There’s something missing from Eli Garrett’s life. He loves being the sheriff of Painted Pony Creek, Montana, so it’s not his job. He’s had the same two best friends since he was a kid, and he’s grateful for them, so it’s not that, either. But ever since his buddy Cord’s recent marriage, Eli has a nagging suspicion that he wants what Cord has. And there’s a beautiful woman who has caught his eye - someone who’s returned to town that he can’t get off his mind. Brynne Bailey is spirited and compassionate, and being with her makes Eli feel alive again.

There was trouble in Haven, Arizona, and Ranger Sam O'Ballivan was determined to sort it all out. He arrived posing as the new schoolteacher, and his first order of business was to bring the rough ranchers' children under control. To that end, he called on Maddie Chancelor, the local postmistress, whose younger brother was in firm need of discipline. Sam wasn't sure what to expect - but it was definitely not this graceful woman whose prim, proper stance was so at odds with the fire in her eyes.

Awkward!
This is definitely not like LLM other books. I've read a lot. The story line was blah and the ending dragged on. The longer it went the more awkward it got, to the point I couldn't even finish. Definitely will not be getting the second book in this series.

Mama Mia again
Ms. Miller is an outstanding writer no doubt. This is a very adult story and I fear I am way old-fashioned for the story. How does a person with any moral values sleep with three young men and not see anything wrong . Along comes the fruit of these unions . A young woman who also does not have a problem with her mother's behavior. Who is blissfully happy to pick any one of these men to be her dad. The whole premise is distasteful to me .The writing was great all the characters basically great .Loved all the animals. I would normally given five stars .But my own sense of morality got in the way .Hated Mama Mia also.I guess I am not adult enough.

So disappointed
I don't know happened here. Who really wrote this? But it is not up to LLM standards. Characters are not fully formed. Shalley is a weird shell, and frankly comes across stalker-ish. There is no relationship development between...well...anyone. Good story, but not well told.

Worst Linda Lael Miller book
This was the most predictable, boring book of Linda Lael Miller’s that I have ever read. All sunshine and roses and predictability through the whole book. I typically just love her books and can’t wait to read them. This changes my impression of her and also the narrator.

Just okay
I usually really like Linda's books but this was hard to finish. Overly sentimental and just plain tacky at times. The middle and end of the book dragged on, I thought it would never end. My least favorite book of hers and I have read most of them.

Fairytale Not Real Life
This has to be one of Linda Lael Miller’s worst books. It read more Ike a fairytale than real life. I would not recommend this book to anyone.
