Publisher's Summary

Harry Windover adores blonde, green-eyed Athena Lancaster, but alas, a penniless man like himself has no hope of winning a young noblewoman’s hand. To add insult to injury, Athena’s brother-in-law and guardian, the Duke of Kielder, has asked Harry to assist Athena in finding the gentleman of her dreams.

But the lovesick Harry is cunning as well: as the weeks pass, he introduces Athena to suitors who are horrifically boring, alarmingly attached to their mothers, downright rude, astoundingly self-absorbed, and utterly ridiculous. Athena can’t comprehend why she is having so little success meeting eligible and acceptable gentlemen. Indeed, her circle of admirers couldn’t be less admirable - nothing like the loyal, gentle friend she’s found in Harry.

But how long can Harry’s scheme be hidden before it is discovered? And what will Athena do when she uncovers Harry’s deception? Escape into a charming regency world in this delightfully romantic comedy of manners that will entertain you to the very last word.

I have been waiting for this book on Audible!!

This is my favorite of Sarah Eden's books, so I have been waiting for it to come out on Audible. I enjoy the narration, too. This is a wonderful, sweet, romantic story. Harry is one of my favorite male characters - he's funny, protective, loving. What a great story!

Loved

This is such a great book! After reading Seeking Persephone I really wanted to read more about Harry. I love the friendship that Harry and Athena have and watching how Athena realizes that she loves Harry. A definite must read!

Story is good, voice over not so much

Couldn’t connect with story due to bad voice over. The story I couldn’t keep up hence cannot comment.

Love Sarah M Eden

Could not stand narration... Older woman talking for younger men and women was odd at first, but didn't bother me after awhile. What was really irksome was how she portrayed the character- actually making them sound stupid and airheaded. Very disappointed to see a lot of Sarah's other great books are narrated by the same woman... will not invest further.

Narration 👎🏼

The only reason I didn’t return this right away was because it was all I had to listen to on my drive. The narration can ruin a book. I’m not understanding why these aren’t narrated by an English man/woman. And I could barely recognize these characters from Book #1 with the change of narrators.

I loved the characters!

It was fun seeing Adam and Persephone together and in love. The things Adam says are so funny I am laughing out loud and my kids look at me like I'm strange. This was Harry and Athena's story and it was sweet to see them find their love for each other. Harry is too humble and Athena is rather clueless. Thank goodness for Persephone and her discerning eye. I loved the journey and the ending! SIGH!

Sweet Family-Friendly Historical Romance

This story is well-written and read by a decent narrator. It's family friendly, if that is the kind of title you are looking for. The characters are believable and enjoyable in their quirks. Recommended for anyone wanting a light-hearted historical romance.

Such a lovely story

I was so looking forward to hearing Harry's story which was enjoyable, but it did drone on a bit too long for my liking.

The ending was lovely though and I am so pleased the narrator was changed for the better.

Sweet with limited angst

A nice simple story. My only complaint- would have preferred an English narrator. The current narrator is by no means terrible, but the accent doesn’t quite fit the time period.
