Story
At 58 years old, Jeff Mann had read dozens of those apocalyptic sci-fi novels, and all were wrong. The cause was the incompetence of the world's governments and the failure of the many financial Ponzi schemes. First, the riots and looting came, and then starvation and depravity followed. The billionaires built safe compounds while everyone else died off or fought to survive the holocaust at the end of the modern world. Jeff begins a crusade against human trafficking after saving two women from slavers. Can one man and two women make a difference in a world gone mad?

This new stand-alone survival thriller thrusts the most dynamic city on Earth, New York, into darkness as North America is bludgeoned by the sun's ferocity. Scientists promised a beautiful aurora providing the city that never sleeps with magnificent hues of blue and green. For three days, New Yorkers took to the streets, parks, and rooftops to enjoy the awe-inspiring spectacle. As the power grid failed, the city of New York collapsed with remarkable speed. The thin veneer of civilization was laid bare as man fought one another for survival.

Publisher's Summary
Cole’s Saga - a post-apocalyptic novel by AJ Newman
Cole’s Saga is a stand-alone spin-off series, based on my American Apocalypse series. Cole’s Saga continues the story about Cole Biggs, and how he and his friends survive the apocalypse. North Korea, China, and Iran conspired against the world and used EMP bombs to destroy our grid. This new series starts in the Kentucky / Tennessee part of the US. The grid is down, and people panic as planes fall from the sky and cars stall. The US Government collapses and rogue government groups rise to power. Jack Harp is Cole’s best friend’s father. Jack has had to survive on his own back in Kentucky while Cole and Joe Harp tamed Southern Oregon and killed or got rid of the gangs and thugs. Jack and Cole team up to fight the rogue FEMA troops so they can try to escape and join their friends back in Oregon. Cole, Molly, and her two cousins were kidnapped by FEMA and imprisoned in a FEMA Camp where they work as slaves to help rebuild the eastern part of the old US. They were captured in California and taken to a FEMA camp in Kentucky. Cole had promised to take the women to Ashland, Oregon, and the safety of Cole’s community and he will succeed or die trying.
Listen to Cole’s Saga to find out how this young man survives and builds a team strong enough to defy the rogue FEMA and survive the lack of food and resources encountered during the apocalypse.

the character development and writing style really add to the original story. Cole has taken the lessons that he learned to help another crew and being a young man he's still mature enough to teach others and take setbacks. Looking forward to part 2

just bad
this book was hot garbage. it felt like someone was reading a transcript of a teenage lover quarrel from Facebook. "I know we are in the apocalypse but I'm going to lead this boy on so he will help me, wait I don't really like him at all but I'm jealous if anyone looks at him". " I wish this girl would stop messing with me". Hug me, don't touch me, hug me, get away from me. mix in a few bitchy letters from an old lady and this is the book. Also I really hate when authors make something a book one when really it's a book two or three.

Cole Biggs VS Joe Harp's Daddy Jack
Sara Morsey is a great partner for Kevin Pierce. Their narration together is fantastic!!
This time the letters are for the son, Jack Harp from his mother. Lol, that old lady was a "pistol and a hoot" as the old folks say. Jack is stubborn, hardheaded and loyal. He's married to Joe's cheating mother. His secretary Carole wants him and after interviewing and background checking Carol, his mom agrees. Carol's folks are Preppers who teach the new couple what to do.
Meantime, Cole Biggs, the whole reason I continued this series, has been kidnapped and taken with Molly, who decides to use him as a shield/husband, and her twin cousins Gemma and Genny to a FEMA mining and farming camp. There he meets Deacon Brown, an ex football player and Joe's 2nd ex Madison.
When the two teams meet, age meets youth in a battle of wits and control. Will they all head back to Oregon? How will they get there if they do. I already bought the next book so I can find out!

Very Disappointed
Was looking for a better story bases on Cole and I am sure it would have been but Joe's father ruined it. In addition you could tell the author throw this book together without really planning it out. The story is rushed the characters except for Cole are very flat and in some ways never had a person to build from.
The narrators tried to save the story but it was a lost cause and even loving Grandma or mom to Jack couldn't save it.
