Hard to relate to author

I struggled to finish because I don't feel the author represents a typical autistic child. The author is extremely intelligent with a photo graphic memory and excels at math. I had a hard time relating because my autistic kid not only struggles socially but he is also challenged academically. I have to think that this is more typical for an autistic child.

I want more books like this!

This book changed my life. I have a son who was diagnosed with Autism in Middle School. I cannot articulate how afraid I was for my son’s future. My fear was created mostly by my lack of understanding how to communicate with him. Now I understand and I have renewed hope in my ability to help him reach his potential. I can’t wait for the next book. Maybe a book focused on getting through a love relationship?
