Story
Have you ever felt like there was something inside of you pushing your actions? A dormant beast, so to speak. I know it sounds crazy. But, that’s the best way I could describe how I’ve felt for a long time. I thought it was normal, some animal part of the human brain that lingered from evolution. But, this is the story of how I learned I wasn’t exactly human, and there was a world underneath our own where all the things that go bump in the night live. And, that my beast was very real indeed.

Falling through a portal and becoming a dragon shifter was strange enough. But, when I devoured a demon core and gained access to a forbidden quest system, my life changed forever. Sintar was like Earth in many ways. It had a blue sky, green grass, and air that I could breath. The demon attacks and shifter magic, however, were new. Every man and woman in Sintar had the ability to change their form. And now, that included me. And the gorgeous, silver-haired wolf girl I saved on my first day.

I only got into trucking because my granddad was a trucker, and he was the best damn person I ever met. I'd always thought I was your average dude with an 18-wheeler and an addiction to energy drinks, but it turns out there might be something more brewing in my blood. Now instead of some desert highway, I'm stuck in a whole new realm, and it's full of worm cults, actual lot lizards, one seriously smoking catgirl mechanic, and enough sand and bloodthirsty creatures to make me think I took a wrong turn somewhere. But I might be able to add a whole new career path to my resume.

Story
With Boromour now safe from the Horde, Alex needs to figure out his next step. Does he go after the mages’ society, or grow his own fellowship? A chance meeting in the city of Proper might be the way to accomplish both of those options at once. Sara, the wild catgirl, is proving to be quite a handful for Alex. But, she ends up becoming a spearhead for what is now happening on Boromour. God has changed the rules on that planet, and to say that people are going nuts over it is an understatement.

Publisher's Summary
Dao Divinity! I continue blending cultivation and fantasy with my latest series. Welcome to a fantasy world where the progressive magic system follows the cultivation concept of Dao.
Dar’s life was simple, until a driving accident brings him to a new world filled with magic and creatures from fantasy.
He has a fresh chance in a new world, but not everything is peaceful in Granterra. Luckily, with an enchanted body and a legendary ability to grow his magic, Dar has an advantage in cultivating his Dao that no one else does. He’ll have to embrace his newfound powers to their fullest if he’s intent coming out ahead.
Good for him that the two best ways to expand his magic are by killing his enemies and loving on his women. Given the stunning witch and dryad on his side, it’s not hard to do both.

Good story, bad MC.
The story and world are interesting but the book is hampered by a pretty stupid and unbelievably naive MC. "Huh, this wine has a strange aftertaste, better wash it down with more wine!" Sigh...
This MC is supposed to we a worldly man who has traveled around from place to place and pretty much immediately can suss out if a character is up to no good. And even after being warned about a certain character, he still stupidly, let's his guard down and gets drugged and captured.
Why not insist on one of your Dao companions joining for dinner or even one of your servents. He knew she was going to try and seduce him so why not put the breaks on that immediately. Or just decline the invitation and say you'll do dinner the next day so they can leave before that. He didn't want to go to the dinner so don't go. But no, there had to be some stupid reason for him to get captured.
The Narration is fine for the most part but when she does the MC's inner monologue, it's for some reason done with a deep voice that is annoying. What's worse is that the MC's speaking voice is nothing like that. Either just read the inner thoughts normally in your own voice or do the MC's normal voice.
Men don't think in a deep baritone.

Anoying narration
The story itself was good, not gonna lie, but the way that the narrator speaks with this anoying, almost comical deep voice just made this unbearably annoying to listen to. The voices that she did for the actual characters were great, but her "narrator" voice ruined the few chapters I did listen too. This is gonna a be the first audio book I ever return.

Narrator is Awful
So the narrator does well on character voices and such. It's the general narration she does poorly on. For some reason she had this weird depth she tries to add in her narrating that is just awful. What is worse is she slips into a normal reading of the story at times and actually sounds good them she realizes she's not doing a voice and slips back into the garbage haughty depth she was doing.

good first volumn
I liked the characters and the basic plot. I felt a little lost on a few aspects of this world . I thought more explanation would have cleared up a few questions. there is a difference from suspense and confused. Maybe I am easily distracted and need things spelled out. toward the middle and end I finally understood things and enjoyed the story. I thought the ending was good without stupid massive cliffhanger. I want the second volumn to see where things go.
I thought the narration was good and had zero complaints.

Issues with performance
Solid story with great characters and a griping finalae however...
There are odd gaps between phases and lines of dialogue that really disrupt the flow. It also feels like the narrator is spreaking prose in the masculine voice even though its unnecessary for third person although its hard to be sure.
The narrator does do a good job differentiating charcters in the book however.
