Confusing

This is disorganized, just like the other reviews said. It's also confusing. I was studying for my ASWB LCSW exam and hoping this would help, but the narrator lost me when she pronounced Freud "Free-yood" multiple times along with other jarring mispronunciations.

INTOLERABLE

I listened to the sample but there wasn’t enough information to identify how dismal this presentation was going to be. The narrator stumbled over common psychiatric pronunciations - (putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable of words like “psychopathy”.) I found myself literally screaming, “FREUD!!!” whenever the narrator mispronounced the name of the Father of Psychiatry as “FROOD” several times. There is NO excuse. The author didn’t review the recording or the blatant errors would have been corrected. There’s another book: DSM-5, A CRASH COURSE, which is infinitely better & comes with a PDF of the DSM-5.

frustrating

This study guide has a bunch incomplete sentences and rambling incoherence. I am shocked by the poor quality. The chapters are not marked so you can figure out what is covered, just telling me it is "Chapter 2" gives me no info. I will be trying to get my money back. These sentences were the last straw for me : "As an example, it can be mentioned how the psychologist in a child custody case failed to include all documents about the other party's psychic behavior. A deviant psychopathic, narcissistic behavior well documented many years back in time". WHAT?!?! And the word is psychotic, not psychic. Big difference. Gah!

Not helpful

If you are looking for something other than a poor recitation of DSM/ICD codes, this is not a good choice.

Not thorough

Did not give all chapters of the DSM-5, such as those chapters that cover somatic symptoms and disorders, gender dysphoria, and sexual dysfunction.

Book sucks.

Poor production quality. Bought to study for NCMHCE. USELESS needed to be less a law book, (first 3 chapters are a recitation of legal code). May help someone. I am not one of them. I am out $20.

Great audio review for any therapist needing

Great audio review for any therapist needing to review diagnosis’s or clinicians studying for board exams. The narrator is of good quality and the information thorough enough to learn and expand differential diagnosis clinical abilities.

The books explains how,

The books explains how, in broad DSM . If that doesn’t prove this book is intended to entertain I don’t know what would. If you’re afraid the book teaches how to use and abuse you can relax. There isn’t enough detail for that.

Really well done. Truly COMPREHENSIVE.

Really well done. Truly COMPREHENSIVE. And the online portion (questions/tests etc) is alone worth the price. This book condensed all the info into easy to understand formats. The review questions were great because they provided wonderful rationale.

Accurate information but poor narration

Really struggled with the narrator's voice and discontinued listening after 60 minutes, purchased an alternative as a result of this.

Disappointed in narration and overall quality.

The narrator is terrible at annunciating correctly, it sounds like it was recorded in a large empty room, and the recording editing sounds choppy. Not stoked about this purchase and feeling quite disappointed. I am a little shocked that this was released as it was; it seems like no one reviewed it before they released it, and if it was reviewed and deemed acceptable, the reviewer seemingly has pretty low standards.
