Story
It's totally normal to fall in love with an audiobook narrator's voice, right? Right. Just ask Vera, who listens to "her" guy whenever and wherever she can: while driving, working, parenting, cooking, cleaning, showering...you name it. But now, she's bringing him into the bedroom. And her husband is less than pleased.

So as you can see, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I had no choice when my buddies said, “I bet you can’t get that brunette beauty to kiss you before the night ends.” I proved them wrong, and oh, how good it felt to be right when I swept the quick-tongued woman into my arms and kissed the breath out of her at the party. But, I made a slight miscalculation. Turns out she’s my brand-new enemy. And soon, I’m locked in a fierce battle of wits with my sexy-as-sin nemesis.

My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

I'm so excited that all of these funny & witty audio plays are now available in one audiobook. I have said it in every review but I don't think anyone is as surprised as I am at how much I enjoy these plays. I never thought I liked Plays until Erin changed my mind! I think each play is so different that they all require their own review.
Skin Hungry
This play is funny, emotional and touched on some very hard situations. I think that is what I love about Erin's plays, they all have serious situations and hard topics but she writes them with so much humor. I have no sense of humor but Erin always makes me laugh. The narration of this play was perfect. Delphie & Zachary and then Sarah & PJ all really played so well off of each other. You can feel the connections but also hear the fun they had recording this play.
Come Find Me
This is my favorite of the 4 plays, This is a play based on a psychiatrist named Henry Cotton who was known for his unorthodox ways of curing his patients. I thought Erin Mallon's play was more humorous than creepy and I laughed a ton while listening. The play was witty and Erin's talent as a playwright really shines through. The best things about audio plays for me is that not only do we get to experience the writing but the performances are always so incredible. The performers in this play were all exceptional and I have to give a little extra shout out to Therese Plummer, she was perfect as Margot and really did an amazing job the mood swings and the comedy.
Branched
My face hurt when I finished this one from smiling and the only word that came to mind is weird, but in a really good way! Then after speaking to a friend she explained it better by saying this was Brilliant yet peculiar in true Erin fashion. Go into this with expectations of laughing at the absurd characters and creative writing. Also the bloopers at the end are hilarious! The narration of this audio play is PERFECT! All 4 of the narrators were awesome but I have to say Joe Arden stole the show as a 5 year old Ben and Erin was Brilliant as his mother.
The Net Will Appear
Bernard and Rory are the type of characters you can't help but fall in love with. The kinda grumpy old man and the very talkative and unfiltered pre-teen girl. They are such an unlikely pair that really do help each other so much more than they even realize. As always with Erin's Audio Play's the storyline is so funny with the satire feel but with a deep and important meaning. I love the play but I also loved the actors so much, I feel like this play was written with them in mind because the casting was just that perfect!
If you haven't checked out an Erin Mallon Audio Play yet...You really should!

Four Thought Provoking Stories!!
Erin has a way of bringing out ALL of your feelings with her writing. There is hilarity, of course, but with that also comes thought provoking subject matters.
Skin Hungry is a romantic comedy with an unusual age gap. It also brings up real life issues, like loneliness after a spouse or parent dies, as well as problems with intimacy.
Come Find Me is a ghost story that will freak your freak!
Branched is a family dramedy with marital issues, an adorable little boy, a non-typical daughter and the cringy, quirky Mom at the center of it all.
The Net Will Appear is a sweet story about a friendship between a little girl and an old man that will tug at your heartstrings.
The narration and sound effects are amazing in these stories! Erin’s talent as a writer and narrator are showcased throughout.
You don’t want to miss all this twisted goodness in one set! Zachary Webber as Rowan and Joe Arden as Ben are worth the credit alone! And be sure to stay tuned for the hilarious bloopers on Branched!

Deeply Touching
I love Erin Mallon's writing. I know that everytime I listen to her plays, I'm going to find humor, fantastic performances, and a deep truth about human connections.
These plays all had a theme of parent/child relationships. There was always some disconnect with a parent and some parent figure filling in the gap of that disconnect. I found myself laughing, sure, but more often than not, I teared up during these deeply touching stories.
Erin has a gift of taking a story to the edge of appropriate and creating a believable space where we can connect with her characters. These plays will stay with you after you listen to them and they will make you think. I HIGHLY recommend them, just don't expect some light and fluffy hilarity. Expect to feel all of the emotions.

What a quirky, fascinating collection of plays
I'm a fan of Erin Mallon's audio plays, and this collection is out of this world incredible. Not only is this a fantastic group of talented voice actors, but each of these plays is so unique, the subjects so varied, and honestly the material is so quirky that it prompts so much introspection as you listen.
The four plays, Skin Hungry, Come Find Me, Branched, and The Net Will Appear, could not be more diverse in content. But they are all weaved together by their ability to really challenge convention and take the listeners on the most unexpected of journeys.
I love how Erin writes such unconventional material, and then finds narrators that really breath life into her characters.

