Story
It was a hot summer day when I met him on the construction site next to my parents' house. Under the sweat and dirt, Manning Sutter was as handsome as the sun was bright. He was older, darker, experienced. I wore a smiley-face t-shirt and had never even been kissed. I was too young, he said. I would wait. But I'd learn that no matter what you achieve in life, it means nothing if you suffer the heartbreak that comes with falling for someone you can never have. Because even though I saw Manning first, that didn't matter. My older sister saw him next.

Story
Cristiano de la Rosa is a man as big and bold as his legend. Once upon a time, he was our cartel’s best soldier...until he became my family’s worst enemy. And a man like Cristiano will bend fate to his will to get what he wants — even if it means tearing me from another's arms. Because in the de la Rosa family, old grudges run deeper than loyalty, and betrayal is a three-letter word: war. But this feud isn’t between enemies — it’s between brothers. And I’m the prize.

The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

Fifteen years ago, I fell for Jack O’Donnell. I was just a girl, but I knew my brother’s best friend was the only man I’d ever love. On my 18th birthday, when I asked him to kiss me, I never imagined it would change my life so completely. I gave Jack everything that night. In order to move on, we had to go our separate ways and pretend like nothing happened...as though it wasn’t the greatest moment of my life. But even that wasn’t as heartbreaking as the secret we were forced to keep.

They say that all men are created equal. Well, that’s a blatant lie! I know, because I met God's gift to women in Vegas; I pretended he was my husband to get rid of another man. He took our fake marriage seriously, and it became his personal goal to consummate. He spoke to me in French, and I lied to him in German. His laughter was addictive. But I thought what happens in Vegas would stay in Vegas. Until it didn't.

Long and brining
I really enjoyed this series until the final installment. The story dragged out longer than it needed. The characters seemed much more immature from the previous two books. I found myself resenting Olivia and her constant back-and-forth. The only redeeming quality of this book was Andi Arndt and her superb narration.

Too long
Olivia has to be the most whiny character I’ve ever read in a book. I was expecting a better finish to this story. We could have had less turmoil for the main characters. I just can’t get over how whiny Olivia was.

Olivia is SOOOO WHINY
I feel like a few other reviewers. Olivia is so whiny. She keeps doubting herself and second guessing everyone's motives. Just make a decision and stick with it. Every time she started to whine I wanted to skip ahead. At times difficult to listen to. Other than the whine, I loved the story. It was relatable. It could happen to anyone. And of course, the narration was great!

