Armon Ellington is 19 year old kid that always felt out of place. He's an orphan, a gamer, and a role playing game geek. When he dies after a 72 hour gaming marathon, instead of going to an afterlife he's transported to a new world governed by rules that are eerily similar to the RPG games he loves. On this new world, Terra, he can be anything he wants, a warrior, mage, or even a crafter. Only, Armon wants more than that, he also wants friends and family.

Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate. Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

His moment of heroism results in being torn away from everyone he knew and loved, kidnapped by an unknown force that leaves him with a note in his pocket stating: "Good luck." After being thrown into the wilderness of Elatra, a hostile fantasy world ruled by levels, stats, progression, and bizarre video game logic, he finds himself entirely out of his depth.

My master created me for his entertainment, leading adventurers to ruin. Betraying them at the last moment, just when their glorious victory was on hand. I have been found again by the newest member of a quartet of dungeon crawlers. Poor fool. This time will be no different. Or does it have to be? Maybe I don't need to spend eternity left in a deep, dark dungeon waiting to devour would-be heroes. Publisher's Summary
For those who reside in the outer regions of Aleria, the day of bestowal is what determines their destiny.
It is the holy day of the Goddess. The day that allows those of age to step forward and receive their blessing, to embark on the path that she has chosen for them. To receive their Classification, which dictates their strength and ability. For those people, the holy day of bestowal represents fate itself.
For Dante, it represents salvation.
Years have past since he found himself abandoned without memories: years of hunger, ostracization, and solitude on the streets of Alazel without any hope of reprieve; of entrapment at the hands of the creatures that roamed the wilds beyond the city walls that made leaving impossible.
Now, there is a chance for everything to change.
In a cruel world where power could be gained through slaughter, strength meant everything. For Dante, that meant that the last his hopes lay in the Goddess' blessing. A combat Classification would be a lifeline, a way for him to escape the hell he had been living in. Anything else would only mean death.
This is a fantasy story that is heavily influence by LitRPG elements, which include: classes, status screens, skills, leveling, and a form of experience gain, among other things.

Shame that the author has been radio silent
I had been holding off on this book for various reasons but I finally decided to get it and it's REALLY good. It's a shame though because the author has been rather silent and it doesn't seem likely we're getting a second book. I don't know their circumstances so I can't say anything with certainty but I REALLY hope they come back. Read at your own discretion and prepare yourself not to get a second book

I enjoyed it well enough
I enjoyed it well enough, No where close to loving it but I liked it enough. Not sure Ill enjoy the future books if its combat scenes dont improve.
In this installment however combat plays a pretty small part. And at first it was ok. Basic tactics and strategy was used and it was all written well enough. But as the book progressed, fights have become more and more just lopsided affairs. Either the main character just uses his basic and overpowered attacks and wins or they are ineffective and he loses. And he has too many deux ex machinas attached to him for my taste.
As for the politics that are central to the story. They are too amoral for my tastes. The main character did one particularily immoral act of cold blooded killing. And though the author tried to make it look absolutely essential, the reasons given were rather weak. Triply so in hindsight.
But at least the author tried with him. The nobles in the book are generally completely amoral. Not immoral, but insteD completely without conscience or a sense of right or wrong or duty or anything. They dont even have some sort of greater good in mind. Its all straight power grabbing for the sake of power itself.
The first bad noble in the book, Gregory. Is actually the most likable noble in the book to me, because at least he seemed to have an axis his decisions were based upon. Even if it was a cartoonishly exaggerated sense of self worth
The result is the book is filled with what should be interesting and complex political machinations hampered by a complete lack of moral reasoning behind them, good or bad reasoning.
But despite all that, I still found it written well enough to earn a tentative 4 stars in hopes of later improvement.

Good, but it could use some improvement.
While I understand that the world and time period depicted in the book are complete works of fiction, the use of words like “cool”, “crazy”, “slut”, and worst of all “as-if” stick out like a sore thumb and make the story feel far more juvenile than it should be. This is compounded by the narrators valley girl accent for every female character and horrendous Scottish accent for characters who don’t need to have one.
With those gripes aside, the book was a solid listen for me. It had good storyline progression and a solid main character who I was able to invest in emotionally with ease. I am looking forward to seeing what book 2 holds.

