Publisher's Summary

This was supposed to be her happily ever after....

It's a familiar tale: A kind and beautiful young girl, reeling from loss. A doting father, frantic to bring a mother's love back into his daughter's life. And the selfish, cruel woman who insinuates herself into that family - a woman so unfeeling, so cold hearted, that when her new husband dies, she makes the girl a servant in her own home. But who is that evil stepmother, that icy lady of the house? How did she become so closed off that, in the face of a child's grief, she thought only to seek wealth and power for herself and her abhorrent daughters?

Before that fateful ball, before the glass slipper and the prince, there was another story - a story of love and grief, of hope and of dreams dashed. It is the story of Lady Tremaine. Even the coldest of villains are sometimes wives and mothers, women who loved and lost and hoped for something grander for their lives...once upon a dream. The latest novel in Serena Valentino's deliciously devious Villains series introduces the most famed and hated wicked stepmother of them all - but turns everything you know about her on its head.

Another good book

I'd say over all it's bitter sweet cuz the end kind felt unjust to me. After hearing how she was made to be this way basically used, lied to and abandoned, and driven to insanity. Kinda seems unfair for how it all ended.

Lazy Story

First the performance, they gave Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, a horrible Scottish accent. It was like nails on a chalkboard whenever she spoke. All the other characters got accents as well, but not as bad as the fairy godmother. You would think the voice actor would have watched the movie and tried to mimic the original voices

Some will enjoy this and some will not

I will be honest that this is my least favorite. I do not want to give any spoilers, but I was hoping for a bit more of a happy ending. Maybe I relate to Lady Tremaine?!

it was great and I felt everything was coming together great and then the end was a bit upsetting for me but maybe it's because I felt it was super unfair

spoilers! I was so bummed by the end of this book.

I have enjoyed ever story in this series except this one. What in the heck is the moral of this fairytale? You can be a victim of abuse, gaslighting, be lied to by every single person who is claiming they want to help you. driven mad by years of neglect isolation and servitude and then in the end.... you get a villains come-up-ins????? She got no help and was thwarted every time she tried to help herself by the fairy or witches who were claiming they were trying to help her. no one ever told her the full truth about anything going on in her life, thus making her unable to make any rational decisions. This was a story about a mentally abused and gaslight mother whom was first told she would become a villain, then turned into a villain by the inept people claiming they could help her, then when she becomes the villain they helped her to become they punish her for it in the end.... wtf . This women was a victim from start to finish of the book.

amazing story

I never thought I could feel bad for Lady Tremaine. But I felt for her so much.
This also made me realize, I would definitely be a villain. If I went through any of what this poor woman went through, I would be one Hades of a villain
Must Read.
Serena Valentino did it again.
