detailed it was, it felt very relatable and I felt like the author really cared for my well-being which is always a bonus when your reading books of this nature.

I also love the fact that the book is so well researched, going over 6 of the top signs that you might be suffering from codependency. I also appreciated the chapter about getting to know your partner better, this was something I have been meaning to get better at. This book provided me with enough value that i know feel empowered, and confident that i can navigate my way over these hurdles.

Great Key take-a-ways

This book definitely unveiled a disease I had without even knowing. It does a great job at reinforcing what mindfulness can do for you. It also teaches an in-depth approach to selfcare and how/why to set personal boundaries and be just fine with it.
I strongly recommend this book. Good job J.C.