An Amazing story that sucks you in in seconds
This is one of those books where I sincerely believe that it could have worked better without the LitRPG elements. This isn't to say that the LitRPG doesn't work. It is cool as hell, but I think that this would have actually been more powerful as a straight up fantasy novel. It is one heck of a magic system. The world is built with precision and purpose, and is one of the best fantasy settings I have ever read. The characters that fill it all seem to be major S.O.B.s, though, lol. This is moste certainly a place where you can trust no one. Everyone has an ulterior motive, and is out to remove you from their way or see what they can get from you.
There are some really scary things here, such as wraith collars and predatory dungeons. Sincerely, this world is a character unto itself, and Dante is just an intriguing character. I have to say that this book does one thing right comparede to 99% of all other books and that is the layout of the nemesis and the fate of said nemesis. It is handled the way any inteliigent person would, and when it happened I shouted out "YES!!!" Terzini knows how to put you in the car, strap you in, hit the buttons, send you up the hill, and just before you go over the top scream at you that the rollercoaster has no brakes!!!!! The ride requires very little set up, and once the story starts going it never stops. There are parts that are just heartwrenching, and others where you cheer and shout for joy! I loved every minute with Dante and want more right now.
Jeff Hays is on point narrating, and dang if this doesn't seem to be his best work. I mean you could just feel Dante's suffering in his voice, and the growl from his anger put off heat. You ever see the movie Dune? Where they have the weirding modules thatallow a person's voice to set fires, rend flesh, and shatter stone? Yeah? Well, I think Jeff is about to lose the need for a weirding module. His vocal powers are legendary, but here he just stomped Zeus into the dirt leaving godhood behind and becoming a full fledged Titan. He just brought this book home in a solid gold limousine. I don't know how he does this everytime, but he is continually improving and getting stronger. Rock Solid narration. Nuff said. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.
If this review helped, please press the YES below. Thank you immensely!!!

This is a five star book
Give this book a chance just pst first half hour it takes off and is fantastic. I’m not big in to world building however the author does such an impressive job that I love it. My only issue was that the mc chose different class than I would of in his spot. That is seriously my only issue with this novel it is such a fun listen. Well built and thought out.
Now from my understanding some people bashed the author from the plot of the second book and he took a break from writing. I hope he understands that he did a fantastic job with this book and I hope he gives us more with another listen.

I don't know why I liked this book so much. There is not a boring point in the book and the book rolls along a path that is entertaining if not complicated. I think this will be in my list to re read and definitely look for book 2.

Fecking Ace-
really enjoyed the characters and the plot which was both intriguing and moved at a good pace. MC has nice character development adapting to events and his needs ,which a lot of books fall flat on . Plus it helps the mc is likable but still has a few flaws that reflect his story without being annoying, too stupid to live or some perfect vanilla cut out. The world has a unique take and the skill sets are interesting and aren't too bulky or recapped too much. Overall this is one of my favourite books and i'm glad a bought it. Really looking forward to a second book, I hope the author continues the series.

PLEASE WRITE MORE!
Really enjoyed this. The story kept me hooked and the voice Talents of me Hays were excellent as usual. The only other books of this genre I've enjoyed this much are the Dungeon crawler carl books. Please please write more!

Excellent RPGLit character development needs work
I love this style book and really enjoy Jeff Hays.
Only problem I had was relating to Dante, yes he is in a kill or be killed situation but he’s to ruthless to have affinity with the character.
Still an excellent book.

Not Bad
A little different but, nevertheless, interesting. I found the continuous updating of the various specialities which Dantè acquires a little wearing at times. That said. I did enjoy the book, but whether I will buy book 2, I am unsure.

Potato chip novel
While the themes and various world elements are great, the moment any of the elements get engaging, it switches out for something else, by the end you will feel like 'where did all the chips go?'

Awesome book, I wish there was a second book.
Be warned that this was released in 2017/18 and nothing appears to be out since.
Unfortunately it leaves off with you expecting multiple book.
Saying all that. Do I regret buying it?
No for one instant. I loved every second of it.
Antonio Terzini get your shxt together and write another one so you can take my money. 😀

GOOD
Only gripe I have with this book is the old trope of the MC becoming a bumbling idiot the moment he gets a smile from a pretty girl.
