Story
Inspired by his nine-book Conversations with God series, many people have asked Neale Donald Walsch to find a way to deliver the most essential pieces of God’s message to us in a more succinct way. The result is a concise audiobook detailing and expanding just what we need to know about life and how to live it. Bringing their many conversations over the years into sharper focus than ever before, Walsch in What God Said encourages listeners to cast aside religious and cultural trappings. To experience life as fallible - and human - beings, open minded, open-hearted, and all-embracing, and to build on, broaden, and enrich our ancient story.

This book is an outgrowth of the School of New Spirituality program. In it, Walsch has joined with Laurie Farley and Emily Filmore, the directors of the school, to put into one place all of the spiritual concepts of a home schooling curriculum. This book makes available for parents not only the tools for teaching CwG’s concepts, but a narrative summary of the concepts themselves, because this special articulation for parents would form the backbone of their home schooling efforts, and help them to use the other tools created by the school with maximum effectiveness.

What is needed now is for humanity to agree on the most important topic in human history. We could produce spectacular results if we did so, changing life on Earth for the better - forever. And this is not out of our reach. We could bring an end to anger, violence, disagreements between people and nations, financial hardships, poverty, starvation, and the suffering of millions. We could bring peace, prosperity, security, opportunity, and joy to people around the world. In short, all that humanity has ever hoped for or dreamt of and what we were truly meant to experience could be ours.

Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Publisher's Summary
We're in trouble. But there is help ... if we listen.
In the middle of the night on August 2, 2016, Neale Donald Walsch found himself drawn into a new and totally unexpected dialogue with God in which he suddenly faced two questions: Is the human race being offered help by Highly Evolved Beings from Another Dimension? Is there a key role that humans are being invited to play in advancing their own evolution by joining in a mutual mission to assist the planet during the critical times ahead?
He was told that the answer to both questions is yes.
Then he was given 16 specific examples of how Highly Evolved Beings respond to life differently than humans do - and how adopting even a few of those behaviors could change the course of world history for the better forever.
That information makes up the body of this work.
A striking invitation to every listener sets the stage for the extraordinary explorations that follow. Picking up where Book 3 in the Conversations with God Trilogy series left off, the revelations about Highly Evolved Beings and about how ordinary humans can answer the call to help awaken the species on Earth will breathtakingly expand your view of both your personal and your collective future.
Which is exactly what the dialogue was intended to do.

Not the Same as the Other 3 books
This book was NOT the same as the first 3 books. This conversation with this God seemed more preachy, with judgement and ego focused on how to "save the world" verses focused as typically on YOU the individual and how it is important to focus on yourself as a means of collective uplifting. It falls in contradiction as to what Law of Attraction states which I thought Neale Donald Walsh was a avid believer of. This is more a conversation with Neal Donald Walsh and his concerns for the future of the Earth (environmental, political, world peace, etc.) and how we as humans are too primative to help those in need. We are just a bunch of hedonistic knuckle draggers who are to selfish to help anyone less fortunate or save our planet who need alien intervention to help save us. This book read like it was about things that were important to Neal Donald Walsh, not a conversation with God.

The most important book you'll ever read
If you could sum up Awaken the Species in three words, what would they be?
The most important conversation to hear and then implement in your life.
What other book might you compare Awaken the Species to and why?
It's a perfect summation of the trilogy series that came before it. Ties everything together brilliantly.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
THIS IS EVERYTHING.
Any additional comments?
Life-changing. Brilliant. Such an honor to be able to have access to this wisdom.

Mindblowing experience (if you keep an open mind)
I just finished listening the audiobook and all I can say is my life will be forever changed. The concepts in this book are so out there but in the same time they make you question everything about life and think about the endless opportunities it has to offer after you awaken. I have to say it was really hard for me to get a grasp of some of the concepts, even though I am deeply spiritual, I practice yoga, meditation and so on. So definitely this is not a book for everyone. If you have no spiritual or self awareness knowledge or interest you will most likely dismiss it as bs fantasy. However if you bypass that, try listening with an open mind and let the information really sink in, in the end you will awaken something in you. Its impossible not to. I know I did. Life has a different meaning for me now and from now on I will go down this path of studying even further these concepts. Blessings to all of you!

Understanding yourself
Although this message may be a tad too much for many of us at first, and there are clearly parts when I was just not sure if I heard it well... ultimately it inspires to live a life more full, elevated, supports you to draw, every day, a little bit closer to a better version of yourself. It promotes expansion, and the general idea that we can and absolutely should strive daily to become more generous, centred, and understanding human beings - just to mention a few of the most important ideas in the book.
I absolutely loved it by the end, and recommended it to everyone on a spiritual journey and has an open mind for new ways of looking at the world, God and all of humanity.

interesting listen, as usual
I am not a particularly religious person (to put it mildly) but I have found NDW's Conversations books to be very inspiring over the years as well as profound and even transformational.
I have found them to be books that I can revisit and remind myself of the wisdom and insights provided in them. this book is no different. there is quite a bit to digest here, and quite a lot that is familiar ground and a refresher or expansion on the message of the previous books.
overall, I very much enjoyed listening to this one and if you enjoyed the other books in the series, you should find this one illuminating as well.

wow what an ending!
Conversations With God books are not really a book, I believe, to be read so much based on reviews of others . It is definately up to the individual if its for them or not, and should be read with an open mind . That being said it was certainly for me, I loved every minute of it!
Coupled with the soothing godlike voice of the Author Neale Donald Walsch, this is an amazingly beautiful, gentle book to complete the trilogy perfectly.
Whilst is could be read and possibly understood without reading the previous 3 books, I would definately reccomend they are read first for better understanding.

Life Changing
Loved the narration. While listening with avid interest I saw two big trucks with 'wakey wakey' in giant writing drive by! I'm a fan, thanks Neale x

Best book! Must listen again..and again!
This book was the best I've had in a very long time. The narrators were perfect and spoke
so clearly. I wish the sound quality and narrators were this good in the other CWG series.
