Story
When I see the delicate human female collared and enslaved by the smuggler I'm about to swindle, I do what any male would do. I take her from him. It's what I do best, after all. Now Fran's mine, and I'm never giving her up. On board my spaceship, she'll be safe. She'll wear my clothes, eat my food, and sleep in my bed. I'll keep her safe from a galaxy that wishes her harm. But my sweet Fran wants nothing more than to return to Earth. How can I take her home when she holds my heart in her dainty, five-fingered hands?

Story
Life on a farm planet at the edge of the universe can be dangerous for a human woman alone. That's why I need a husband. Any husband. Unfortunately, all the men I approach keep running off. So I hire a bounty hunter to kidnap me someone capable and strong, someone who will scare off the creeps who are trying to move in on my territory. It'll be a marriage of convenience only. I should have been a little more specific about who I wanted, though....

Crulden the Ruiner is the name of a fierce gladiator who's broken the rules...and broken anyone who approaches. It's my name. It's a name that strikes fear into the hearts of all...all except the small human female who comes to clean my cell and glares at me the entire time. My new owners want things from me. They want me to play in their games. They want me to win battles for them. Well, I know what I want in return. I want her. And I don't care who I have to destroy to get her.

Story
My name is Alice, and I live in the Bugpocalypse. I survived my first post-apocalyptic winter, and spring is here. That’s bad news! With warm weather comes the endless swarms of deadly bugs. I need to forage for food, but there’s just one little problem. Okay, so “little” isn’t the best word to describe the fierce Xarc’n warrior who is obsessed with me. Kaj’k is freakin’ huge! And his sharp claws, pointy fangs, and massive horns are scary. I reject his gift of food and flowers, but my massively muscled alien hunter doesn’t get the hint.

I’ve broken free and I’ve also freed the human who was held captive with me. But I don’t know where we are, and I don’t know where my home is. The local wildlife may be smaller than I am, and maybe they don't have fangs near as large as mine, but I’m still terrified. My issues with germs—and my uncompromising avoidance of all the things that I’m afraid of coming into contact with—is going to get me killed in this wilderness. Thankfully, Aurora lets me follow her. Thankfully, she seems to know the way out of this endless and inhospitable woodland and desert biome.

She is mine. So, we’ll come together and make an exchange with their men that will benefit us all. After that? To the winner goes the spoil. Let the hunt begin...but the red-headed female is mine.

Publisher's Summary
It's not easy being a space pirate....
Actually, wait. Yes it is. It's keffing awesome.
The three va Sithai brothers - that's us - cruise the universe looking for abandoned ships, treasure, and other pirate ships to rob. Right now, we're on the hunt for the Buoyant Star, an abandoned cruiser rumored to have a massive treasure inside. The ship's been found at the edge of an ice field at the far reaches of space.
That treasure? About to be all ours. But the ship's not all that abandoned. The Star is crewed by a few lonely, attractive human females who are thoroughly grateful at being rescued....
Actually, wait. They're not grateful at all. They've set us a trap, and their leader, a beautiful human female named Jade, gives me a smile just before she captures me.
It's official. I'm in love.

Best book from Ruby Dixon!!
I’ve read a majority of Ruby’s books so far and this one by far is my favorite! The steamy scenes are HOT and that’s saying a lot since Ruby definitely knows how to write a dang good steamy scene! The story line is different and exciting and the narrators did an AMAZING job as always. I will be re-reading this book over and over!

I have had a lot of fun reading the books containing references to these space pirates. It's fun to have them featured in their own books. Aaaand, I gotta say, I LOVE Bethiah as a crazy side character in a number of Ruby Dixon's books. Any chance that she'll have her own story soon?

Losing its shine.
I was pleased that Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd were back. The other narrators were good but when you get used to some narrators for stories, that's what you expect. Sorry authors and audiobook makers, it's tough to change. Anyway, unfortunately, it seems like Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd were a bit over Ruby Dixon's stories or I am over listening to them? I can't decide. The narration was flawless but without a soul. I can't help but wonder if that was because the story wasn't that great or if they quit doing Ruby Dixon titles because they were exhausted. I don't know, but this didn't really work for me. Or perhaps it's me. I'm over the same ol' same ol' because I know what's going to happen but Ms. Dixon mixing it up a bit just gets on my nerves because, beyond the pole dancer and the exiles in some other book, there's nothing really exciting happening. The stakes never seem high because no one ever dies in her books. It's like sexy Disney for adults and while a lot of people may never tire of it, I really think I am.
So to the story, this is from her Corsairs series which I always thought was the best. This follows the silly /wounded/ really clever but can't be bothered brother Aldarain and an overweight heroine. The only thing that would have made the book more cringeworthy is if she had been a virgin as well. As Ms. Dixon has never been one for facts making sense, you must overlook all of the hard science fiction, and I don't know it just wasn't for me. Everything seemed off with this book. I have nothing against overweight people but I had a really hard time believing that a woman who'd been without anything but a rationed amount of noodles for years on end and water could still be very overweight. But with what's going on in the US right now people can just make up their own realities regardless of biological truths, so if you still want to believe that character would be fat and not a malnourished individual. Fine. I think this might be my last Ruby Dixon. At least some of the 'science' in 'science fiction' must make sense and calorie intake isn't rocket science, but even that was wrong here. I'm just not into this anymore.
