I Love Lucy Goes West
I have long enjoyed the wonderful imagination of Barbara Goss as she increases the population of the West with brides and grooms. In this case, the Matchmaker's carefully chosen selections become cat fodder and the granddaughter's attempts to put the files back in order create chaos of their own. He lives in the middle of cattle country and she doesn't eat beef; he's a city doctor and she wants to live in the country; he's a Christian and she's a non-believer. Almost any subject which has two choices sees the two of them on the opposite side of the question. How on Earth did the Matchmaker put them together? But this tale does not consist primarily of domestic quarrels. We have an evil stepfather and a gang of bank robbers dropped into the mix to make things exciting. All the cross-purposes seemed like a first class "I Love Lucy" episode as I laughed my way through the entire story, listening to J. Scott Bennett enacting the various characters in the audio version.

Another great book!
Barbra Goss Is one of my favorite Office and when you add Jay Scott Bennett then you have a perfect audio listen.. That is exactly what you get with Connors contrary bride. Leave it to Barbara Goss to have such an original plot and the genre that is fraught with rents, lather and repeat stories. I find her stories are very unique and well written They grab you at the beginning and let you go long after reading it, because the story will stay in your mind at least it does mine. I highly recommend this book if you love historical romances with a mail order bride twist this book it’s a great book to get. I cannot say enough about how great this story and all of her stories are. I’m excited About this one and feel it is my favorite, because it is new. When the next one comes out I will feel that way about that one LOL! A great book, a great buy not to mention it has a great narrator.

4 1/2 stars
Very nicely written book, has a little of everything doctoring, orphans, outlaws, semi gun fights, couple that is absolutely opposites in every way. Looking to put Lord in times of trials, helping to show a sinner who the Lord is and what He can do for her life. I really appreciate and loved how the author incorporated having Faith and knowing the Lord.
Because this book does have references to rape and “consemating the marriage “. I really can’t recommend this to advanced preteen friends. Older teens would be fine but preteen I think it’s a bit much.
I listened to this book the gentlemen did a good job reading it to us.

Total Opposites
I really enjoyed the story of Elsie and Connor. Mix Up is absolutely the correct name for this series. He is a doctor and wants his wife to assist in his clinic, she faints at the sight of blood. He is a church going Christian, she doesn’t believe, she wants children, he does not. Their story calls for much faith and compromise. I totally enjoyed J Scott Bennett’s narration, he’s the best! Ms Goss has started this series off with a bang!

A Mixed Match
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed in exchange for an honest review.
Sadly, Dr. Conner Van Gates searches for a wife after his dies in childbirth. A seasoned matchmaker is called in and falls ill causing her important paperwork to become switched. The unlikely pairing is the premise to this story. Set in the mid-west Elise Crenshaw travels to his small town and brings plenty of baggage. Her hopes and dreams are opposite to his and forms the foundation of this story. The narration was good.

Opposites
Elsie and Conner responded to the same Matchmaking advertising. But instead of getting matched with compatible partners, a mix-up happens and Elsie and Conner get matched up even though they are opposite in almost every way. It is appreciating those differences and learning through hardships that even though they are different they can still love each other that make this story. Narration by Mr. Bennett is excellent and easy to listen to.

Barbara Goss delivers again
What a fun book to listen to! Conner and Elsie are puzzled at how different they are having gone through a matchmaker, filling out the form with all of their wishes for a match. So entertaining to watch all they go through as they strive to make their marriage work. The journey is sometimes sad, but mostly amusing.
J. Scott Bennett is not my favorite narrator, but the stories he narrates by Barbara Goss make up for any deficit in the narration.
