I’m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I’m Fae. But of course, there’s a catch - all I have to do to claim my birthright is prove that I’m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that’s true, as I’m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn’t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I'm a Slayer. Finding out I wasn't human was only the beginning of my problems. My best friend, Taylor, is still missing, and so is the Immortal Amulet, and it's my job alone to get them both back. I don't know who I can trust, and I'm still not sure I'm cut out for any of this, but I'm determined to figure it all out, or die trying. As if that wasn't bad enough, there's a new enemy in town and they've come bearing gifts - an ancient prophecy that is going to blur the very lines between good and evil. And, apparently, my blood is tied to the center of it.

There are only two ways a human can cross the gates of Bloodstone Institute: as a familiar to one of the Blueblood vampires who attend the elite school or as a snack. I'm neither, but I have to get in at all costs. My brother made a big mistake, and now I have to fix it by stealing from the most powerful and cruel vampire to ever come to Bloodstone, Lucca Della Morte. If that wasn't almost suicidal, I need to get it done before the spell concealing my human nature wears off.

Terrible book
This book’s main character spend way too much time gushing over the vampire. I just wanted her to get to the story. I mean we get it he is sexy AF. She says this so many times it’s nauseating.

ugh
This book is like walking through molasses; in an ice age. Its tedious to listen to. The book could be 2/3 shorter without the frivolous filler. For example (not actually in the book, surprisingly)
person a: "he said okay in my head" "0kay? I said"
person b:"what did he say?"
Person a: "He said okay"
Person b: "okay?"
Person a: "yes, okay"
Person b: "wow, okay"
Etc infinity-
I really enjoyed the first book, it was super parallel to Twilight (often too much so, get that copywrite money stephenie). And then this one, copy paste Harry Potter- paranormal soccer/quidditch, anyone? Several times I had to stop reading because it was simply, "too stupid" and yes, I said that aloud alone in my room.
So why 2 stars? The lead character quit saying, "AF" and starting actually cussing, though even that was over kill. And because I'm going to finish it. I'm sincerely hoping that the 3rd installment is WAY less cringeworthy, but I would not put it passed Ms. Wolf (also, really?) to name Jaxon (400 year olds are not named Jaxon or Hudson btw) and Grace's baby EsmeRenee.
The narrator's voice requires a great deal of patience. Several times she forgets to use different character voices. It also seems as though she has a slight speech impediment, be prepared for a minor lisp.
skip this one and reread the Twilight and Harry Potter series again.

Way better than the first hbook!
I enjoyed Crush a million times more than Crave. It was less “teenage romance” and much more action filled and entertaining, but I must say that Grace’s inner monologues often get to be a little too much and have me thinking “OKAY GET TO THE POINT!” While it is a bit annoying, that does build a lot of suspense as we’re waiting to find out what happens in the more exciting scenes, so I’m not too bothered by it.
I really dislike the narrators chosen for these books. She sounds like she’s a 50 year old woman and it just doesn’t quite fit. I don’t find she has the right voice for this type of book. The man who narrates at the very end is far worse, I could barely tell which character was talking as he read the characters.

Big ol’ MEH
I really wanted to like this story and I’ll go ahead and move on to the third book just to finish it out. Unfortunately, it’s just not very good. Several of the main characters fundamentally change in the second book and veer from their original personality traits with no real explanation. Plot holes abound and “twists” are incredibly predictable. Worst of all is the writing. If you make a drinking game out of every time the author has Grace say “not gonna lie” then you are sure to die from alcohol poisoning in the first few chapters.

