Publisher's Summary

Crimson Arrows: A Bowhunting Odyssey is narrated from the heart and soul of a bowhunter. Spanning three decades of his adventures, Eyad Yehyawi takes you through the emotions, heartbreaks, and successes from his earliest years in Iowa, to physically and psychologically challenging backcountry hunts in Alaska and Canada, to a breathtaking African safari. Every setback and missed opportunity is revealed, along with the rewards earned through hard work and perseverance. Through these 32 stories, Eyad defines his passion for the outdoors, including the disappointments and mishaps, sleepless nights, and tears, and a few instances where death comes calling.

With intense descriptions of his surroundings, animal behavior, and imposing weather conditions, Eyad engages all of your senses as you share his adventures. Whether you long for giant whitetails and spring gobblers, are passionate to pursue mountain goats and moose in Alaska, dream of wading across the tundra for caribou, hope to stalk musk oxen in the Arctic, or aspire to trail a horse-killing cougar in the mountains of Alberta, you’ll find stories here to inspire you.

Too Over the Top

Every story in the book is told as if it was a life or death experience. The dramatization was too annoying to keep listening to. There were some good stories, but calm down a little.
Kids would probably enjoy it, as it is full of "edge of your seat excitement" but for anyone who has done any hunting at all, it just annoying.

A deep, personal, and tasteful telling of the hunt

For hunters and nonhunters, the stories of the hunt will draw you in to experience the chase. The author offers that time afield is a sensory feast and the pursuit is described in a fashion that is neither revolting nor bloodlust. The harvesting of an animal is anti-climatic yet the primary purpose, one of accomplishment that carries necessity, pride, and respect of all things natural and primal.

I downloaded the audible version of this book and it did not disappoint. The stories were vivid realistic and informative. It is reassuring to hear the experiences of a bow hunter in success and failure

Awesome read!

From one bowhunter to another, this is an amazing book! Easy to listen to, each story keeps you in suspense. Well written, this book accurately describes a true hunters passion. Appreciate the fair chase, and the effort to end the animals suffering as best he could.

Page turner

Enjoyed by and inspired an entry level bow hunter. Only real gripe being that so much of the location and species were American and not Australian
