Died for a cause. Johnny’s tombstone would read like something you’d find in a dime novel at a used bookstore. Going out like a snuffed candle, his life ended just as it had really begun. Now he’s been given a second chance to fight his way out of the corner he put himself into. In a world of brawls, dirty fights, and hard-hitting cultivators, he must win. Because if he loses, he’ll lose more than just the fight, and it won’t be his life. He already managed that once, after all.

Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Terrence Mack was born poor, grew up tough, and died hard. Waking up in a sea cave with nothing but the clothes on his back and a new bullet scar was enough to convince him that wherever his death had brought him, it wasn't paradise. His new world quickly proves to be a place of danger, magic, monsters, and - for Terry at least - women. Known on Celestine as a template, Terry's genes are key to the survival of the eldritch races. But the fiercely competitive eldritch don't typically leave their lovers alive long, and aren't accustomed to taking 'no' for an answer.

Sebastian Frost was a man with an interesting reputation. He’d killed 12 giants, eight heroes, a duke, and even a prince. But nobody ever talked about any of that. All they talked about was the deviant, disgusting, detestable Herald of Shalia that shamelessly laid with elves. That was because in the strange world based on game mechanics Frost found himself in, laying with elves was somehow treated like laying with animals. Naturally, they weren’t calling him Herald Frost the giant killer....

Sameerixis, or Sam for those who actually know him, isn’t what you’d call normal. He’s a door-to-door salesman, of sorts. One that peddles wares, wishes, and whims to anyone willing to pay his prices. Prices that usually involve a few years of your life, maybe a handful of days, or a single night of pleasure that’ll cost a few hours. He’s an incubus that solves problems. Mental, emotional, spiritual, material, and anything and everything in between. Sam can provide an answer and resolution.

An existence spent being forced to kill others to satiate a monster. Where the only thing to look forward to was the blessed, if brief, period of time between paying that bribe. Except that very same monster is and isn’t Rene. It just happened to live inside his own mind and force him to do what it wanted - rather than him being an actual monster. That was Rene’s entire life until a fateful day changed that. A day that his career as a hitman for hire built on the monster’s needs will end. Where Rene will be forced to atone for his actions. To be held accountable and judged.

All Steve knows is that he’s apparently supposed to build a farm. At least that’s his only workable assumption. Given the number of farm-tools left to him. That and the massive number of sacks full of seeds. Unfortunately, this isn’t even the strangest part of this new life. Hidden inside the farm tools, Steve finds messages. Publisher's Summary
Cut class. Kick ass. Save the frigging world.
Dan fought hard to win the throne. He'll need to fight even harder to keep it.
When two armies descend upon the Wildervast, Dan must gather a barbarian horde to defend his lands, his people, and his wives. Meanwhile, an artifact of great power rekindles an ancient conflict within his own fortress. Then, as war rages within and without, the wicked, all-powerful succubus queen threatens to replace Dan's crown with a slave collar.
With staggering challenges, fiery new wives, and everything on the line, Dan the Warlord is the epic conclusion of the Gold, Girls, and Glory series.
Warning: Dan the Warlord is an over-the-top adventure novel intended for listeners 18 and older. It includes explicit sex, graphic violence, a harem of gorgeous ass-kicking girls, an extremely evil artifact, horny monster girls, a horde of foul-mouthed barbarians, and a succubus queen bent on making Dan her pet. Listen at your own risk.

awesome
this is the kind of book series where the fact that there are sex scenes and all that doesn't really matter. sure it adds to the world and adds to the mentality that the author is trying to get across but they could be removed in the story would still be good. I like that because a lot of books that are like this where they at in random sex scenes, they feel so hollow an empty when it comes to the story itself. it's almost as though they use those scenes to sell the books and spend all of their creative energy on that.
the difference is that with these books they are written so well. they also have had a fairly quick turn around rate for the Nextbook which is great too because then you don't have to wait too long for the next one comparatively speaking.
I don't really know what else to say when it comes to reviewing the book but I can say that if anyone is reading this and they are a fan of tabletop gaming they will enjoy this type of book because this story reminds me of how I used to play with my friends in the type of stories that we would come across. it would be far less sex and no real harems to speak of but I love the story of going from some average everyday guy to this big awesome badassbut it's not like it was just handed to them. they still had to work their way up. it was just that magic gave them the opportunity to be something more.