Spoiler-This is a pass
This book was well written and interesting. however, I don't like series in which an entire book is spent getting you emotionally invested in the love story of two characters, only to destroy that in the next book. I couldn't buy-in. I don't like Hudson and found the banter between him and Grace to be really annoying. I felt sorry for Jaxson and know he was trying to protect Grace after having had suffered for four months worrying that she was dead. Grace didn't seem to appreciate his perspective and preferred the brother who never had to suffer the same fate. I feel like a big reason why she connected with Hudson was simply because he was with her 24/7. The relationship was easy since he could read her thoughts. As a result, she didn't have to make as much effort with him. Not to mention, because he kept her busy all the time she didn't make the effort to invest in Jaxson, particularly considering that Hudson was around for every interaction she had with Jaxson. I guess logically, one would expect things to turn out exactly as they did. Jaxson didn't have a chance.
I appreciated Grace wanting to do things on her own. I also felt like she was a little selfish in that she didn't really ever try to appreciate things from Jaxson's perspective. I won't be reading any more books In this series because I don't like love triangles and I hate to see the good guy lose.

Love/Hate relationship- also missing chapters again??
Ugh I really have a love-hate relationship with this book!! I absolutely adored the 1st book and the relationship between Jaxon & Grace but it feels like this book took a huge departure from the 1st one- mainly in the characters & their storylines/relationships. The actual plot was entertaining but I feel like I fell in love with characters in the first book only to have them morph into different people in this 2nd book. I don’t wanna give anything away but just know that things changed a lot.
The actual story was great- mostly the 2nd half. Similarly to the first book, the first half is a little long with extra fluff but makes up for it with the excitement in the 2nd half. I was pretty hooked with everything going on so that’s why I’m still giving it 3 stars despite my disappointment with the characters. My hope is that the 3rd book will redeem some of this!
My one qualm with the audio performance though is that like the audiobook for the 1st book it’s missing the ending chapters!! There are extra chapters from Hudson’s point of view that are not in this audio recording which you wouldn’t know about if you didn’t also read the book. The missing chapters from book 1 were so critical to book 2 so I’m guessing these missing chapters will also be critical to book 3 so why exclude them?? Doesn’t make any sense to me. Other than that the performance was okay & while I’m disappointed with the book in some ways, I’m still looking forward to reading the 3rd book when it comes out to figure out what’s next for Jaxon & Grace... I’m too invested!

Great read
I love this series so far and can’t wait to get into the rest, this one added a whole new vibe to the saga that I really appreciate. Also the narrator that read the last chapter Tim Paige had a fantastic reading. I would have actually wanted him to read the whole thing, or atleast the dialogue throughout because it would have made the experience 100x more enjoyable.

Found the story really improved from the first book and loved it was longer and really cant wait for the 3rd book.

Epic story! Can’t wait for the next!
It’s such a great story and heather reads it so well. I can’t wait for the next book. The only downside is Tims British accent in the last chapter is really poor. It’s like a mixture of Queens English, Cockney and something I can’t quite work out. Every word is from a different part of England and it makes it difficult to listen to. Other than that it’s bloody fantastic !

The story is good
The reason I have three stars is the constant feeling bad for.herself and repeating the same words over and over. I do admit skipping the game explanation s as they too were too long. I did buy the next story through and hope not skipping alot

Heroine is super annoying.
I really try not to leave negative reviews but the heroine is just so, so annoying. She’s a self centred, selfish little bum hole and EVERYONE in the book deserves better than her and her stubborn/ stupid behaviour. Liked the plot from the first book? Yeah, well this takes a totally different direction so don’t get to comfy. Are the characters personality’s consistent? Not really no. Apart from Macy, she’s a dream. Will I read the next books, yes. Why? Because I like to punish myself and I’m invested in the other characters and that my friends is what you call ‘evil empire, laughing all the way to the bank’ …. Also the male voice actors British accent is garbage.

Now you got me!
So I wasn't a fan of the first book in this series. It made me second guess if I wanted to keep going, but I'm glad I gave it another shot, as in my own personal opinion, this one blows the first book right out of the water!!! This one got me good haha.

On the edge..
What an ending!! In the edge throughout the entire book. Read the books first but listening to them gives it a whole new feeling of experiencing the story as it's happening. Half way through reading the 3rd book and can't wait to start listening to it!! Great narration... easy to listen and become part of the action.
