Story
My name is Megan and it’s been three months since I’ve found a dead body. At first, the most recent death in our cozy little town had nothing to do with me. The police said the poor man had a heart attack and lost control of his car. Spoiler alert: It wasn’t a heart attack. It was murder. Why did it have to happen in front of my yarn store? And why do I keep discovering dead bodies like it’s a hobby? I’d ask a therapist, but it turns out it was the local therapist who wrapped his car around the lamp post in front of my store.

Great story!
I read the book and loved it, and listening to it in audiobook form was a different way to experience the story. Really good narration - the narrator embodies the character of Megan really well. The only voices that I found a bit odd were the male voices, particularly that of Megan's partner Eric.

Running for Mayor is Murder!
Crime Skein is Book 6 in A Knitorious Mystery by Reagan Davis. I find that this series is fantastic. I love the characters, Megan, Eric, Adam and all of the supporting cast, they have become book friends! Adam is running for Mayor of Harmony Lake; but, when his opponent is killed in a hit and run with Adam's car, Megan gets involved in the case. I felt that Crime Skein had so much action and Reagan Davis did an outstanding job of leading the reader to more clues to solve the case.. Eric and Megan are growing in their relationship. I can't wait to listen to Sins and Needles, book 7 in the series. A Knitorious Mystery is a fabulous series.

Entertaining cozy mystery
Both the author Reagan Davis and narrator Zim Avaltrades are relatively new to me. This cozy mystery was entertaining and I enjoyed the story. It was good to be back in Harmony Lake with another murder for Megan and her cohorts to solve. This time Megan will be pulled in different directions and her personal life is about to get complicated; torn between her sheriff boyfriend and her ex husband who is now a suspect.
This book was full of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. There were lots of clues to follow and some surprises in Crime Skein as Megan, her boyfriend and other friends follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken aback on a couple of occasions.
I continued to find the narrators male voices hard to relate to (they seem forced to me) but since her main character is a female I could still listen and enjoy the story. I really liked the characters, they are engaging and easy to relate to and the fact that they are of a mature age is an added bonus for me.

Another hit!
I really enjoyed this mystery filled with twists and turns. It’s a great cozy mystery with intrigue, humor, and romance. Even though this is book 6, there’s enough backstory that this works as a standalone, but I’d recommend starting with book 1 and listening in order. The narrator has a couple of odd voices for some characters, but overall she does a good job, and it’s fun to listen while knitting.

Crafts and Crimes!
Crime Skein is #6 in the Knitorious Murder Mystery Series by Reagan Davis. This book and series have everything I love in a cozy mystery! The book has interesting, likable and relatable characters who keep evolving, a great plot, wonderful writing and yarn (with beautiful descriptions)! This book includes the death of a blackmailing political candidate who had enough enemies that Eric and Megan are kept very busy! The narration by Zim Avaltrades is great! She brings the characters and story to life!

A nicely knitted plot
I enjoyed this book. Once again the author has crafted a clever plot that is driven by a small town feel and great characters. This is book six in the series and I am still loving it, it can be listened to as a standalone book but that means you miss out on the rest of the fun and previous mysteries and to be Frank why would you? The characters are down to earth and care about each other (even ex's) which makes them likeable and people you want to spend time listening about, there is also a lot of recurring characters that we know well. The mystery was good and contains plenty of suspects, red herrings and humour to tie it all together. I also like the small town feel to the story and the way everybody (okay nearly everybody) comes together to protect it. The budding romance is sweet and the author sets the story up for the next book, she doesn't leave it on a cliff hanger because the mystery does get solved and it more what's going to happen next, which I for one will be finding out.
Finding a new Mayor for a small town shouldn't be too hard but after the last one was accused of corruption the last thing they need is another scandal. Which is why Megan's ex husband is talked into running for the position because he will take what's right for the town to heart. Unlike his opponent who only has money in front of his eyes and what the town can do for him. Then a show storm hits and things get complicated. Megan's ex loses his car keys and begs to stay at her house, he boyfriend the sheriff gets called into work after an anonymous phone call is made and a friend storms out of a card game when a bad prank is played on him. Then a body is found and celebrations for Megan's ex winning the election is put on hold while he is investigated for murder but he isn't the only one. With a number of her friends and family in the crosshairs for the murder Megan is once again putting on her sleuthing hat. Can she find out why somebody finally killed the most hated man in town and why he would run for the mayor position in the first place?
I liked the narrator. She gives each character there own voice making the story both easy to follow and enjoy.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
