Publisher's Summary

Book three of nine.

Ash’s life is anything but normal these days.

Having discovered his Dao, he’s grown in power. Grown to the point that others are now aware of him and that he could be a danger.

In this world of martial arts, only the strong and the ruthless survive. Everyone else is merely a stepping stone on their path of Cultivation or an obstacle to be overcome. Or knocked down. It’s a world where the strong rule and the weak die.

Utilizing the Hall, the voice in his head that calls itself Locke, those who have aligned with his faction, and all the powers available to him, Ash has begun his own journey of Cultivation.

Except that as a Fated One, his journey is a narrow and winding path between two cosmic forces. Each one vying for dominance.

That doesn’t even take into account the royal family or the Realm Lord.

This is his third step in his life as a Cultivator.

Overcoming his first tribulation and solidifying his Dantian.

Trashy

Every conversation revolves around sex or is interrupted by sexual comments. Feels like a 12 year old virgin living at the playboy mansion took over writing the series.

Worst ending possible

I dont usually write reviews and Arand has some great series but this book ruined this one for me. honestly theres a couple issues th MC becoming insanely op all the sudden being one. but the ending was the worst ever. it doesn't even make sense then they kill off one of the main characters for no reason as well as basically saying the entire next book will be him in this jail place. None of the events leading up to it really make sense either. He basically speed runs several very important events all at once with little to no explanation or context. Then the emperor casually says good job but your a criminal good luck in my prison, oh and let me just kill your wife in front of you for no reason right before banishment. I can overlook a lot of the books flaws, Andrea narrates amazingly. But that last basically 5 minutes of the book ruin it and any subsequent books in the series for me.

Changed from good cultivation story to all harem

First book was good, had some meaningful relationships and quips to add to the awesome cultivation story. Second book seemed like it was half harem romance with little cultivation and actual story. This third book felt like I had to wait through 90% of a romance novel to get any story progression and cultivation. I'm likely to end the story here and not worry about any future books. I actually feel bad for recommending this series before now as it started out fun. Now I am annoyed by the battle spirit / soul that is attached to Ash. Every comment seems to be some sexual quip instead of helping the story. This really felt like a bait and switch as a reader and is beyond annoying.

If you are looking for a good progression fantasy, this is not it. If you are looking for a harem novel where everyone swoons for the main character to an annoying extent you will enjoy this.

Good addition to the series

Good addition to the series. I like that the MC is being more proactive as he matures.

Uhhh what?!

Wtf was with that ending. I'm a fan of all of William D. Arrand's work, but this is the first time a book ending of his pissed me off. Be ready to rage at the end.

Story is good ending is ???

Like always I enjoy miss parsneau as a narrator and william as a writer but this story ending was good but maybe it could have been better.. i get where the author is going and i’m sure the next book will be interesting but the hole reason why the mc ended up where he did and the thing just before that is “questionable” …. Maybe its just me but that’s my opinion.

i listened to this again and still the ending just seems off .... i understand where the author is going but the logic behind the result seems off and also the logic behind him losing ki and not being able to replenish it during a fight when he creates "bricks" and stores them ... sooo yeah good book but ending could have been edited a little better.

Excellent, I couldn't stop listening.

Listened to all 3 books in 3 days at work, its not perfect and theres some annoying or cringey dialogue but it's a great series and has great characters, cant wait for book 4 and ill probly read through them later right before book4 comes out. Great book but how tf u gonna end the book on a cliff hanger like that that when u only release a new book every 2 years:(((. Honestly kinda wish I didn't listen to it right now and waited for the series to finish so i could listen/read till conclusion but that will take forever. I recommend this book