READ BEFORE COMMITTING TO THIS SERIES!
The things I hate most about Romance novels:
Whiny female leads
Mispronunciations of foreign languages
Ridiculous conflict
Conflicts that occur/resolve in the last hour of the story
Selfish partners
Poorly researched destinations
BS endings
THIS BOOK HAD THEM ALL!
I’ll try not to spoil anything while explaining the ridiculousness of this series.
From book one, it is evident that Mr. and Mrs. just aren’t right together no matter how good each of them are, they just don’t work and that’s OK.
From book one, you will discover the major conflict that will continue throughout the series, however, for 3 books, we have to listen to Olivia’s ridiculous whining about how she can’t commit to David because her mother left her/her father and how David might leave her too (meanwhile, she did the very thing to Bill that she claims she can’t give her trust to David for).
You all know from reading the summary and reviews that she had an affair. I do like a story with real-life drama, instead of the usual “it’s you, it’s me” bs that we get from most Romances.
It was evident from the start that Bill and Olivia did not belong together and that David was much better for her. At no time did I feel sorry for Bill, or vilify Olivia and David-until the end...I wanted to punch Olivia in the teeth and I wanted to shake some sense into David.
So, while Olivia is whining about how she can’t trust David (or anyone) for 3 books, he vows 100% honesty to her and that’s exactly what he is. For 3 books, poor David is having to prove and defend himself to her, over and over. This stupidity causes them to take multiple breaks from each other so that Olivia can figure herself out.
Meanwhile, that ONE issue that was a huge wedge between Bill and Olivia, is rearing it’s ugly head between David and Olivia. I was just waiting for stuff to get real and have David leave her for once, for being dishonest and not bringing this up the whole time they were together. She knew this would be a problem, but she was so selfish that she only cared to protect her own heart and never his.
The author gave Olivia the lamest excuses to not commit, but the ONE valid reason for a major conflict between this couple never came up until...
Just as I’m finally getting excited for this all to blow up, I realized there was only 20 left before the epilogue. In 20 minutes, David realizes that of all the asinine reasons she’s been giving him to not commit, she failed to mention that ONE detail that represents the major, potentially life altering reason that maybe they are not best suited for each other. The author only gave David 20 minutes to decide if he should stay with this lying, cheating and selfish b****. And in the last 20 minutes, with no conflict or argument, he just accepts it. I even had hopes that during the epilogue, she would’ve changed her mind and done something for him for once, but alas, I was sorely disappointed.
I would’ve even had a better appreciation for this book, and more respect for this author, had this book not had a HEA. Who says a Romance has to have a HEA??? If this book would’ve been real-life, I seriously doubt a HEA would’ve been in the cards, or at least, there would’ve been a huge argument and break up before coming to a decision. I wish that story line would’ve been better developed and worked through, than Olivia’s Wah, Wah, Wah for 18 hours. And maybe the author could’ve helped couples struggling with the same challenge.
Another thing, nobody comes to Miami to go surfing. Our beaches are as flat as the landscape except for about 15 minutes at the tail-end of hurricane season.
Authors, do your research! You should’ve sent them to California or Hawaii on vacation if you wanted them to surf.
Last but not least, note to Andi...you had one word in Spanish to learn and you failed. Why can’t the narrators just do a tiny bit of research to pronounce foreign language words properly??? An accent is forgivable but not blatant mispronunciations.

Terrible Heroine
Preface - Andi Arnt is an excellent narrator and I would not have finished this series if not for her narration. I don't write reviews often, but had to vent about Olivia. What a spoil self centered weak woman. Whine, whine, whine, cry, cry, cry and says she loves David but does not show it. She only feels she loves him when she's having sex or thinking about not having sex with him again. So many times I just tuned her out. David saves this book. Had to listen in hopes of a great ending but....ending is lame. Book leaves me feeling sad for David.

Boriing
I liked the first two books, but this was just so boring and annoying. The main character just kept debating the same issues over and over and over. I was excited when I saw that it was a ten hour book because I was anticipating some good action, but there was none. The main female is whiny and annoying and doesnt make any sense in her thoughts and dialog. She cant seem to make a decision on what to eat for breakfast. I cant imagine why any man is drawn to her. But it just drags on FOREVER.....

He's More Patient Than I Am!
Finally! I admitted to being a hypocrite about the first book, because I'm not really into stories about cheating. Then I had to admit that the second book just barely kept me hanging on, but the middle book in a trilogy is notorious for being the toughest to write (and read) because it is by nature very content-heavy. But at long last, book three truly satisfied me. Yippee! As a reader, I got everything I wanted out of the series, and was very satisfied.
I will only admit to having a vague and slightly transient feeling of wanting to tape Olivia's mouth shut a few times when she would start her ritualistic "what if" scenarios. Goodness, that girl needed some therapy. She seriously has a relational self-destruct thing going on; as soon as things start going smoothly she stirs up the waters because she doesn't really know how to be happy! All I could think was that while David wasn't perfect, he was amazingly patient to tolerate the same ol' thing happening again and again. But, hey, when you love someone...

Great ending
Even though I thought initially I wasn't going to like this series because of its taboo content (infidelity) I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the story and I liked the characters and I loved the narration. My only negative was the back and forth that the female lead went through - her making a quicker decision would have pleased me more.

Really good three part series
Great story but I got so frustrated with Olivia and it was duck a disappointing ending.
