Publisher's Summary

They're not going down without a fight.

When FDLE Special Agent Amy Larson discovers a small horse figurine amid the bloody aftermath of a gang massacre in the Everglades, she recognizes it immediately. The toy is the calling card of the apocalypse cult that Amy and her partner, FBI Special Agent Hunter Forrest, have been investigating, and it can only mean one thing: This wasn’t an isolated skirmish - it was the beginning of a war.

As tensions between rival gangs rise, so does the body count, and Amy and Hunter’s investigation leads them to a violent, far-right extremist group who are in no hurry to quell the civil unrest. With a deadly puppet master working to silence their every lead, it’s a race against the clock to figure out who’s been pulling the strings and put a stop to the escalating cartel turf war before the Everglades run red.

Hard to hear making diff to follow

I love the author, but the person reading was really difficult to follow. The beginning of sentences were normal but the end off all sentences got more and more quiet to where it was difficult to stay engaged because I could hear the end of the sentences.

Weak

It’s rare that I just stop listening to a book. This was just painful and unimaginative.

I won’t be returning to this series or author.

Couldn’t finish

I attempted to listen to the book and was enjoying the storyline but the orator nearly put me to sleep

The narrator ruined it for me

I could not get through even 15 minutes of this book. The narrator emphasizes the wrong words and it just feels all wrong. What a shame

Crimson Summer

I enjoyed this second book to the series. I wasn’t surprised by those that ended up involved, I suspected them shortly into their character introductions. The narrator does a fairly good job though there were a couple times that she mixed up character voices.