4 amazing plays!!
Four amazing audio plays written by the super talented Erin Mallon, all for one credit! This is 5ish hours that you’re not going to want to miss. With an all-star narrator cast, it’s an amazing way to spend an Audible credit.
Skin Hungry:
Skin Hungry is funny, witty and full of emotion. I laughed out loud many times during the story. But it has heart too. Although it was only about an hour and 15 minutes, it’s well rounded.
Come Find Me:
I loved the setting of the story. It’s really outside of the norm box and Erin Mallon did such an amazing job at crafting the story and the lines. The ending has me like: Whattttttt???? 🤯 This is one you’re not going to want to miss.
Branched:
Seriously, how does Erin think of these plays? This one had me cracking up the whole time. And it also made me think. What’s real? What’s fake? It’s a witty play based in NYC that kept me listening to the very last second. It’s one that leaves you thinking at the end about just how weird the world can be. But also how accepting and funny it can be. This play is the whole package.
Erin always picks the perfect narrator for each character. I honestly had no idea Joe Arden was the voice of the young son until the end with the bloopers.
The Net Will Appear:
This audioplay was such a fun listen. I loved the unexpected friendship between 9 year old Rory and 75 year old Bernard. Rory is a witty, chatty and very smart child who throws off Bernard with her quick wit and her intelligence. Bernard has been homebound too long due to a sick wife and the friendship he develops with the vibrant kid across the street is what they both need. Rory and Bernard’s banter is classic and had me laughing so hard. Per the norm, Erin leaves you laughing but also thinking about the play overall. All the laughs and feels are in this audioplay.

this is the perfect way to try out some audio plays by one of the most interesting writers I've ever read. This collection by Erin Mallon ranges from hilarious, to creepy, to touching and sweet. She has created stories that will entertain you and keep you guessing, even after they are over.
Each short is cast to perfection. The narrators all bring their A games . The writing is so fresh and original. I've never read anything else like these shorts.

Her typical humor–with lots of sarcasm and quirky personalities–is ever present. The conversations are fast paced and captivating. But you also get some heavy feelings of grief and loss and regret, that’ll probably bring a few tears.
The age gap romance made me think of Harold and Maud. It’s the connection of two lost souls and it’s beautiful. I loved that you get a glimpse of every character’s background but not too many details. You’re left guessing what brought them here, at that moment in their life where they connect with each other.
As for the narration, it’s perfection. The casting choices are spot on and all the narrators give their best to convey the deep emotions of their character. It’s definitely a play you want to listen to, instead of just reading the words.
COME FIND ME
How many times can I be surprised by the same author? It’s like she’s always where I didn’t expect her.
This time, it’s with an eerie haunting story, with a little more drama and a little less humor. Not that there isn’t any–the characters offer sarcasm like candies. I say story, but I should say ‘stories’. Two sets of characters, two time periods, two difficult relationships between a parent and their child. Sprinkled with mental illness and abuse, and with an underlying feminist discourse.
To precipitate the mixture, 5 extraordinary talents give their voice to the characters. The result is an immersive audioplay that you should definitely listen to in the dark. If you dare.
BRANCHED
That was so unexpected, and yet so incredible! In the end, everything sort of makes sense, though you’ll have to think about it a lot to get to a conclusion. Don’t worry, you WILL be thinking about it a lot.
As usual with the author, the play is a delicious mix of humor, drama, original situations and unforgettable characters. Here she tackles weird family dynamics, cheating, and child abuse. And yet you’ll laugh, and feel for the characters–even the deranged mother, because in the end, she only wants the best for her family, in her very weird way.
The narrators play their role perfectly, and the addition of noises gives another dimension. Close your eyes, and let the words sweep you away.
THE NET WILL APPEAR
One more unforgettable play by this author. This unexpected friendship between an old man and a little girl will bring you to tears between two bouts of laughter.
The life dramas they talk about are of the tragic kind, but their interactions are full of humor and energy–thanks to Rory who’s sharp but too new to life to understand what’s happening around her, while poor Bernard, who’s been kind of removed from life for too long, learns again how to let someone in. It was fascinating to see their relationship change and move forward in just 4 incredible encounters.
Characters, situations and dialogues were up to par for the author. Witty, unique and with lots of genuine emotions. The bubbly energy of the young child and the gruff demeanor of the old man were interpreted amazingly by two talented actors. Their performance was so good that you could practically see them, just by listening to them.
IN CONCLUSION
Combining the author’s unique blend of drama and humor, a superior writing, and amazing full casts, those 4 plays deserved to appear as a box set to appreciate the full extent of the author’s talent.

Skin Hungry: I saw this performed live and fell in love with it. Four people. completely different, but somehow find solace and companionship together. An unexpected senior female approached by a twenty something man who will have you in stitches! And the second couple just looking for that human touch. Mallon easily takes their loneliness and creates a happiness for both with love and humor. And the cast is incredible.
Come Find Me: Creepy, eerie, with a touch of humor, this audio play is the perfect listen for Halloween! Erin Mallon takes us through Tillie's crazy childhood living with her eccentric father. He is a doctor in an insane asylum, though it seems like he should be a patient. Mallon masterfully switches to time periods, keeping us wondering what is real, what is in your mind and just how impressionable we all are.
Branched: Laugh out loud funny. That is what this audio play is! Erin Mallon has introduced me to a whole new genre with her witty audio plays, and this one had me in stitches! It's a family of 4 and a kindergarten teacher with over the top personalities bringing out all their eccentricities. Mallon has captured the essence of each person and and given them traits we all can relate to, just not quite that excessive!
The Narwahl Strikes Back: You know when you need a good laugh that you can count on Erin Mallon. Could it be funnier than the first book? I think it just might be. This audio play brings us back to our good friends in the studio and lets us live in a day in the life of a group of authors and narrators. This quirky bunch plays out all the things we think they would be as listeners! The banter, the eccentricities, the writer's block, their own relationships, each making me laugh and just lighting up my day. The sound effects and stage direction treat us to a play in our minds and it's nothing short of pure magic.
Mallon chooses her narrators that fit the parts so well, you would swear they are real. These seasoned performers work so well together, bouncing the comedy back and forth and bring the story alive. I loved every one, and the bloopers are hysterical. Give me these casts anytime! Add in violin by Zachary Webber and it's a one click purchase for sure!
