Publisher's Summary

Finally you can access the power of personal influence The fascination with dark psychology, the study of the art and science behind manipulation and mind control, has exploded since this clinical research term first appeared in academic journals back in 2004.

In Dark Psychology and Manipulation, listeners will be taken into the minds, the behaviors, the tactics, and the techniques of the narcissists, machiavellians, psychopaths, and everyday sadists living and working among us. You’ve worked with some of these people, you’ve worked for them, you’ve dated them, married them, divorced them, admired them, feared them, but most of all wondered what it is that makes them do the dark and disturbing things they do.

Whether it’s your sister going through one relationship after another with an abusive, controlling, manipulative boyfriend, first husband, fiancée; or it’s your own experience of having to work for an egotistical, scheming, backstabbing, yet somehow wonderfully charismatic supervisor; or it’s your neighbor’s teenage son who seems to enjoy burning ants in the backyard on the weekends how dangerous are these people?

Are they normal? Is their behavior forgivable? Should we be modeling some of our own ways of doing things - at work, in romance, at the grocery store - after them?

Not all of them are crazy. Some of them are even wildly successful - in business, in romance, in general.

Are they certifiable or is their behavior just a little more extreme than mine?

As the field of dark psychology continues to grow, and researchers, clinical psychologist, social engineers, therapists, and other experts (and survivors) continue to find out more about what makes these people tick, you’ll find analyses of the latest studies in dark psychology.

Plus, the book gives listeners quick and easy breakdowns of how each dark personality is different from the other, and how they are similar.

Well, stress no more! Buy this book and also learn all....

Great to have this book here! I like it!I strongly recommend this easy to read, uncomplicated, well researched hand-book.The first approach the author suggests is first asking for something outrageous, expecting a no response, and only after that asking for something that you really want.I am so grateful I found this book.Great book on manipulation.

Sad panda

Disappointing. It felt as a collection of college papers strung together with a small summary. While educational but interesting.

Was hoping for more content

It was informative with it came to the descriptions of the dark triad but it lack information on how to avoid these people.
Also, this book was full of information and sources but it felt like there was parts missing in this narrative. This was helpful for me but not to the point I would have liked it to be.

I could not concentrate on the message because of the horrible Narration. He is obviously not a professional.

The narration is pretty rough

The content is pretty good but the narrator mispronounced so many names and words that it was straight up distracting. When listing the names of well known psychopaths, the names were mispronounced so comically bad that I couldn't help thinking of the Key & Peele "Substitute Teacher" sketch.

If you’re new audible and not a fan of reading

I enjoyed listening to this audible every second of the way. The breakdown and info was organized and Intriguing. I was honestly a little sad when the audible was over lol but the narrator didn’t put me to sleep (which isn’t hard to do). A little repetitiveness here and there but nothing to steer you away.

completely underwhelming

struggled to finish the last couple chapters as
it was all stuff I heard before.
don't get me wrong there is merit to knowing a lot of the stuff contained within here that is to say , if you had no idea about the topic previously, if you already have an interest in the topic and have read and heard more than just the basics then you will be bored with this, I recommend the machivellians defenders of freedom by james burnham or robert greenes selection of books on power, seduction, control etc etc.
