3 star listen

Not my favourite of the series but still worth the listen.
Audio was ok a few places where there is sound issues but still good with a nice narration.

Fmc is only 17 so that maybe the main reason I wasn’t overly a fan of this one.

Mmc was ok he’s an angel. I wasn’t overly invested in the story but I loved that we was bits an pieces of main favourite dragon shifter and the fae Irish lord from previous books.

Fmc of both book one and two are just better than this one is all.

Still a 3 star listen, I enjoyed it.

Poppy Royana once again knocked it out of the park

Between the husband and the kid, I've had too many extra ears around to settle in with an audiobook as of late, so it's taken me some time to revisit Cursed Vampire. Having just spent the weekend finally enjoying the Tru's sass as the backdrop to my various tasks, I can confirm once again that Poppy Royana knocked it out of the park.

From the stress and heartbreak at the beginning of book to the colorful cast of characters littered throughout Tru's journey, I thought Poppy did a fantastic job of bringing this story and each of those voices fully to life. It isn't always as possible to lose yourself to an audiobook as you can to the page, but I've found it's all too easy to become completely enraptured by listening to this series.

Whether you're an avid reader or audiobook listener, I highly recommend every bit of this series.

An excellent paranormal fantasy

I only recently discovered Brogan Thomas, and I’m amazed to see she is new to the writing world! Cursed Vampire is such a well-developed story, with weighed emotions, a wide collection of mythical beings, and loads of potential for further exploration in the story’s universe.

The narrator Poppy Royana was excellent at conveying all the nuance needed for such an in-depth story.

This story is good for anyone who’s into paranormal fantasy, urban or contemporary fantasy, strong female main characters, and mythical creatures.

Thanks to Brogan for a complementary copy of this audiobook! I’m looking forward to seeing what other stories exist in the Creatures of the Otherworld universe.

Such a great listen

Another great addition to add to the creatures of the otherworld. I was so excited to start this new book. It does not disappoint. The narrator brings everything together.

Good story!

I enjoyed this story. I loved that the characters were different than the usual ones you see. The narrator does a great job telling the story. I hope to read more of Tru and her ever growing band of misfits.

I'm bad at writing headlines

this story is the first by this author I read and I enjoyed it SO MUCH. It managed to turn tropes that annoy me on their side and make them not only NOT terrible but engaging as well. That ending paragraph is perfection. Consistent and pretty realistic characterization of an actually mature for her age teenager is so refreshing after many "she's 17 but fully written as a 40 year old" or "teenager means erratic so no need for continuity or any actual effort" stories I've seen. The much much older crush being completely ethical and not crossing lines? I cannot express my satisfaction in mere words, just fist pumps.

Brilliant!!

With each book, the series keeps getting better and better. Cursed Vampire is brilliantly written, totally engaging, entertaining, and a fantastic addition to the series. The characters are very well-developed, appealing, unique, with distinct personalities and complex emotions. I generally don't get too much into books with younger/teenage characters, but the series is an exception. I absolutely adore Tru, she is well-rounded, sassy, and a fighter, behaving and reacting maturely for her age. She is confronted with one challenge after another, faced with abuse and heartache but manages to fight and claw her way above it all. She is definitely one to admire.

Poppy Royana did an outstanding job with the narration. She captures the characters' personalities, prototyped emotions, and intensity found in the pages. The series is absolutely amazing, and one I'm strongly recommending.

I can't believe how much I've thoroughly enjoyed this series of books! I've been binge listening since I discovered the first book. I highly recommend this and all other books in the series, the narrator is fantastic and has fast become one of my favourites, as has the author.

Love this new author

This book is similar to the previous as in it's the same world building but a different lead character. Love the inner monologue the LC has. If you like vamps, shifters but don't want graphic romance scenes then this book is for you. Easy to listen to and just plain fun.

very enjoyable listen

This story has a very well drawn and believable female lead, who was likeable but not perfect and I wanted to find out more about. Mature for her age and capable, she is no wilting flower! Also, its really well written and flows along nicely. But the romance takes a background role, there was barely any hint of the male lead's character. That might be because the female lead is 17 and he's a lot older and it was refreshing to have a story where the male lead is able to keep their hands off the minor they are guardian for, even though there's clearly attraction on both sides. It's also clear they'll have more contact (ha) in the future.

The biggest issue I had was with the outstanding issues left at the end - you'll know what I mean when you get there. It's sort of like this is the first, freestanding novel in a trilogy. Although I must say, I do have every confidence our heroine will sort it all out, to her satisfaction, that's just how the author has her come across. But I would have very much have enjoyed hearing her do so!

All in all though, a great listen and recommended.

Good listen

Tru might only be 17 but she packs a punch with her words and fighting. She puts the council to rights most are misogynistic although a few agree with her . I enjoyed listening to this book and the narrator was good.

Excellent series

This is Brogan’s third book and I have thoroughly enjoyed every one. I am hoping there are more to come in this series. I especially would like to see where this heroine’s story takes her, if she could make an appearance in future books, aiding the new heroines. It would be great if all the heroines make cameo appearances in future books. This series was an unexpected gem.
