Publisher's Summary

Do you want to know the techniques of dark psychology? Do you think you are being manipulated, and that someone controls your mind and your actions? Do you feel that your life is getting out of control? If you want to understand the effects of mental manipulation, to recognize and contrast them instantly, then keep reading.

Dark psychology can be seen as the study of the human condition, in relation to the psychological nature of the different kinds of people who prey on others. The fact is that every single human being has the potential to victimize other people or other living creatures. Due to social norms, the human conscience, and other factors, most humans tend to restrain their dark urges and to keep themselves from acting on every impulse that they have. However, there is a small percentage of the population that is unable to keep their dark instincts in check, and they harm others in seemingly unimaginable ways.

Dark psychology is becoming more and more used by those who want to control your actions, to get what they want. All in all, it is quite clear that the knowledge of this subject is necessary for daily survival.

What kinds of traits malicious and exploitative people have? What are the psychological drives that lead the people to act in ways that are against social norms and are harmful to others?

interesting.. one note though

I think the default reading speed is set to super slow.. I had to speed it up, otherwise it could've been annoying. That being said the book at a normal reading speed is like 6-8 hours long.. Subject was interesting. I think people sabotage themselves and the people in their lives knowingly and unknowingly all the time. This book was helpful in identifying some of those scenarios and situations. Helpful for those of us who have experience these types of situations. I could've done without all the thirty second breaks.. kinda like to decide for myself when I need a break.. no big deal, just sort of distracting.

Great Insights & Knowledge

Overall this is a great listen with really helpful information that can be put to use immediately. I learned quite a bit about dark psychology.

There is an interestingly timed narrator change near the beginning that threw me off and was tough to listen to. If you stick with it, you’ll make it past this funky portion and back to a normal narrator.

SCAM!

Almost all of the positive reviews of this book were “written” on the same day, and the author does not seem to exist outside the sphere of his brief series of books on this topic.

hmmm...

Well it's great in many ways, but certainly don't expect something you didn't already know. It also has absolutely no references or proof whatsoever to back anything up. There are also oddities like so many example people are normally "he" for the negative parts and the fact that Jonathan Mind the apparent author, doesn't seem to exist anywhere? Also expect the first book to play extremely slowly and sounding awful, at other points the narrator will get lost in a sentence and start again or drink mid sentence. I wanted this to be more educational than it is but sadly it is not and will never reference it.

Gender specific

Narrator reading the whole thing describing a person as "he" rather than "they". Makes it harder to make the common connection on personal experiences when that person, was infact, not a "he".

hard to listen to

the narrator is seriously inconsistent in their delivery, sometimes they will talk too fast, then slow and then abruptly there will be a few seconds of silence in the middle of a sentence.

Terrible Narrator

The narrator of this book sounds like a computer. Spaces between each word makes it really hard to stay engaged.

Not worth it

Far too much repetition throughout the book with the voice not offering any sort of variation or interest in the reading.
