RECOMMEND.

While this book is well written and covers its material well, it limits itself to only a couple of the applications of COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY theory. It's easy to follow and very helpful in understanding yourself and those around you. Highly recommend. Thanks for author

Too dense, too fast, too much for therapists.

Even playing the book at half speed, I had trouble keeping up wiith the dense rapid fire ideas. Also the content is written for therapists rather than for someone seeking to learn to use the ideas to help themselves.

Recommend.

Afterlife had thrown endless curveball our way I was naturally starting to feel negative about pretty much everything. I thought I'd give this a whirl after and it helps you set small goals and allows you to almost view yourself in the third person. It helped give me a kick up the backside and think positively again and I only listen about a third of the audiobook that I felt was relevant to me. Highly recommended.

An extremely informative, helpful audiobook

This audiobook stands out for its easily readable explanation of what CBT is and the practical advice it gives. It covers a wide range of psychological problems too--depression, anger, lack of self-confidence, and others. Even if you seek professional help which is also covered--you can benefit from listening to this to understand how the technique works and how much it can help you.

Very Helpful

Very Informative audiobook gives clear explanations on the techniques and tools using CBT. Elaborated on each topic and gave wonderful, easy to understand examples. Hits the nail on the head with all the subjects and topics chosen, a perfect table of contents is offered. Once CBT is learned, this audiobook can be used as a guide to review and make use of the techniques. I know I will listen to this book over and over.

Maybe it’s for you

This was a very informative and audiobook that I hope others will consider adding to their library. The mind can play tricks on all of us, but how we deal and resolve those issues really comes down to us. How do we approach negativity and how do we change what we believe is already wired in us? The good news is that the wiring can be adjusted and fixed. It just comes down to you. loved this book.

Great introduction to CBT for Everyone

Very good audiobook, and easy to use if you take the time to do so, I listen to this through, to begin with, to get a feel for the way I would need to apply the methods, you need to be committed as it takes some time to fill out the daily diary but when you get the hang of it it is a great way to get to know yourself and take care of yourself, definitely have reaped the benefits and would highly recommend.

Excellent CBT presentation

It is an excellent layman treatise on the subject. Finally, I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself. Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me. Seriously. But you need to want to be positive. Life is hard and I can see how some of us may not want to get over a passive negative. Highly recommended audiobook.

Just What I Needed

As a professional counselor, I enjoy listening to audiobooks that reinforce what I use in my practice. I felt this audiobook is also a good tool to use with clients as it presents cognitive behavioral therapy is laymen's terms. Just What I Needed.

Wonderful book

Wonderful book but a terrible narrator. The narrator reads way too fast. Even my speech-to-text program can’t decipher what she’s saying.

Could have been so much better

The content is great, informative and very thought provoking, if only the woman narrating the book didn't speak at a such a fast pace... its like she's speed reading and was like a single continous sentence! very hard to follow and take things in...I had to keep rewinding it, somewhat disappointed 😞

monotonous narrator

It is a good book but unfortunately the narrator was too monotonous and spoke too quickly. Good brief guide to CBT.

Can't fault Kate Dana's info.

Good clinical info but the narration was very challenging. Fast paced, monotone, lacked pauses. just, for me, a real challenge to stay engaged.

Only for professionals, very technical

It is focused on professionals, not for regular readers as the content is extremely technical. Couldn't listen it at all.
