This book is a waste of time and money

I was very disappointed in this book. It is little more than an endless list of acronyms. With very few exceptions, mostly when discussing Cisco products, there is no in-depth coverage or explanation of the topics. I was left wondering if the author is sponsored by Cisco. The reader sounds supercilious and condescending, as if he is talking to a 10-year old. He also has an annoying habit of reading in half-sentences, that is, finishing the first half of a sentence as if it is a whole sentence, then reading the second half as if it were a new sentence. This discontinuity is distracting and it taxed my patience.

I will not buy another book by Hugo Hoffman, and I will henceforth try to avoid anything narrated by Matyas J.

I am going to ask for my money back.

Well Cybersecurity book for Beginners...

Being a person who is unashamedly lazy when it comes to listening, I knew I was looking for a audio-book that would keep my interest and not get too bogged down in the jargon and technical terms of Cyber Security. After all, I was a beginner and I didn’t want to overwhelm myself any more than I knew it would be, being such an extensive subject.

Poor Narration

As a few others have noted, any useful information in this title is lost by the narration quality. Matyas J. regularly pauses in the middle of sentences and confuses words that make following along incredibly difficult. For example, at one point he says "leaving" instead of "living." Other examples are more extreme.

In depth and informative

The audio-book really breaks down the fundamentals of cyber security and what makes a basic program. There were a few pronunciations that the narrator could’ve done better on but since I’m assuming he doesn’t have a background in IT, it’s understandable. The content is straightforward and while I wish the author gave more examples, it’s still a solid audio-book.

Outstanding

Fascinating book, it provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of cyber security and the incredible challenges facing cyber security professionals. Very detailed, the authors go to great lengths to point out some very scary vulnerabilities and they also dispel some fears that are probably overblown. Very even handed in how they approache political perspectives for cyber strategies. The narrator does an excellent job. Highly recommended.