The finale
Fantasy Harem gameLit light with adult content. This is book 4 in a 4-bool series.
I read this series a couple of years back and enjoyed it. I've recently started listening to audio books, and it's been nice to force myself to NOT do something but focus on listening.
In this tale, the hero and MC, Dan, has taken over Freedom Valley and now has two powerful dukes ready to invade and divide his lands between them. As the picture shows, the MC has acquired a lot of women by the time of the fourth book, like a cheesy RPG game, the MC keeps adding to the harem all along his journey. This isn't a classic story, but it is fun entertainment that is meant to be diverting and satisfying; it's geared to the tastes of male gamers, past and present.
Naturally, I've started to gain some favorite narrators. Before this series, I had never heard Andrea Parsneau perform. And in this series, perform she does. I was quite blown away by her skills. She kept my attention through out the story. Whether you have read the ebook or not, you're in for a treat. Highly recommended.

An amazing ending!
Hondo Jinx closes the chapter on this series, and he does it with style. As much as I hate to see the series end I think that he did an amazing job on shutting the doors and turning out the lights. I seriously had a Sam Malone moment when Cheers ended, you could see that Sam was where he was meant to be, and that he loved his bar. Dan, also is happy to be where he is, to be with the people he is with, and satisfied that all is finally right in his world.
Truly, I do not know how Jinx pulled this off. There were a lot of plotlines to be tied up, characters to close out arcs, and battles to be fought before the end of the book and yet he does it all quite deftly. At no point did I wonder where he was headed, what was going on, or why something was done.
Now I did have some issues. There was one spot that seemed rushed or too easily handled and that was the ship battle with the one Duke, who had just spent a good amount of time telling Dan just how hardcore he was, and that he was super deadly, only for that whole meeting to kind of get overshadowed by the fight that later followed. To me it was just a touch too easy and too quick, and was necessitated by Dan’s needing to get back to his home because of other battles that were waiting. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of a struggle is all I’m saying.
The resolution between the red elves and the forest elves was neatly resolved, as was the problem with the monster wives. Truth be told, Jinx pretty much closed accounts on every single character that Dan knew, and that is a rare thing. It is something I appreciated as a reader. I also think that jinx managed to make me pity several characters who eventually died through no fault of their own. All I can say is that Artifacts suck.
The ending also manages to leave the door open for more of Dan’ exploits in the future. I would love to see Jinx follow marvel Comics example at some point in the future and pull a King Conan, where Conan is, duh, King and he runs around training his son Conn to take over for him. (add Conn pic here please). I would love to see Dan the Father King, with Dan taking out his menagerie of half monster, elf, and elemental kids. That would be a blast. I don’t need to see more ladies added to the harem, but getting to see Dan struggle with mostly daughters and a son or two, while maintaining a kingdom could be real fun.
Finally, Adrea parenau steals this finale as only she could. Honestly, I’ve been saying for a loooong time that she is the only person I know that would make me want to boink a hobgoblin just because of the voice she used. Here she revives some old voices and from a crazy old wizard to an old gaming companion of Dan’s. Honestly, if you are going to close out a series, then you couldn’t ask for more than what Andrea gives here. It has all the emotion of the MASH final, minus the feared great flush, the levity of Friends, and the gravitas of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Thankfully, we didn’t get a Newhart surprise at the end. That is all thanks to her incredible vocal work.
Final score? 8.5 stars. This is how you end a series.

Great Finish to a great series
This was the final book in the series, and the author pulled out all stops. Having to face down not one, but two huge armies, battle for domination with an otherworldly beauty, survive an assassination attempt, and get one of the coolest swords in all of fiction. If you’ve enjoyed the first three books in the series, the final one will not disappoint!
