Story
The first time I read a text in public, despite it being a few people, I felt a part of me that would have preferred to sink. Arghh! What a shame, now that I think about it. At first, I was looking for something to help me, and then, instead, I kept putting it off. In any business, knowing how to communicate in public is a crazy advantage. In the meantime, however, if you stop, the "catastrophe" continues.

Story
At work, we’re taught to lead the conversation. On social media, we shape our personal narratives. At parties, we talk over one another. So do our politicians. We’re not listening. And no one is listening to us. Despite living in a world where technology allows constant digital communication and opportunities to connect, it seems no one is really listening or even knows how. And it’s making us lonelier, more isolated, and less tolerant than ever before. A listener by trade, New York Times contributor Kate Murphy wanted to know how we got here.

What you'll find here is practical magic: unique knowledge, drawn from a variety of sciences, revealing what charisma really is and how it works. You'll get both the insights and the techniques you need to apply this knowledge. The world will become your lab, and every person you meet, a chance to experiment.
